Narai will return in 0.9.3. But the BXP-payout has been neutered.
NothingButTheRain replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I started playing in divisions because of the significant amounts of f*********ers and slackers (and sometimes trollers like the ones pushing the carrier into an island in raptor or 4 of the 6 plebs rushing the transports in narai and KW and the occasional afk-dude). The farming benefits only came later, I kinda rolled into that, but also because I like to improve myself and get better. But why get better if I gain nothing significant from it? -

WG sold 2 scharnhorsts extra because I advised my friends to do so because these ships make sens for narai. About a week ago one of these friends asked me whether he should get the atlanta and I adviced him not to do so. Sure, Atlanta is fun and even I surprised myself with how well I could play this ship when I took it back to randoms some months ago. But back then I had a 19pt captain for Atlanta (Atlanta really needs at least 18pt to make her effective) and back then she made sense because of narai. A couple months ago I advised this same friend to not get Atlanta but something like Boise if it was available, because of narai. Another friend got Ashitaka with the Kobayashi-something camo, because of narai because he can't make it work in randoms. He will probably not be getting Nelson now, because he will not be happy about narai getting this economy nerf (and tbf, he is kinda a really poor player so his economic rewards were very lackluster anyway, but he made due due to the signals and camos he had bought previously). The interest is really there. I guess that most people play randoms because that is what most people know (and perhaps also what wows is advertised as?). I guess that in the end it's also a numbersgame. -

Ahh yes, I still remember playing Cleve in tier 6 operations! I was still a newb back then , working on my 1st 19pt captain. And look at me now! Lately I farmed only casually, usually not even decking out fully or just going for the credits or the daily missions (mostly the daily missions actually). KW and Sunray (easiest game mode) I actually preferred to play solo over a div as it felt good to be able to carry on my own (even though often (like more then half the times) I would not be able to) and this gave me a sense of accomplishment, being able to beat the odds. But of course I also wanna get somewhere, which brings me to the economical rewards. Sure, it's kinda fun having a good collection of Major Contributions and whatsnot as this gives a sense of accomplishment, but contrary to the randombattle rewards, these don't give anything else but bragging rights (no extra signals etc). I fear this nerf will be the death of organised operations farms, the ingame local pub I enjoy so much will be closing its doors again. -60% imo is just too much. Most people don't even like operations enough as it is and prefer to play ranked because that mode at least gives tons of steel. But many sure as heck wouldn't play ranked if the economical rewards would be as crummy as the operation's rewards are these days and this will just get amplified by this upcoming nerf. I don't really know what else to say about this right now. In a way, in this game we work to get accomplishments and to get somewhere. What's the point of work, if you don't get paid? Sure it can be fun, but sooner or later there will come this feeling nagging about how pointless it really is. This change will make coop better and coop is also much more boring especially since the human interactions that come with forming a group and negotiating the roles are not there. -
Very brave of you that you are still trying! Good luck

Iirc the reinforcement waves were sped up for aegis and not for newport. And it certainly has not been rebalanced as a battleship mission (no idea where you got that idea from, but better be more strict concerning the accuracy of statements made by this source you took this information from).
-
Yes, with an organised div it is doable but even then most people don't seem to like it. With random plebs, you can basically forget about getting any stars. You'll probably get 3 at the most if you're lucky.

Yes, but now they are basically gutting the economics. Even when playing kw solo I still get maybe 1500 BXP for a 5 star win if my team doesn't potato (which they often do) and next patch I'm gonna get 600 BXP for this as the most optimal outcome? Tier 6 operations are pretty crummy as is right now. EDIT: And to clarify with what I mean, I mean with me being able to carry these sascks of potatoes with the postbattle BXP list looking something like this: Me: 1500 BXP Guy#1: 1000 BXP Guy#2: 900 BXP Guy#3: 600 BXP ... Guy#Last: 0 BXP because he went afk So I get rewarded for working for the win since I typically prefer to play KW and Sunray alone Part of this game is about grind, where's the grind here? I'd love a hard mode, but with all the economy nerfs, perhaps WG should consider nerfing economics for ranked and clan battle as well? If I wanted only PvP, I could have stayed in WoT. For me PvE is an essential component in virtually any game that I like to play these days. The PvP is imo just extras.- 137 replies

