I'd say Asashio would come close, as its torps hurt no matter what tier BB it hits. Ships in which I don't really care about tier also include ships like Charles Martel (the tier 9 one was not as good I think) and benson. I haven't played CM in a while tho. I'd say ships with better conceilment will generally speaking mind being uptiered less.

How many Krakens do you have?
NothingButTheRain replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in General Discussion
21 Krakens I got 13 Minikrakens and 333 Natural Selection. And 39 Major Contributions. 68 Confederate, 184 Dreadnought and I got one Solo Warrior (and was not in a CV ) and 2 Die-Hards -
ST, CVs, Georgia, Monarch, Conqueror

WIll you also monitor the effectiveness of the new Conqueror heal regarding her already quite weak armor (which will eat a lot of pen damage and already eats citadels from long ranges) and her heals becoming ineffective once the citadel damage has stacked up, like it is on Nelson? Frankly, this makes Nelson a lot weaker and the heals not very useful as Nelson east citadels from almost any angle. -

Could anyone care to explain to me why Iowa dispersion seems so bad? I made some screenshots along with some rough calculations to show you what I mean. Perhaps some of the more competent forumites can check these out, like for instance @Klopirat and @ColonelPete or some others that are good with things like numbers, dispersion and sigma and whatsnot. For a longer time I'm getting very bad dispersion and or shell grouping when playing Iowa and Missouri. The screenshots were from a game earlier today while I was shooting a basically stationary Yamato. My shells have the red tracers. I later went into the training room so I could estimate the distances measured first in pixels and later transcribed into meters and kilometers. All screenshots were from the same game and all was from my front turrets, and locked on. This just doesn't seem right. Even Bismarck seems to have better accuracy than this. Any idea what is going on here?

Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?
NothingButTheRain replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
The rework certainly changed a lot of things, but I wouldn't call the post-rework DD gameplay boring. Often it starts getting exciting 30 seconds or so after the match has started -
Yes I do run the 11% dispersion module. I know about having lucky and unlucky dispersion. Iowas seems disproportionately poor but then again, I have not made any measurements as this would be quite time-consuming and I have more important things to waste my time on. I kinda followed that debate and was basically fine with the conclusion, even though Iowa dispersion seems significantly more wonky. Wasn't it supposed to have relatively good dispersion? And about the testing, the problem might be that it does not occur in controlled conditions as some other effect might influence this in certain (but unknown to us) condition. Kinda like you already mentioned here. Iirc WG did release a couple videos of how stuff works, but frankly...I just got home and I can't be arsed to go look it up now as, like you also mentioned, I have no influence on this anyway. it still baffles me that the shells can land this far apart, even further then the ingame mentioned maximum. And I mean by a significant margin. At some point I'll get to Montana and then I won't be affected by it anymore anyway (unless it also affects Missouri, but whatever). Yes, I've read those conspiracy theories and frankly ...well, lets just say *100 Ty for your time, ColonelPete.

I don't appreciate your insults. It's the sole reason why I also blocked you ingame, in case you hand't noticed. I thought the screenshots I assembled were already large enough, so I didn't include the minimaps, but good call. I have included them now in the following screenshot compilation. Any idea what is going on here?

Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?
NothingButTheRain replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
I'm wondering why you are wondering about this, especially since I stated several times that I actually also want to play CV and am disliking the current implementation and how I basically stopped playing Shokaku altogether. What am I not understanding? Just fyi, don't bother mixing up understanding and agreeing with as these 2 are not the same. -

I tried to look it up quickly, but couldn't find it. Perhaps I mixed up something and if so, my apologies for that. I'll comment later perhaps, I'm in a bit of a rush right now. -

My apologies, I don't have time to read everything at this moment, but what you state here is not a fact, but just an opinion. If there were no strategies, then everything about DD gameplay would be random, right? -

NothingButTheRain replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
No you didn't. And no it's not the same and no it doesn't mean the same. This is closer, but still not what I meant within that context. Would you want me to elaborate again? It is about a certain breed of DD players that basically can't adapt and want to be able to yolo with inpunity. The type of DD player that can't play around radar and come cry on the forums demaning a nerf and the type of DD player that blames everyone and their mothers for their inability and unwillingness to learn, improve and adapt. -

Wrong line of reasoning. Especially since these blobs have always been a thing. That's a thing about mongos and not carrier rework. And I was talking about DD gameplay strategy. I haven't taken out the other classes as much lately, but so far Iowa (which is basically the sole BB line I'm grinding right now) and Buffalo seem to be basically like they were before the rework. So no strategy was really changed for me for playing those 2 classes. Of course CV is totally different now, so that strategy has changed a lot. Lierally requires a rewrite now. I was telling about the spotting torp bit to convey my disagreement about your statement that DD is useless now if you can't leave your own teammates due to agressive carrier incursions and an example (and a rather fun example) is what happens in Haven on a carrier map. Would you want me to upload some replays or something? It seems as if you are totally oblivious to DD gameplay that can be effective when having a game with carriers in it, even though I would expect you to know about this already. DD gameplay is about yoloing to the nearest cap...in tiers 4 and below. But in the higher tiers it was never supposed to be that simple. -

I already explained to Ghostbuster, so I'd suggest you read my respons to him. And this has nothing to do with the rework anyway. I don't stay near the blobs because I'm one of them. I'm staying near the blob because usually my AA minion happens to be located there. And frankly most cruisers will in fact try to actively support me (mostly USN cruisers btw, as they like to camp near a rock anyway, which is also fun ) -

