    Special skill captains

Yes, and I highlighted the part where it sais you don't have any 19pt captains, because if you do then you don't have to spend doubloons. You said that you did, so you cannot have any ECXP or you would have had an alternative to spending doubloons. The captains are probably specced for tier 1 ships because those are the default ships and everyone will have these (or can buy them back for free). That's just the way it is. WG will probably don't give you a free retraining as spending money for retraining is part of their monetisation model or whatever it is called.
  2. To me all nations are worth it, except that overall I find the German lines a bit meh.

I think your point is fair in a way, but you're missing important stuff in your comparison. You want a good car. But what makes a car good? More horsepower? Or do you want more room in your car so your groceries and kids can fit? You want to offroad or a car that is extremely good at parking in tight spots so you can get to your job easier? Or is a car better when it is cheaper for taxes or fuel or maintenance? Or you think a car is superior when it is more silent or has extra aiding software so your wife can park without wrecking it again? So what makes a car OP in your opinion? And personally, I bought GC also because it was strong but also because I had been wanting to get my hands on some Kongo-ish premium at tier 5 and this was the forst one available and not too expensive. But I end up playing my "mediocre" ships more because I think those are more enjoyable (like Scharnhorst and Atlanta. Both ships that are not OP but offer a unique playing style that make my time within the game overall more enjoyable). Now I would fully agree with you that it is stupid to buy a ship that is outright weak. But ships I find mediocre like Mutsu, I actually enjoy playing it from time to time (and I can use it in opserations as well). So I think you raise a fair point and it makes perfect sense from your perspective. But it's not for everyone and it's questionable to the game in that it may end up harming the game in the long run. If someone (with which I don't necessarily pointing at you) just wants OP stuff and ends up helping to wreck the game which the person having helped with the wrecking of the game doesn't care and simply moves to another game where he can purchase P2W ships or tanks or spacesmurfs or whatever, then I'd still choose to negate that person's opinion if it helps save the game as I (and many others) would prefer to stick with this game and see people who don't care about the game get the short end of the stick. Of course this would make us oppose each other's POV, as these priorities are very hard to sorta align with eachother.

    Special skill captains

I can highly advice you to get at least one 19pt captain so you can generate ECXP and retrain for free always
  5. I converted everything and am now at something over 1000 florins and with 1 crown left or so? I got Gurious but that was all I ever really wanted. I'll get to Implacable with its awesome looking camo eventually

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

Oh, but I do. I just don't division up with someone all the time since to me playing ops is mostly a way of relaxing and spending some time playing ina more relaxed fashion and trying to keep improving. Tomorrow we get KW again

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

The first team looked like this: And for reference another one with my own winrate replacing my IGN: And this was my very first battle with Furious in any ops and my 2nd or 3rd battle with Furious ever (the other one being a coop game), as well as me not having figured out the most optimal way to play this ops post-rework, so forgive me for not topping the list

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

There's just too many sacks of potatoes to carry. The screenshot I showed above can be accurately described as a typical example of the quality of the teammates you will be getting in randoms.

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

Just played another game, with Ryujo this time. And I knew something special was gonna happen when our first casualty appeared before the first attack wave was destroyed. Yes it was really that bad. Another loss. This is what my 2nd team looked like. The first team was better in that it at least had more then 2 people with higher then 45% winrate that didn't go afk or something (me included). But lets face it, this is just terrible. The first team looked only slightly better with the second highest winrate being barely below 50%

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

The torps are basically the only thing Ryujo has

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

You can toss those on one of the other stacks I suppose. And talking about being a n00b, anyone else having trouble getting the carrier inside one of the repair circles? I spend half the game moving forward and backwards again trying to click the right spot on the minimap which of course don't show the repair circles and the normal view from the carrier apparently also not showing my route like it still does with the other classes. I didn't manage to get in the repair circle at all Oh well, at least I managed to get like 130k dmg or so? Too bad it was a total loss. It seems to kinda work to make the bots try to evade your torps so they run themselves into islands and get themselves into a broadside position.

