Gave it a shot. 12 matches or so. Fun when you play against anything else but a Ruprecht or a Pommern. Unfortunately 10 of those matches were just that. What a snoozefest! I beat one quite easily in Emilio the other day, but how boring just to play that against an endless stream of Pommerns and Ruprechts. Oh well... the idea was fun..... Rant over and possibly done with.....

Emeilio is fun yes... but not all the time... I enjoy the challange of going up against various ships in various ships.. that is fun. But this endless drudge of Pommerns and Ruprechts. I haven't really a ship to go against them with except Emilio. Any other ship than those two is actually fun to play against with a Neptune for example... So I am just a bit unhappy about there being no fun in Brawls this time.. But hey.... not much fun at all in WOWs these days....

Agreed. It the only game of this kind and the second an equally good game comes along its bye bye WG. i play maybe 2-3 games a day, most days now. It used to be 10-20/day. I get fed up and leave. But i keep coming back hoping for that nice game when everything fits. No subs. Maybe a cv, but good gameplay on both sides and an ending hard to predict to the last minute. The fun you used to have, you know?

The fun - if you can call it that - is to try various ships. But you quickly realise that only a select few really works. i had some fun in Neptune. In thight quarters its a killer. Against dds its almost an execution. Against other cruisers it works well. but against pommern and ruprecht…? NO. Just NO. And I discovered that 1 or even 2 out of every 3 brawls are against Pommern. ZzzzzZZzzzz. It became boring. Emilio works best. Ägir is good but not against……. ?……. You gussed it!: POMMERN. in emilio you go cap and wait. As soon as the red player comes into the cap he is too close for his comfort.

I would go with Neustra as well. Z44 does NOT make me shivver in me wellies when I see it on the other team. Black is a major threat, but I think it because it been played - in the past up until now - by some serious dd players. But you can wreak havvoc in Neustra and, as mentioned above by several players, she is very annoying to the whole enemy team.

Well I tried him on Småland and Ragnar and its fun to hear those Swedish commands. I am afraid I spammed short commands in the first match just to hear them. 😂

I am just curious. Are the commands authentic? Are they the actual commands used IRL? Who did the voiceover? Anyone we heard of? I like it, though!😀 Been wanting a swedish captain ever since the dds came out, being Swedish. So I am happy.

Lepanto I cannot say anything about. Other than I dont recall quiverring in my wellies (what else do YOU wear onboard??😳🤔) when seeing one on the enemy team. Schultz on the other hand, I can. Its NOT a dd, but a light cruiser that depends on someone else doing the spotting. Schultz in ranked means you doom your team to 1 less dd than the enemy. Thus lowering your win chance right off the bat. Unless you are very good with it. But unicums can carry their team playing in their grandma’s leeking bathtub with a peashooter. We are talking about 95% of the player base now and then the schultz is just the wrong choice. After loosing 5 maybe 6 ranked games in a row no one is above rageplaying out of sheer frustration. And we are not simply picking on you or putting you down when we say that the only constant in all your games is you. Goes for all of us. But until you recognise the problem you cannot improve. Hacking on blaming your team every time will not improve things. Change you boat to start with and try some new ones.

Now, I havent read all the answers so possibly this answer is coming a lot. The russian dds are fun but need some experience and skill. They are long distance spammers mainly. I would start with the US, IJN or possibly the RN. They will teach you all you need to know about basic dd tactics. Podvoisky is great fun when you know how to use the 360 degree guns, the speed and the hard hitting - but SHORT range - torps. I use it mainly for coop mission play for torp damage or torp hit. It works very well against the bots. Only Nicholas is better in this regard. Feel free to ask for some division play if you see me on the high seas if you want some advice. There are much better players with more experience than me out there, but every little bit helps. Have fun!

I agree. I am as far from a cv fan you can come, but the balance is fair atm. As you say. A good dd player can manage against the cvs and a good cv player can mess everything up for the dd. If changes are being made to the endless supply of planes, forcing the cv to plan snd think, then I might be open to accept canges to detection etc. (Not that my or any other player’s opinion is worth a diddlysquat to WG. 🤷🏻‍♂️)

That’a how I play it now. I pop in. Play a random and a ranked or two. Exit. Stay sane. Repeat a couple of hours later maybe or the next day. will i ever reach gold? Not in a million years! Do I care? Not in a million years! I paddle about in bronze. Maybe I rank out, maybe I wont. I win cammos and a bit of steel. Bronze, maybe silver. 🤷🏻‍♂️😊 No subs. I play cossack, z46 and Ägir mainly. Mostly cossack in these last sprints. 80% wr. 100 with cossack. (I think!🤔) But as I said, will probably not rank out bronze before the next sprint starts. Couldn’t care less! Happier camper! (NOT in a match of course!!😁😬😌😇)

Yeah. its sad, frustrating and annoying as the core game is so enjoyable! To see them destroying something so nice like this bit by bit while time and time again just spitting in the faces of a loyal playerbase to cater for new players jumping into the game and then jumping out as it takes far too long to master for them.

Being a dd main. i survived and adopted to the radars i survived and overcame - by the skin of my teeth! - the cv rework. (But I came close to quitting many times and sadly had a number of rageplays!) I even took the supercarriers on the chin like a champ because the game was STILL more fun than frustrating. But the god damn awful utterly stupid sheits of subs brought me over the edge. When the smart move for A DD!!!!! is to run from the sub due to the fact that you get spotted, homed and torped to oblivion while barely scratching the effing paint of the sub, then the stupidity of the game has reached RED levels of retardness!!! So from around 40 to 100 games per week, I now do maybe 5. I dont care about the dockyard. i dont care about the french cruisers. I am not sure I will get around those subbies..🤷🏻‍♂️ Rant over!😀

More effective AA. Being able to build an effective aa build. Less planes for the cvs. I dont mind higher alpha damage if the aa is effective and the cv player actually had to plan and think about the target due to finite number of planes like before the rework. Then I would not mind cvs. But as they are now they simply ruin the game. I used to play 10-15 games a day. But recently the subs and the super cvs did it for me and I play maybe 1 and often not even that. Sad.

I agree with this. Nice list. I dont actually mind subs as such, but these with homing torps and being almost impossible to sink are not good for the game.

Cvs and subs have mechanics that makes them broken classes in my opinion. Cvs have far too many planes and the subs are unsinkable missile lurkers. As ling as they are being played they will never be balanced vs the other classes and as they ARE being played they WILL NEVER be corrected. So, in short, play them as YOU seem fit and what suits you the best. People will hate you regardless of what you do. Me? I dont hate you. (Unless you are in my match on the other team and play well!!)

Regardless if you will like playing destroyers or not, its a good idea to play them. If nothing else to understand your opponents. I would suggest the KM dd line as I think you will like it. They are a bit underrated IMHO, but the main threshold of any line is T5 and the t22 is an excellent boat at t5. The bosts before it are very nice too! Learn the torpranges of your opponents. I think the max up to t5 is 8? So in the first 3 rd of the match you are in no danger from torps really.

I tend to have 3-5 ships/lines I am grinding and about the same number of favourites I like playing. Lightning, Yorck, Eu dds from 7-10 etc. In between these are ships to get missions etc. So around 10-15 different ships on regular basis.
