But you will loose customers and viewers if it gets out of hand. There have got to be rules or it will slowly get too serious for what is supposed to be a mostly casual game in which one can log in and do a couple randoms/coop/operations quick. And thanks for the latter bit. I'll consider doing more reporting then, if it really helps :)

I didn't want to mention this earlier? But we both know I don't see this this way and there are plenty others who'd see it my way as well. What's next? Depression is a choice? Being bullied is a choice? That's all BS of course. But if you wanna keep believing that, fine, but don't go telling around as if this is some kind of truth or something. You don't like what I write and can't seem to want to absorb it or even think about it. That's why you seem to be ignoring most of it and is why you get very selective about these specifics.

I wasn't saying that you were Purposefully AFK is not as bad as purposefully and actively trying to be disruptive, as this is very close to deliberate teamkilling (which means you loose 2 ships instead of one and get the remaining 10 in turmoil, while the 1 AFK just sits there, often being noticed only much later during the match). Yes, I do understand the need to vent sometimes. I do it as well sometimes and some poeple do it too. it happens, sometimes everything seems to be against you for whatever twisted reason, I can see this and I also see this ingame. I usually don't use my composure over this (but of course I don't like this). But sometimes it's not even venting, but more like deliberately harrassing and namecalling which ruins the mood of the game and of course single persons cannot be prevented from happening all the time, but punishing this kind of behavior consistently will go a long way to prevent this kind of behavior from becoming some kind of plague (like it is in WoT these days). Good thing it's possible to mute such people (which I usually do, blacklist is nearing 200 individuals now ) but bad behavior tends to spread like an oil stain if not left in check and it will make some players turn away from the game. Some people seem to see toxic behavior as some kind of sports (how far can you go without getting a ban, look at how great I am an how dominating I am, whatever makes their clocks tick) but not everybody will appreciate this (sometimes not so subtle) minigame. Some twitch streamers are actually highly allergic to this and their loss will be a loss for WoWS. And about bans for people who talk trash in chat, personally I'd be fine with giving them the (in my eyes) appropriate chat ban and leave them play if they don't do anything else disruptive. But that's just me. EDIT I assume you meant "aren't excessively disproportionate"? And I'm not so sure about the stuff directed towards particular groups or you (as a group of moderaters) might want to to intervene more vs the whole BBaby thing for example. It's left unchecked and is in no way constructive at all.

You did not specify that with your "everyone", you only meant half the players in the "match" (and the match includes players of both teams, not just your own). So I was pretty clear. You were not. No need to go defensive on me having correctly interpreted what you literally said. I do agree with you that cheap wins are kinda lame. It feels more like an empty victory and even though I will farm these AFK ships myself if I get a chance, it's thankfully quite rare (but less rare in coop btw). I'm pretty sure you are smart enough to figure out on your own how disrupting someone's gameplay is easily compared to sabotaging gameplay. No need to explain you this. Yes, thank the gods there is a mute and report function but I think toxic chat should be attacked more globally, as it would otherwise become kinda meaningless to mute someone if it becomes something that happens all the time. Take WoT for example. Playing a single day in WoT one can get toxic messages back in the garage multiple times a day. It's become a habit and is tolerated in WoT. Sure you can go mute this person but the line of new blacklist fodder is an endless cue and you will enver be rid of this. One friend of mine at some point installed a mod so he could disable all chat completely. Imo this is not how WoWS should become.

Both are damaging to the game, so it makes sense to punish either of these actions. In the end it is the same. I do find it kinda too bad that there's no numbers released as to how many of these reports end up being used to punish someone, because right now it kinda feels like it's a waste of time or something due to the lack of feedback on how much impact these reports have on the game. I'm not sure tho if any such numbers were never released. I only remember something about some ban waves, but this may actually have been WoT and not WoWS.

Nah. He's not onto something here. Being toxic is often also meant to sabotage a match, so there's no real difference except in that it probably affects different individuals. But the end of the matter is that both are sabotaging to the match. Whether both are purposefully done to sabotage the match is of course a different matter.

Except that this is not true at all. if there's an AFK on the enemy team, it's usually the negatively affected teammates that will complain while for the reds it will be free XP and damage farm. So not everybody will feel bad about another player being AFK. And I'm not sure why you're supposing toxic behavior is never meant to sabotage a match. Of course it is. It's not all just venting of frustration.

