If anyone has any actual advice without all the salt on how to play battleships when bottom tiered and what I should watch out for, feel free to enlighten me as I know I have much I could improve :) I will not eat any food that is too unhealthy for consumption, thank you :P Perhaps I could upload a few other replays? That one was maybe a bit too bad and I think my stats will show that I'm not THAT bad with the Kongo :( I know it's a powerful ship, I just don't really know how to use it properly. Rushing in usually gets me killed quickly so I'd rather not be careless, even when bottom tiered with a tier 5 ship :)

Hi. I'm really sorry but that's too much salt and not enough substance. Do you really expect that adding some more salt will help me improve my playstyle? I even specifically created this topic because I know that being bottom tiered at tier 5 and doing the yolo thing someone else mentioned here is bad bad bad. And I listened to them and my gameplay in the cuiser has improved. But I can guarantee that the amount of salt you pour into this discussion will never make me play any better. The comments about what I did wrong and what I should do right about my cruiser gameplay has actually improved how I play cruiser. However, my gameplay with battleships and especially destroyers leave much to be desired. Now you're telling me that I should bloody fight for once while only watching my probably worst game I ever had in the Kongo will not motivate me and neither will the standard "DUNT CAMP AT THE EDGE!". People here even told me to play more a support role and not yolo in as that is what got me killed a lot. I'm really sorry to have to inform you that the amount of salt made your post too salty for healthy consumption and I will not take it at heart, I have enough trouble as it is reading the map and not yoloing into torpedo walls and such. It only adds to the confusion and that's not helping. And don't tell me that kind of chat will actually help anyone, newbies have to be guided a bit and harassing newbies in chat never really works. heck, you even mention yourself that I was more busy with typing then with steering my ship, which is the reason my situational awareness went all the way to the bottom and I started capping when we needed a kill instead. But of course you don't mind, people will change their evil ways if you just yell at them enough, right? Really dude, "They only pointed out what you did wrong." is NOT the only thing they did.

So I have another now for this topic and now it's about BBs. And particularly the Kongo. First of all, I really like Kongo! But it has one disadvantage, due to the way I play it, I tend to keep my distance in the opening fase of a battle. Later on I go in closer and start doing the battleship stuff. However, I don't really know what's optimum for Kongo and especially when being bottom tiered. Due to its range I'll keep my distance at the start of the battle and use my range. But the Kongo does tent to not make my teammates happy as they think I'm camping. I just had a battle where I was bottom tiered along with a Texas while the rest was tier 6 and 7. The amount of chathate I got was so distracting that I actually did not notice that the enemy was getting near to 1000 points as I was about to cap. And on top of that, I got reported twice xD I did refer them to the official forums as they seemed to demand some answer to me being a potatoe player, which someone else noticed at the start so I don't really see how they can expect me to play well being bottom tiered and being hated in chat. Now I did have a bad battle, but the hating doesn't seem to relate to my performance that much. Another battle I was playing in a similar way (keeping my distance and using my range at first, then going in once the battlefield starts getting more empty) and someone else started complaining and asked me if I had 4k damage. I answered truthfully that I had 54k damage (or something along those lines, his estimate was way off). I ended up barely missing out on a kraken but at least I didn't get reported. Kongo is bad for my karma, it's back at 0 again xD And frankly they didn't teach me ANYTHING, except trying to distract me and not even listening to me when I told them that I was busy. I thought they were just being uninformed but they were just hating. Sorry for them for being a bad player when I get hated in the chat. How can I set them to ignore? Funny how I first read this topic and then go play my first ship for today and our only CV player is afk. I'm not sure if he started to move after he had been detected by the red onslaught as I was busy evading shells and failing xD

I prefer the new tech tree over the old one. It's easier to use as an overview and now I don't have to click or mouse over as much as I used to have to. I would stil like info like standard purchase price to also be viewable after I bought a ship, so I don't ahve to look up on a wiki if I wanna tell some friend how expensive any particular ship was.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I noticed the mission Raptor CV escorting, the voices seem to say things that don't belong there?

