Its a thin line between not supporting your team and over committing So be a sponge and soak up some damage, take pressure off your cruisers and DD:s, support your team. Plan ahead if possible, keep an eye on the minimap so you know where their DD:s (torps) are coming from, keep an eye on HE spammers too, try to have an evade/escape plan Dont show unnecessary broadside Dont be that lone full hp BB against half the enemy team at the end (following some teammate on a mad yolo may be a bad plan but can often be better than no plan)

Have played a bit of ranked but now I only play the first game or two to get the initial signal flag rewards I think it is rubbish, why ? Because even if I play like a God I can still lose 10 matches in a row and only the best player walks away without losing a star (so if I end up with 1 xp less than the top score I lose a star) In the same manner a rubbish player can be carried by his team to rank 1 (yeah, it is gonna take a lot of games but it is possible)

Why not give DD:s the option of laying mines Think of a standard battle A push could be made on one flank while a couple of DD:s lay a minefield on the other side to stop outflanking by the other team. Mines should be visible to friendly team Mines could be detected by enemy hydro