I made some stats tables a few days ago and both Kutuzov and belfast basically came on top of their respective classes (I'm disregarding Flint for now as it is kinda out of place here), but not by as much a margin as ships like Stalingrad or Cesare or Nikolai or (in a somewhat other way) the tier 5 and tier 6 premium DDs. They are still very strong. They could actually survive a nerf BUT! I'd prefer WG to focus on the ships that are really broken (like Stalingrad and those DDs and Nikolai (I may have left out some ships)). But otoh...if these premiums are not OP anymore, I'd actually want WG to sell them again, if only for a short while so relatively new players have a shot at getting one again as these were removed for being OP, basically. I do want to put out a final note: Players who play these ships will often be rusty players coming back to the game after a long while and will likely drive down the stats of these ships so they may actually have weaker stats and look not-broken anymore. So I suspect that these ships may actually be more powerful than their stats show right now.

True, it does match you into tier 10 games. There is a benefit to not being top tier in a ship that is good for its tier, which I already explained.

JB is actually a good Rich and is not an Alsace (or Bourgogne). Missouri is actually a better Iowa (but only slightly, except for its credit earning potential which is good). The thing also is that you kinda need to balance them to ships in their own tier, as your ship will be pitted against a ship of the same tier. Musashi won't get matched to a Yamato but to Izumo while Kronstadt doesn't get matched to Stalingrad (as if that ship can be matched by anything but whatever), but to a Donskoi. Of course you are kinda still correct in what you say (especially Yamato and Kronstadt are really worse compared to their sisters of siblings), but it's the tier difference that is making all the difference here.

So you have these lines alraedy: Hindenburg Montanna Midway Minotaur Yamato I don't see any DD line. Personally I liked the USN DD line the most out of all the DD lines, but the RN DDs are also fun to play (but less so compared to USN when there's a carrier game and we both know the meta right now). I could also recommend the French cruisers and perhaps also French battleships. The French cruisers are all kinda similar in what they do and there isn't really a rotten apple in the line. The French battleships are imo a well balanced line which has a relatively fun gameplay once you reach tier 8 and get access to the speed boost (and speed boost for BB is a new ballgame which you may find veeery enjoyable ). I could also recommend the USN cruiser lines (personally I have a slight preference for CL instead of CA, but I'm an Atlanta fanboy...so... ). If you want something different from what you playes so far, you could also opt for the IHN cruisers as these are well..not always the strongest, but they are a bit more unique and have awkward turret anges and traverse and pretty good torps.

What I would do (if I had been in this battle myself) is to silently report the guy and move on. This game already eats so much time as it is and usually I can't be bothered to make a fuss about it if I'm not even reasonably sure it will actually have any effect. i'd rather spend my time playing the game and get frustrated less. So no, I will not comdemn this guy on the forums but obviously I don't approve of this. And yes, I do emphatise with this guy as bottom tier Shokaku again and again and againandagainandagainandagainandagain will get on most Shokauplayer's nerves. So I understand why he can get frustrated because of this, but that doesn't mean I think he should not accept the consequenses for his decision to kill himself and leave his team to rot.

So which part exactly am I actually wrong here? That this guy gets banned? because that was not what I was referencing here, it was the behavior Bear_Necessities had a problem with. You send MrConway the information by forum PM? Or by other means? I did use the customer support thing ocne when someone harrassed me even when I was already back in port. But since they never give out ANY information about if it was actually effective in some way (so I basically got no feedback back), it seemed kinda like unrewarding to report people this way.

True, but that happens and is not something we can really influence here. Except maybe report for AFK so he can't enter randoms for a while. This is actually the reason why I easily report pink afk players in coop as well, so they extend their ban to coop only as I believe they really need to learn to behave when playing randoms. it happens, schrug it off, report the guy, more often the afk person will be on the enemy team, ship happens, it's not really a big deal. There's so many nutters out there, better not have to worry about them or you may go nuts yourself

Well...... The problem with the direct comparisons as I've made them is that steel is generally speaking limited to players who have better performance. (this is also what makes Bourgogne harder to compare, so I selected JB as well and made it kinda part of the equation) I do recall Flamu reviewing this ship and saying it was broken compared to Atlanta (Flint that is) but Belfast is broken as well. or at laest it's top position when Flint is taken out of the equation. It's mostly the combination of radar and smoke and being able to take more upgrades for its tier and Flint can only do 1 of those 3. Good question. Some poeple will probably complain about ships being OP even though they are far from OP (for personal reasons, like not liking a certain playstyle or just wanting to ruin player's day because he hates HE spam or name whatever). People seem to get trigger quite heftily for stuff that is really more as if they are spoiled or something and would rahther see someone else loose a leg then themselves loose a toenail.

I had forgotten that that thing was there But at least my ship was pointing in the right direction and I didn't need to move, I thought this situation was prety hilarious I haven't figured out yet how to be very useful in Aegis withcarrier. Even in the RTS days it was never my favorite carrier ops. Oh well.

Some people like the ability to lob shells over hills and mountains and with the spotter plane view this is easier. It's also supposed to help with shooting in smoke,but I find I don't really need that and Musashi/Yamato I'll usually bring the fighters instead. And 26km is definitely enough range