You misunderstood. Why would I call sucha thing a (valid) strategy? We both know your example is rather silly, so why are you expecting me to reference this as a strategy that I like? You clearly don't understand me, but I don't really mind. I didn't say I know everything better then you. I was merely stating my own versions of observations made from within the game and how I have tried to adapt to the current gameplay. And yes spotting torps may not be as glorious but it is still important. Just look at my most recent winrates, clearly I am understanding something better at DD gameplay compared to the average DD player, right? And yes it's basically all solo play so I'm doing all of this myself. I even posted screenshots on the forums here and there and have referenced my own stats several times. I even explained the way that I handle the most recent iterations of carrier meta and still I see people who's only feedback comes down to "MUH DD UNPLAYABAL! ". Well then it's probably on their end and it's probably the same mongos that have no clue what to do and blob up in a corner somewhere and blame their teammates for their own failures. -

I kind of have to agree with you here. Some streamers I often wonder if they are supporting the game or more their own followers? And some reviews I wonder if they weren't, like, over-optimistic about how good a certain bote is (PEF anyone?). I don't really understand why WG would sell a useless premium (garbagebote) but some ships are basically just...average. For balancing this is of course the best as noone will be complaining about them like they do complain about Stalingrad or something. Usually a premium which is special in some way will probably sell better, even if it is not OP (think ships like Scharnhorst and Atlanta and maybe Okhotnik and other such weirdbotes ) Making a fun premium is probably also harder then making an OP premium. And the definition of "fun" is also relative I suppose. What I also do before getting a premium is ask my clanmates. So far they were right about Scharnhorst -

Yes. Playing more conservatively is also just a strategy and is more a valid one right now. Not being able to go in yolo style to the nearest cap and choose a strategic position there is not the same as the game having less strategic gameplay, it's just too much confined to certain players and they don't see the other side here. They only see their confinement, perhaps because they are not used to this confinement. Like I said, I just adapt. Rocket planes getting a nerf? Fine, I go play DD more then. But I never lied when I mentioned liking the CV games more then the non-CV games partially because it is more chaotic (players being more insecure about how to proceed and making more mistakes that I can capitalise on) and I'm liking this. And if DDs are so badly hit by the first iterations of the rework then why am I so good at them? And no, I don't mean good as in unicum (even though most recent stats are often purple now), but I seem to perform better in DD then in classes I played a lot more games in even though DD is supposed to be harder to play even without carrier rounds). -

I usually stick close to an AA ship as long as I think that will help me survive longer and wait for opportunities. And you can actually be useful that way, even if the enemy DDs als stay closer to their teammates. On maps like Haven the DD knifefights will concentrate on the left bottm corner of the island chain and I found the fighting there to be pretty intense. And yes fun. And spotting torps for your teammates is also valuable, especially since non-DDs need more time to dodge them. But it's not like I can't do anything. Yes I can do less but being in a situation where one is more confines is not the same as being helpless. Yes, this is not for everyone, but a portion of those players are full of s**t anyway (like the people who do nothing but to cry about radar and conqueror and demand that everyone who doesn't play the way they play are just plebs with unpatchable brains or something). Many good and experienced CV players were (and maybe still are) also f**l of s**t. You must know this. But disregarding this little bit, WG probably did read it but they probably decided to disregard it or forget it was ever mentioned or something. Probably Fem already had closer connections to WG before she became an employee. I wasn't around back then so I don't really know. -

I forgot to mention. The meta is a bit more strategic right now and positioning is more important. Yoloing in is less effective and that is not everyone's bread and butter. I'm fine with either and the only thing I would care about is if I cannot have fun in the game anymore whatsoever. Half the operations are gone atm. But KW is also fun for me, especially right now. Maybe I'm just easier to satisfy. I dunno. But I see your points. And welcome back -

NothingButTheRain replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
Of course I have noticed many people not being satisfied with the rework. But many of them are full of s**t and s**t on my opinion and stance. Thus I can't really be bothered to care about their s**t. And I don't work for WG so I don't have to There are some in my clan that also don't like the rework and I think it's obvious that it could be described as "daring", to say the least. I understand why WG does it and I do believe what sub_octavian said about it. But he must also have known in advance that the path they are striding on right now will be a painful one. Of course it's gonna be messy and frankly they should s**k it *p (and I think they do actually, but of course expressed in less polarised wording then what I just did here). Part of this is their own past mistakes which are coming to bite them now (like the dreadfully and infuriatingly slow ui and them having released the rework with half the operations removed because the new AI was not finished or the OP premiums they released in the past) and again I think they should < insert polarised wording here >. But what can they do? Frankly I think the best way forward is to keep moving forward with this and don't mess up again. And to stay true to their words, promises and services and to not go narcistic towards us. Fem works for WG, so of course she's not gonna critisize her own employee too much. And yes I had noticed. But at least she isn't toxic -

NothingButTheRain replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
I think you seen it correctly regarding how and why players in ranked become toxic. It's actually part of the reason I usually don't even bother to try and make it all the way up to rank 1. It takes a lot of time (which may just as well kinda be wasted in the end) and often I don't like my teammates (especially the ones that try to throw a game at the start so they can save their star and the ones that need a spot on my blacklist). Usually women are also less toxic and there's a couple streaming wows as well (with Femennenly being the best known one). Also Notser and NoZoup seem to not be as toxic but all (including Flambass and Flamu) have their own flavores which one either likes or doesn't like. -
