Coal spending help (sought)
NothingButTheRain replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
Sounds to me like you want the JB Only 2 caveats I can think of are the IFHE changes which include changes to platings whihc might be to JB disadvantage and the fact that imo Georgia is (slightly so) a better ship. -
what tier 10 ship to buy with my coal?
NothingButTheRain replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
So how many overpens would a Haku need for this? -
Tier 9 premiums make a lot of credits, as do tier 8 and the now defunct operations narai and twilight (especially twilight ). And playing well is the other main factor here. Yesterday I played 2 games (1 vladi for the 1k xp mission 1 georgia) and the georgia game netted me over 500k credits net income (over 600k before costs) and this was using only a zulu and the stock camo (just divving up with a friend who happened to be playing tier 9, so I joined with this). I don't get why narai was supposedly the most awesome for credits. Sure it was good, but most of the credits I got was from the special signals which happened to include a credit multiplier even though I used them for the fxp. And sometimes there will be an event that can net you some good credits. This here for example was from the last patch: Nice But the twilight battles were by far the most awesome when it comes to credit income considering the twilight ships couldn't even get a special camo equipped and I got such income consistently without spending as much of my precious signal flags as I would have in any of the other standard gamemodes. TLDR: Tier 9 is where the credits are usually at, unless there's some event BUT you could of course spam credit boosters even in coop and still get a good amount.

What I am wondering is why this happened in the first place? There must've been some serverside change that caused this. Now I'm not stating that this was rigged or anything, but more that it stands out to me that this serverside changing is a thing in the first place.

They are probably all to be found inside the ingame files.

Best or most annoying triple same ship divs in the game?
NothingButTheRain replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
We went 2x Smolensk and 1x the tier 10 french dakkabaguette. We didn't even perform all that well but it was fun for sure I think I also did a couple 3x Scharnhorsts way back, but this isn't necessarilly the most annoying except when you get to rush the channel or rush in Estuary or something 3x Kamikaze is really quite persuasive at making people want to just put their mouse down and go make a cup of coffee till next match Just to let things sink in for a bit -
WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!
NothingButTheRain replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Not entirely certain (as patches can get delayed), but the new patch will probably hit in around 7 weeks or so. -
what tier 10 ship to buy with my coal?
NothingButTheRain replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
Tier 10 ships only? Get Smolensk. Btw, I haven't looked at your stats yet, but even though Smolensk is kinda boring to play by itself, it does offer a unique gameplay that very very few ships can offer you (and of the 3 other ships with similar gameplay that I can recall from top of my head, 2 are unavailable unless you are a megawhale and the 3rd is available for steel and has like 13km range only. -
Gonna be a new patch, maybe upload one from today or later so the replay should be compatible Long range aim is mostly a matter of practice, but I can perhaps tell you more once I see the replay. When playing BB, I'd recommend going full survivability build anyway, which includes both the captain skills like fire prevention and SI as well as upgrades that increase main gun accuracy and reduce fires.
-
It's not about having a better stat in one area or another, it's about BBs being less influential in the game 12v12 and you trying to have me sink tons of time jsut because you want to arguably force people's opinion on this or something. And I can't be bothered to have to filter through all of your arguments when you're missing the main issues anyway. If you want to know solo influence per class, the easiest way to check these is to look for things like solo winrate spread (and particularly the maximum solo winrate that reasonably cvan be achieved when playing optimal) and that's about it. You can rake in a million hypothesis and arguments but looking at the numbers is the simplest way to figure this out without having to get dragged intoa swamp of fallacies and insinuations. It's not that difficult. If you want to have your own opinion on BBs being the second easiest class to hardcarry in right behind carriers, go ahead and make a mockery out of yourself. And as I already hinted at before, making up stuff for 12v12 by extrapolating from a 1v1 mode which functions totally different with regards to the influence you can probably project when playing optimal simply doesn't work. And I'm pretty sure @DariusJacek is a grown up person who can stand up for themselves

AFK players (result of "stuck in loading" bug)
NothingButTheRain replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
This happens to me now and again for some reason. Usually when I see I'm stuck at the loading screen for a minute or so, I force exit the coient and reload it. This is usually the faster solution to not miss out on too much. -
@DariusJacek Tell you what. If you upload a replay or 2 in which you believe you could have done better, I'll watch them and tell you what I think you could have done better