With 7 people and 700 BXP, you might as well just spam coop. Or is WG gonna nerf this game mode now too? I barely ever even played narai with 4, always 5 or 6 due to there always being a potato on board. I tried with randoms but those are just too unpredictable (and thus too frustrating). I made the mistake of using a couple of the chinese camos in randoms and really hated my hard earned camos go to waste simply because of a topclan div in the enemy team, so I'm never gonna do that again. And making the tier 6 operations even less worthwhile? The only advantage I can see here is that even the n00bs may start avoiding operations more, but good players will now also avoid it more as well. And playing randoms alone will never be enough to keep me interested. -
Personally if I had to choose between either Georgia or Alaska, I think I would go for the Georgia. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Alaska, but imo the Georgia is simply a better ship. If I absolutely HAD to pick between JB and Georgia, it would be very close but I would still pick the Georgia because I feel the faster heals makes it edge out on the JB but only slightly. For me, JB and Georgia play very similarly while Alaska really plays like a USN supercruiser while being able to play the role of stand-in brawler, if the need arises later in the match. (Georgia btw fills this spot in well as well) However, OP already has the JB, so it's gonna be a tough choice. Perhaps go for the Georgia as the coal you will save is arguably more flexible to use compared to the FXP you'd need for the Alaska. I own all 3 ships btw and I like all 3 as well. There doesn't seem like any of these 3 is a bad pick. I mean, even if Georgia would be my 1st pick over JB (but ever so slightly), JB undeniably has the advantage of being a French ship which includes being able to use JB for missions that require ships played by the French nation navy thingy where Georgia and Alaska are both murican. Tough choice. Perhaps let it depend on secondary things like the coal vs FXP thingy. Good luck with whatever it is you will pick! @NemesisCRO

Something about CC and dev blog changes on reddit given to CCs
NothingButTheRain replied to howardxu_23's topic in General Discussion
There is plenty of people who are basically constantly overly critical to (lets say) every coffee mug the game devs drink from and see it as some sort of bias. And then they come here to complain about it. Heck, there's people complaining about something just so they have something to complain about. I suppose that that's just how they roll -

Tanks on eu seemed to have wayyyy fewer players on average the couple days I played it (I logged in for the superhellcat, basically) and I can tell you that World of Tears has vastly imrpoved since the last time I played it due to me not having received a single deaththreat post-battle in the few days I played it, not even once! Now THAT I call a real leap forward! I didn't think WoT could do it, but they got me playing for more then a single day without rage-uninstalling it, now wowwwwwww, I'm impressed! WoT still sucks though, if only because you actually have to PAY for a mandatory skill like the one that lets you know when you are spotted. And there's no coop nor any operations and these grand battles are only for tier 10 tanks iirc. (Almost forgot to mention, in WoT you can't enter a training room match alone, so you need to add a human player if you want to explore a map while in WoWS you can put an idle bot on the enemy team and explore to your hearth's delight). The amount of illnesses mentioned in the team chat (all-chat is still removed from the game entirely due to abuse apparently) seemed kinda like how much it was before and there's a lot of map ping spamming. Also seemed fewer things like someone pushing you down a cliff because you are taking their spot etc, but maybe I was just lucky And you get pop=ups in the garage for premium tank sales or something. They basically camoed it like 'news from the front' or something. I found them annoying so I perpetually clicked them away. But the total lack of death threats in the garage in just a couple days, god damn, that's the biggest surprise to me right there.- 58 replies

Expiration date legendary upgrades still 12-03?
NothingButTheRain posted a topic in General Discussion
I thought WG had decided to delay the expiration date of the legendary upgrades in 2020 to the end of the year before removing these missions altogether? Why are they still set to expire on 12 of march this year? I want to know whether it's worth it to me to try and finish off a couple at the least but in order to know what to expect, I would kinda need to know whether I have 12 months or just 2. Btw, I still think the removal of these missions is a stupid idea, but who cares right? -

There have been several people explaining how this works. Apparently these answers are not up to your standards but they are the best ones there are currently. One thing is for sure: it's not random. -
Kurfurst should have the biggest health in the game ?