How about something in between the controls of the carrier and the controls of the catapult planes? Just 5 keys to direct if the planes should scout at the front, the back, left side or right side of the ship. If nothing selected, fly just like a catapult plane. This way you'll have some more area to send planes to without having all of the freedom a CV has but the planes have to stay close to the mothership. For me even catapult planes can spoil my fun of surprising a lonely cruiser at the far side of an island due to it spotting me xD

Unless they only keep playing on the test server as long as they'll get some reward. The time spend on the test server that doesn't yield any rewards may be at the cost of the time doing your daily 50% on the live server. Personally I wouldn't mind the test server being available at all times, but it would be a shame if it were impossible to do any missions due to not enough people being online.

I think the problem with this may be that the amount of available people will spread out across more days, making it take more time before you get into a battle. I actually like the idea about the supercontainers. Last time I actually gotten a supercontainer on the test server and it granted me the speed boost module. Great fun! ^^

Maybe not give her the full CV interface but something like an area guard where it will attack the first enemy who enters said area? And a button so the planes will circle you similar to catapult aircraft.

No I think this basically sums it up. I was kinda hoping there was some neet trick or something that I had missed.

I think it's obvious that it's highly unlikely that ColonelPete and Affeks were referring to "learn how to shoot into smoke" by "dude your mouse has a button!".

So how does one shoot into smoke?

If you want a tanky slow ship without torps and good AA, why not go for a battleship? I had the same thought.

What will happen to the New Orleans tier 8 cruiser camo from the WG anniversary? Obviously I don't have the New Orleans yet as I'm still grinding my Cleveland, but would want to know if I should get the Cleveland camo now, or not because the current tier 8 anniversary camo will remain on tier 8?

Finally managed to surpass 1m damage playing the halloween event using the DD. Unfortunately it was a loss! The closest ever :( I finally managed to destroy the Gorgon and I kept the entire enemy airwing busy, but I was still near that gate. After seeing I surpassed the 1m mark I of course was very happy, but I needed to rush to defend the last tower. The last tower was close to being destroyed, but we had just over 20 seconds on the clock and 1 other teammate was still alive. Then an enemy full HP cruiser appeared from behind an island and surprised me. Then a second later or so I was the last remaining teammember alive. I managed to torpedo the cruiser but I don't think I managed to kill it but in return it gave me a spread of torps I could never avoid. I died at 5 seconds before the end of the mission, 1.1m damage and a loss xD It was unexpected, but still fun to do. I make it my mission to destroy the Gorgon with a DD, just because it's a challenge to me :P Funnily I still made a loss that game.

So basically the existing Cleveland will be removed from under my arse and a new ship put there instead, where all my XP and upgrades and captain of the Cleveland was and a brand new cloned stock tier 8 cleveland will be put into my harbor? Something like that?

And how do they know this?

I'm currently grinding the Cleveland and am at around 15k XP. What will happen to this XP after the split? Does it make sense to complete the grind of Cleveland or will all the XP I have on Cleveland now be lost when it gets moved to tier 8?

To add to the above, some examples of more advanced tips could be to give some information about the extra upgrade slots that higher tiers unlock or abilities that one didn't have yet when playing the lower tiers. The old tips rushed by too quickly and it would be nice to have a repository of all these tips ingame? I'm not sure if there already is a list of tips. Some times I would read something interesting but then the battle starts, and I can't find the rest of the tip anywhere xD

Hi. Occasionally I will play a battle and hear the music and find the track that is being played very pleasing to the ears! But I discovered that WOWS has a gigantic number of songs and wading through all of these is very painstaking when doing this with any regularity. Is there some list of which maps have which songs so I can at least find out what the song is called that I'm looking for?

Same thing happened to me, including for the first halloween event. Best thing you can all do now is try again as you only need to get 5 stars once. If you can assemble a team of 6 decent players, it's actually fairly easy to beat the scenario within a few tries. Lately teams seem to have gotten better as well and this event lasts 2 weeks total.

What did they change?

I was guessing that, while inside the filth, the Gorgon has some damage multiplier of roughly 0.33 or so. O did do a lot of fire and flooding damage, but I'd have to rewatch the replay which I attached in case anyone wants to watch it for whatever reason.