If someone accuses you of camping (especially if it's during the weekend or it's a potato himself), just ignore them. If they start bothering you (because of for instance mappinging or tryharding to get your attention because obviously your purpose in life is to obey their every command puke puke), report them and block them so you can play your own game and focus on that. As you already figured out, carrying in a BB is mostly team-RNG. Some games you will find it impossible to do anything useful for whatever reason. It's something I have trouble with and I find playing DD much easier to actually do anything meaningfull that isn't just farming damage. Of course with any ship that isn't a CV, there's never any guarantee, but with spotting with a DD you can at least make the people feel somewhat more secure so they get off of their lazy hineys and start moving again (noboly likes to get torped by a staling DD for half the game) but in the end you will have to have some luck in getting any opportunity to exploit. I think watching someone like Flamu when playing BB could be helpful to you. Important is to know when to push, wait for the right moment because chances are you won't get the opportunity to get unspotted, let alone turn around your ship without giving broadside. And with ships like Smolensk you're probably gonna end up as an xp pinata sooner or later. At least try to make it worth it, but for this it would be advisable to play in a div so you have the guarantee that there's at least 1 or 2 non-gluesniffers on your team. Then there's also the basic stuff like knowing how to angle, knowing when to turn your turrets in what direction and knowing when to damacon. As a BB you don't have any get-outajail-free-cards like DDs (smoke and conceilment and speed and agility and being a small citadelless target) and CCs (mostly just conceilment and speed and maybe agility) have. Learing how to angle etc is one thing, imo the hard part is knowing where to be when.

1v1 ranked is about the worst comparison to the typical 12v12 we get in randoms. The carrying potentials are totally different, if only because in 1v1 things which typically are detrimental to BB influence like having the worst conceilment and not knowing where the enemies are which in the 1v1 format is a different ballgame with skills like RPF. And that apart from CV, BB is in your experience the most influential class in the game is total BS. Having the initiative is everything. This is even part of the reason why many DD players hate CVs so much, because it crumbles their conceilment into a little ball and stick em in some damp hole you get the picture. Honestly, I think you are just trolling. Or you are talking from your personal experience with regard to gameplay (fully disregarding everyone except your own gameplay), but this would make your rebucal of Optimal_909 uncalled for, for he has just as much right to his personal opinion as you have. Just look up the overall solo winrate numbers and clearly CV is #1 with DD being the #2. BB is last after CC. And 1v1 ranked cannot be compared to random battles, yet this is what you are doing. Kinda lame.

This I would also want to know btw

Want to know why WG is adding so much new Russian stuff - RU Server player numbers down 30-35% since 2015!
NothingButTheRain replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Just put them side by side, these russian cruisers and their contemporaries. Blaming the hungry piranas I mentioned earlier is mostly a cop-out in this particular situation. -

Flambass and Flamu pulled the (lack of) words right out of my mouth. I don't know what else to say. This is russian bias right there. Put them side by side with any contemporary and there it is in all its biased glory. This is ridiculous. -

I happened to have checked the premium shops in both EU and RU like a week ago? And on RU prices seem already like 25% lower compared to here. And why should they even be cheaper there, most of the money is spend on Russian wages, right? What difference does it make to them if their rubels come from my pocket or from some russian person? I may live here, but I am far from being a rich person with like €50 maximum I have to spare each month and from this I have to pay all of the extras like paying for a new bike, not just for gaming and going out. So it would help me out greatly if I were able to pay Russian prices despite me not living here. For someone who has €500 a month to spend, the 25% difference would be mere luxury compared. -

I've mentioned this a couple times in the past, but for WG (at least for the WOWS part with which I am now most familiar with) it can be one heck of a task to listen to the correct people and to filter out the junk. Sometimes the community seems more similar to a raging swarm of hungry piranas and less like an organised mob, so to say. Of course it's gonna be tricky to figure out who to listen to. And WG does listen, or at least they have in the past. They even tried to rebalance some of the old premiums but I feel like this failed over how the now nerfed premiums were gonna get settled (mostly about money) and this is a real shame. My latest couple runs with the ARP Kongos was often ruined by all but one match having a Kamikaze in the game. Almost every match had a kamikaze! But the question is also if WG would end up nerfing the right ships at all. I mean just look at Stalingrad and how it is almost a mandatory ship in cb for a long time now, with its ridiculous 12km radar. But some of the projects they initiated were based on player feedback. CV rework. Radar rework. Hooking into the awesome torp game mode of last year's april fools that created savage battles which imo surpassed it's origin, Sunray in the Darkness post-CV rework which I played 3 consecutive years now and would for me be a reason to reinstall if I ever were to quit. They do listen, but their jobs aren't easy. -
What do former WoT players think of WoWs?
NothingButTheRain replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
Btw, would be interesting to see what WoT players currently think of WoWS. Gonna get mostly 'minireviews' of people preferring WoWS over WoT due to this question being posted here. -

Double bush camping with a TD hasn't been a thing in WoT for a lot of years now. Neverforget the magical forest! -

I can definitely see where you're coming from here. WoT had a lot of potential but apparently WG mostly looked at its potential to monetisation or something. And last few times I tried it again (mostly to collect some rewards due to my account being quite old by todays standards) I would have fun initially despite me being rusty as Bismarck is now, but within a couple hours things would turn sour till I couldn't stand it anymore. Last time I quite literally rage-uninstalled WoT. World Of Tears yes. -
