I have the suspicion that is does actually grant at least XP. Same as with capping. I've had some extremely low damage games in which I still was like 2nd and 3rd, sometimes even 1st in my team. And I mean with puny amounts of damage like under 10k in tier 8 DD (one time even like 3.something k). Now I can fully understand that this well...convoying, it's not for everyone. It totally isn't! It is for me, but that's just a personal thing I guess. I like playing support in all kinds of games so it has an appeal to me. I also got a ton of premium days remaining and a shitload of FXP and credits that right now I could just buy anything I wanted. The added benefit of this is that this has made me less toxic when having to deal with bad teams. I loose XP for a ship I want to unlock but can't win due to shitty teams? No problem, I'll just throw some FXP into it and we're done. Wasted some nice credit signals or FXP signals because I had an asshat div mate on my team again? No problem, I don't really care about the loss as the loss is kinda puny for me anyway. I'm really enjoying the game more from the moment I "cashed in" on the carriers and the PEF I had bought, because I depend less on my team for succes. No succes? I can just buy my succes and have fun and laugh off this lemmingtrain of my team now. And in the end it's supposed to be fun, right? I still grind as I believe this is part of the experience, but I don't actually need to anymore. Right now Killer Whale is back so I'm playing both my carriers there, just to see how I can make them work in there. And if not? Then I'll play some other class or other game mode. I don't limit myself to any playstyle or gamemode and usually a nerf to one is a buff to the other. Ends up always being win win for me, provided I am flexible enough to adapt and find new ways to enjoy the game. -

Iowa had an internal armored belt, but the 33 knots is kinda strange. Frankly, I hope it's not an Iowa hulled ship as that ship's got very poor handling and is I think the main reason I don't perform well in them. Otherwise...I'm surprised to see this ship and am interested in seeing what this will become. Frankly I have no idea. Monarch didn't need any nerf, but I'm interested in what this will do for this ship. I'm glad that Conqueror is not getting a straight up nerf as it's really not overperforming anyway. -
Thanks. And if this is the case, then reporting someone for AFK does in fact do something. The only questions are: Is the negrep having any actual effect? (if it's already 0 it won't do anything) and does the negrepped person case about karma at all? (if not then obviously it wil do nothing).

I assume there to be the possibility of retraction of karma, as I was wondering if Wilkatis meant that it did nothing in the sense of getting someone chat banned or anything or that it did nothing in the sense that it literally did nothing (also not lowering karma). I was under the assumtion that negrepping for afk did at least lower karma. As I'm not sure, I asked Wilkatis if he could inform me about it.

I haven't installed the latest patch yet. Btw rushing a cap was kinda doable if the carrier was 2 tiers below you and you have pretty good AA for a DD. But I would lose some hp, so it was kinda only useful for if I wanted to complete a "Kill xx number of planes with a DD" quick or something. But this was back in 8.0.1 or so, so also not an answer to your actual question. -
For some reason coop is a bad place for carriers right now. But you are taking a tier 10 (most expensive ship to take out to sea) into coop (which has the least rewards in both xp and economics). Tier 10 ships are supposed to be expensive to use.

And this is why I was opposed to the AP pen nerf for BBs vs DDs. As now BBs will usually have AP loaded (except maybe the HE spamming n00bs perhaps and the brit BBs), this was a clear buff to yolotorp behavior. I kinda already forgot about my CVs and didn't find enemy CVs to be that much of a threat to me anyway. But if this makes my DD grind even easier, sure wargaming, I'll take it then -
I think I like your ideal I don't know about the quoting bit. I was talking about something I had stated clearly before. But anyway it should be cleared up now.

The reference you were quoting of me was about AA cruisers getting nuked before the rework. I thought I should clarify this. EDIT: This is what you were responding to: I was clearly talking about AA cruisers before the rework and you changed it into AA cruisers in 8.0.2. I hope I clarified enough now what you were misunderstanding.

I think that line was pretty hard at the lower tiers. I mostly got to tier 8 in both lines as I grinded Minsk in dynamo :P Iirc both lines get the ability to have longer ranged torpedos from there. I think the RU DDs are a bit specific in what they are supposed to be used for, but I haven't really delved deep into the matter yet so I don't really know much about high tier RU DD gameplay.

I have adressed this point about the Mino. I just haven't adressed it in the way that you wanted. Yes I'm pretty sure you have some replays about a DD making some bad plays that end up killing him. I don't really see your point, what is it supposed to change? -
You misunderstood. It was actually obvious that these AA ships needed a buff vs the strike strength of CVs The thing is that maybe WG should focus a bit less on keeping the strike potential of CVs in tac and nerfing their accuracy, and maybe keep the accuracy but nerf the raw strike power? Btw I liked the old catapult fighters more. I even took the 2x cata fighters on many ships as I also found it cool how they circled and spotted for me

They get longer range from tier 8 or so. And all other nations also have longer torp ranges. I suppose that is what you meant?

It has adressed some of the issues I was having with CVs. Like having an experienced Saipan in the enemy team ina 3-man div vs this n00b Ranger in my own team CVs have much less influence now, especially regarding being able to be everywhere at the same time. But I'm not happy about the route they are taking CVs into. I'm rather have planes that are more fun to play (especially the dodging of flaks or making some nice moves to get an attack in) and be punished or limited in the rate at which planes replenish or lowering the amount of planes that take off in a single group. I think I'd even be happy with having not 3 or so attacks from a single squadron, but just a single one. The planes are so fast, I can be back at where I left in hardly any time anyway. But that's just my personal taste of what I'd find fun gameplay. And if for instance rocket planes keep their accuracy and ability to spot DDs, but can attack not 3 or 4 times but only once, I'd be fine with this more I think then nerfing all the weapons a carrier has at its disposal but the weapons not being fun to use anymore.

The thing with the being forced to position differently is something that happens all the time anyway and happens with any class. It's not something peculiar by itself. And personally I don't really mind. I actually like the thinking work required to make DD gameplay work in CV conditions and I rarely get killed by the enemy CV. And lategame you can loosen the leash more and having balls is really helpful here. Endgame is not set, it's usually much more messy. There are people who still make the IJN torpboats work. I still see quite a lot of Shimas. Don't ask me how that gameplay is, I can only comment on my gameplay as a gunboat in current CV meta I'm currently at tier 7 in both IJN DD lines and not actively grinding them atm as I already have so many lines to grind. -

This is a bit odd, because the DD does have a LOT of raw firepower. It's the torps. I have mentioned an engagement I had with an enemy Conqueror when I was in my Benson somewhere on the forums already. It ended with me torping him into oblivion from close range while he blapped me in the face with Conq HE from close range. I lost both my torpedo tubes but I lived while he lost his life. And I was a tier 8 vs him a tier 10. DDs have plenty raw firepower right there. And I didn't even get to use my conceilment advantage, I had to use an island to dictate the moment of the engagement as the Conq tried to push into a cap. And BB AP? That's basically a guarantee for me that he won't be able to kill me unless it's with secondaries or something. The answer was to "just switch ammo type", but the "just" here is not. DDs already have the conceilment advantage and in my opinion a spotted DD is supposed to get punished. But of course with the current rework, this is not as much an issue as I get a lot more spotted atm due to so many people playing carrier atm. I was not a fan of the BB AP changes, but I'll just make the best of it. -

The trick to sinking a CV with a DD is to trigger damacon, then start a permaflood. Or has this changed recently? I don't get to sink that many carriers anyway. -
