Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
TeaAndTorps replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Saw @MacArthur92 in the 9dJ on IIRC Warrior's Path. He joked that with the ship's range meant we were going to have to carry him, but he ended up carrying our right flank. Iwas in my Cleveland on the other flank, screwed up badly in the early game and spent the rest of the battle on <3k health, but somehow survived and got a full cap and a cap assist. Very weird game – enemy were 2 caps to 0 up for a lot of it and then just rolled over and died. I've had a series of weird games like that today on top of not playing my best... Anyway, thanks for carrying the team, +1 and it was a pleasure -
Which is utterly bizarre, when you think about it. Ofc HE spam can be a problem, but I tend to play more aggressively as a BB if i know there are no red DDs about, whether or not there's a green one spotting for me... Better distribution might be nice though, but variety is good too I guess. Just a shame there's so little variety in the number of BBs

It's a reward you get halfway through building Odin though. Tbh I think *this* dockyard event is pretty transparent and well designed. Certainly players with no understanding of how to play successfully being able to buy their way into high tiers is sub-optimal, to say the least. That's a different problem, however, and I'm afraid I don't see the 'scam' in either of them?

Hunger Thirst Insufficient caffeine Overconfidence Underconfidence Not taking breaks It's only really the underconfidence and overconfidence that aren't very straightforward to avoid.

This would actually be great. E.g. sometimes if I need to make a new 10-point commander for a DD or CL, that's much more comfortably done at T4 (I don't have mountains of elite commander XP), but missing out on any missions is meh. Getting more population at lower tiers would be great for more variety.

Well I need to read better was probably on a bit of a WOWS break when that happened!

Excellent Thanks!

So, erm, those DefAA buffs for USN DDs that are currently in ST...? Or do the B hulls now get to equip DefAA without giving up a main battery gun?

I think one is allowed to enjoy something and yet still have opinions on how it could be better or how one would like to see it change in the future. Ofc WG will do what they think is right in terms of their priorities, but choosing to play the game doesn't make it illegitimate for someone to hold a contrary opinion. I don't really have any skin in this particular debate but telling players it's wrong to express preferences as to how the game should develop just totally misses the point – when someone enjoys and understands something like most forumites enjoy and understand WOWS, that makes them exactly the kind of person who *should* have and express such opinions.

The maddening thing is they state it's necessary at low tiers because 'most of the action in our game takes place at high tiers', as if that isn't a situation they've quite deliberately engineered since... Oh idk, at least since all the supercruisers started appearing, or probably before that when there were multiple consecutive seasons of T10 ranked.

As others have said, your problems probably have a lot to do with a small sample size. But the quoted text is probably also a contributing factor – I know the turrets are slow but you should be able to play around that, whereas Aiming Systems Mod I is basically necessary on BBs, especially those like QE with a low number of main guns.

@Harvin87 If you're enjoying gun-focused USN DDs, Kidd might be a good shout. Heal and DefAA are useful. Generally I think it's a good plan to think about captain compatibility – choose a premium you already have a good captain for and/or can use to level up commanders for a tech-tree line you enjoy.

Suggestion to transform Dunkerque into a Champagne/Florida/Slava type ship

Ah, yes. I, erm, forgot Took a break around that time and haven't really internalised that change yet, oops! -

TeaAndTorps replied to BlackYeti's topic in General Discussion
[Removed an inaccuracy] TbhI love my Dunkerque the way it is and the dispersion doesn't give me worse headaches than any other BB. Personally—and I stress personally—I don't see any reasons for changes to the ship. It might be less unique than it once was, but it's still interesting and one hell of a lot of fun. -

TeaAndTorps replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Not necessarily the most amazing numbers ever, but making Pepsi work after the disastrous first two or three battles I had in it feels like an achievement. I can see why everyone raves about the super-heavy AP. -
I like it, no chance of these distracting me from the lines I'm currently researching

Which Class Of U.S. Cruiser Line Is Overall The More Effective And Fun To Play?
TeaAndTorps replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Dallas, Helena and Cleveland are some of my favourite ships. I've still not properly started on the CAs though, so... I remember a lot of people complaining about Seattle's range when first released. Is that still the primary problem or are there more? (Have been away for a while, not entirely up together with these things...) -

Decree no subs in randoms – work up a separate and distinct game mode instead, where they fit properly and don't take over DDs' role. Commission a strategy to look at how the game remains financially viable over the longer term as it becomes less feasible to just keep pumping out new premium ships. Basically think how to monetise content that isn't ships. Reduce pace of new premium and tech tree releases to ease this transition. Probably shift away from such heavy focus on high tiers as part of this, too. Okay, hardly the work of a day, but based on my necessarily limited perspective these strike me as the most pressing things over the medium term. Edit: Also, rethink SAP (use the RN CL model instead, absolutely don't put it on BBs); generally stop relying on gimmicks for balance and 'flavour' and come up with well-rounded lines instead. -
Idea: Allow tier IV CVs in tier VI games
TeaAndTorps replied to KubiG37's topic in General Discussion
Division problem would presumably be solved by putting everyone from T4 into T6 battles' – I don't think it's feasible to limit it to one class. Now, I like the idea of being able to complete missions in my Shenyang, but I prefer the idea of still being able to train new captains up to 10 points in protected MM. -
Loot boxes to be classed as gambling in the UK...
TeaAndTorps replied to Captain_Singleton's topic in Off-Topic
If only the subject header were accurate. Better way of putting it would be 'committee with no formal means of enforcing its suggestions recommends lootboxes be classed as gambling in the UK'. I hope they will be treated as such, and soon, but somehow I expect our glorious leaders will act with about the same urgency as a stoned, sleep-deprived snail carrying some heavy shopping. -

TeaAndTorps replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Ah, I like this idea. Thanks I may have to start making a new Sims commander, and give some thought to whether he'll work on other USN DDs... -
You just need one shipbuilding token, however you earn it. Then go and 'claim rewards' or whatever the formulation is to activate them in the dockyard.

Do you run the zoomy short-range Toros or the longer-range sea mines? Always interested to hear how others go about making it work better than I manage -
Some STs Ruining the Games for Others

Fair enough, perhaps I misunderstood the OP or didn't read carefully enough. The written word is a blunt instrument etc. Thanks for the clarification, and I can totally understand being cautious after that experience.- 77 replies