USS Georgia Model - Man those guns are longgggg

I do prefer paper ships over completely made up ships tho. To me it has to be at least kinda plausible. But I agree, THE main thing is that it's supposed to be fun (and plz no P2W, Wargaming )

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

Winrate does matter if it's the extremes (40% will never be good and often 60% will perform better and in worst case will be a selfish player who screams at how incompetent the teammates are after they died, but they know how to farm a lot of damage anyway) and usually >50% will perform at least reasonably even if they never done it before. And these will usually (but not always) follow up orders or tips about how to win the ops if told so, because they are usually smart enough to see the difference. Clan tag is irrelevant. And usually it will be the same players over and over again who are known to be reliable instead of being a liability as people who frequent the operations channel will know one another. From my experience, the best indicator is to look at someone's stash of operation specific awards. I particularly check if they have lots of them (and I mean like 300+ Natural Selection or 500+ Sea Star/ or 30+ Major Contributions or at least 100 to 200 Tactical Expertise and Assistant). Anyone with less of these awards in any category is just another operation's n00b in my book

Poll: How should WG handle overperforming premium ships?

Only the ships that were purchased in or directly marketed through the premium store. Which means problematic ships like the Stalingrad may still be changed.

And poor turret traverse and bad conceilment.
  16. I think this is a good analysis. This lack of self-critisism is visible not just in games but on social media as well. And I think it extends to outside just gaming. In the end it's just a way to legitimize getting more lazy. And then gamedevs (of any game) start dumbing down the game. But this is also about getting an audience. There's an insane number of great games out there these days and if you publish a game that requires people to get gud, these people you mention will simply think "This game is stooped! " and simply switch to another game and the publisher is without a lot of (potential) earnings.

Your favorite DD: Tier for tier

    2) Storozhevoy (torpmania) or Tachibana Lima because it's a premium with a camo that looks like ice cream 3) Wakatake (because halloween camo and 10pt cat commander) or Derzki (torpmania) 4) Clemson 5) Ohkotnik 6) Hatsuharu 7) Sims 8) Cossack/Lightning or Benson (all fit my playstyle very well but Benson has a halloween camo on top of that). 9) Black, but mostly because it's the only one I kinda have? (yes I got 2 more but neither even has a serious cap on them yet). For coop I also like to play Kiev (didn't make it on my list), but apparently tier 8 is actually my favorite DD tier lol Hatsuharu, I think I removed its commander but I thoroughly enjoyed that grind for sure. I kinda like never play the low tiers anymore, but these ones are my first picks usually.

    Completing older event collections

Seems like they release an arsenal collection box offer after about a year and a bit. Good thing WG listened to all the people who never managed to complete these and gave this nice addition to the game at virtually no cost to them whatsoever
  19. Well playing smart is in short supply for sure (especially in ops). But I think most people simply don't care about playing smart and log in and click battle just so they can shoot the red stuff and watch all the pretty explosions

    PTS - Rewards and Arsenal

They don't appear to always be included as a mission, but usually you should still get the rewards. Doesn't make this lack of communication to PTS testers any less confusing though.
  21. There's even a skill that tells when long range shots are on the way to you and there's ample time to dodge. It's only about luck if the player getting shot at is not paying attention which by default is his own responsibility anyway and kinda excludes luck as a valid excuse. I mean, you often get more then 10 seconds to dodge the shells, easy enough to do in a small agile ship.

Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

I think on average 1 every 2 days is actually quite lenient
  23. It's not a smart thing to do to go in yolo into a cap and start capping. You need to know where the enemy cruisers are first. And it's the same as a BB player needing to know where the enemy DDs are before starting a push and cruisers needing to know where the enemy BBs are before firing their guns. And of course many BB players will fire their guns from maximum range is there is no other target they can shoot at. Better to do a couple potshots for 1k damage without any consequence then to not do anything at all. Especially at the beginning of a match I see this happen a lot when everyone is still moving into a position.
  24. Yes because if you're in a DD and are getting hit by a BB from 20km range, it's obvious that BB gun ranges need to get nerfed