But if it is heavier with a smaller displacement footprint, it should sit deeper in the water and thus be slower and harder to manoeuver due to water resistance. Possibly would also have worse seakeeping which could result in it being a less stable gun platform. -

Yes this is true. But the problem I have with this is that this would mean that I either have to grind my hiney off for up to 4 weeks (or in this case having to also spend a large sum of fxp or spending doubloons in order to get the tokens and the ships that I would need) to remain competitive, or to have to grind my hiney off for who knows how long to get the 175k coal to get this same captain in order to remain competitive. The directives by themselves will not suffice to get all the tokens needed. Will also need to get all daily missions. If done in coop, this would cost me roughly 14 coop battles or so every day (or 16 if I am performing averagely) for weeks on end. And alongside this also play cb and operations with the people that I know from that scene and I wanna grind some ships which are not as good in coop or I wanna play some randoms which end up in losses so I have to play even longer just to get all the wins + bxp I need. And I also happen to like divving up from time to time as this is fun, but this may also distract from the goals I would need to set. It's not just the effort, it's also gonna cost me alongside it being not that enjoyable to me. Because obviously I am capable of handling these directives. That in itself is not the issue for me. It's the total package. -

It's because you don't understand how to play battleship (which you also now acknowledged), you will also not understand interclass balance and are thus not in a position to adequately comment on manners regarding interclass balancing, such as determining whether or not DDs as a class needs a nerf or not. -

This is actually a way to spot OP stuff. Something can be seen as OP when the only thing that can effectively counter him, is another one of him. But anyway... By the looks of it, you play almost exclusively DD , your most played cruiser is the Belfast and the stats of your high tier battleships looks like this: Yes, not a single tier 10 battleship played in randoms. You know nothing about balancing this game. You're just a biased DD main. How about you try playing some high tier battleship games for a change -

Like it's hard to torp a ship that can't even see you. And besides, I think you will need to elaborate on the difference part because at the core your explanation doesn't really say much. But let me elaborate a bit. The DD doesn't not have a hard time figuring out where the BB is as chances are good he will get spotted before the DDs even get into the caps for the first time. The BB is probably gonna be near one of the caps so this difficulty you speak of is really arbitrary here. BBs are really not very suited to shoot DDs, so if the DD you are supporting gets dakka-ed 100% to ded within 10 seconds, chances are the BB won't even be able to turn his turrets fast enough or get a shot off. AP or HE, a BB is very unlikely to get a kill in a single salvo. If your escorting DD is dead, the BB is toast provided the DD knows how to play. Now lets see what you are typing here. The DD certainly didn't have to do much more out of the ordinary to get the BB in a farmable spot for him. And obviously having just 1 BB is a letdown for an Asashio player, but he can still be useful while having fun. For the BB, it's not gonna be fun at all. Well perhaps he can blap some cruisers or something but he will be severely limited. Sure, a DD can get oneshotted as easy as blowing down a house of cards, sucha tragedy. We gotta buff DD survivability rightaway! -

Didn't it require like virtually all daily missions as well? Because that's still hours a day for weeks and I need to pick my battles here regarding where I invest my time. I'm not gonna get him for 175k coal either btw, that's way too expensive for my tastes. And I'm not very fond if this concept of these super captains anyway. -
I know the bonusses of almost all of the camos from top of my head anyway, but that mod is nice indeed The mod with the ship stats, I guess I missed it with my last install but I should be fine without it.

The concerning direction that Directives are taking
NothingButTheRain replied to Munchboii's topic in General Discussion
I think having campaigns for each of these supercaptains would be an awesome addition to the game And the supercontainers were also nice as they gave a nice stack of camos which I could actually use without depleting them too quickly. It would at least take a long while to complete them. I'm pretty sure there are some that can complete an entire campaign within 24 hours but they then might as well add a triggerable timegate or something that after having completed one stage, the next one will take a week to unlock or something since WG is an expert at timegating stuff anyway And I like the campaigns as I can also get some nice stuff from them, like the american camos with the 125% xp boost. They could even make a chain of campaigns with reward ships like the Shinonome campaign even though this idea is actually already implemented in WoT and I don't really wanna touch that one again.
