    Sorry, but assuming you're going BFT/AFT, I really do not see the value in spending 4 points on IFHE to tweak secondaries a bit when Manual secondaries for the same 4 points is a significant buff to secondary damage. For secondary "trolling" Manual secondaries really does make them decidedly nasty to face. That's assuming you can spare the 4 points that arguably might be well spent on Fire prevention.

    To be fair they don't need to spend money, the modders have produced all sorts of enhancements which could be adopted as options in the main client. @walter3kurtz points are very sensible as a start.

    Clan battles are messed up

    It's a sad reality that there has to be a Prime Time window of some sort, as others have pointed out it would be manipulated if 24/7, that or it would be horribly dull always meeting the same teams as there simply aren't enough teams to support a full time window. It would be nice if the windows were wider to accommodate people whose RL schedules aren't compatible, but I do understand why they've had to limit the times.

    First is an example of what is known as a Fail Division. In the first picture the T7 Mahan and Nelson are divisioned with a T8 Richelieu - The matchmaker works off the HIGHEST TIER ship in a division which is T8 and the T8 is bottom tier in the match, dragging the 2 T7's along. Second picture normal MM, nothing unusual about it. Perfectly normal matchmaking and an example of people not understanding how the Matchmaker treats divisions. Apart from the Fail Division the MM's look perfectly average.

    Why does the New York have such crazy range?

    I had a similar game, the last time I played it, 2 CV's a side so I got a load of plane kills, but by the time that tugboat could get in range of enemies they were already dead. The comedy low speed and lousy range combo makes the lower tier US BB's rather irritating to play.

    Same here, on the occasions it happens I wait at most a minute then force close the game (do NOT leave the battle, just close the client using Task Manager) and restart. If you simply can't get into any battle at all then it's a different matter. Any mods installed? Tried starting the game in "Safe" mode? Tried a client verification/repair? Worst case tried reinstalling the game?

    Last stand

    I had a dose of that too, it cost us at least 1 match. Since @nambr9 mentioned it and I paid close attention I'm certain that Last Stand isn't behaving correctly. Of course since this is a negative to DD's and not BB's I won't hold my breath on a rapid fix or even one appearing at all.

    Hang on, you're the one who started a thread with the headline of being from elite Beta Testing so by implication an experienced old hand, doesn't this make you a hypocrite? You're the one, who with very few games, is crying that fire damage is overly strong when applied to your BB, yet you're now resorting to personal attacks when you're forced to understand that fire damage is not only a valid and reasonably balanced mechanic, it's crucial to the 2 other surface ship types for them to harm BB's. I would suggest that you get a few thousand more games under your belt, ideally in a variety of ship types and think before you start screaming that some game mechanics are OP or broken.

    The issue of gradual stutter coming on and increasing until it's a slideshow appears gone. I however voted No as a new issue of periodic (2-3 times a game) complete stops in screen updates is happening, the ship appears to stop, unable to fire, other ships stop, then it catches up as if I'd sailed on, fired and target ships have moved a few seconds on. It's troublesome, but not quite as bad as the slideshow stutters, however it's totally unpredictable.

    Well on fire is on fire, without fire damage cruisers and destroyers would be unable to do much to most BB's with their small guns except at suicide ranges. The game doesn't differentiate between a fire set by types of ship, which is pretty sensible.

    I have it on as part of a minimap mod that make the map a bit more useful, I can't say I find it vastly useful so allowed or not, not really that fussed either way.

    Exactly what I do. Before I had Elite Captain exp I used to just retrain in Premium ships so no penalty to the trained skills. I haven't noticed Last Stand outright not working, but I'll keep an eye out and if I see it behaving oddly I'll report it as @MrConway asked.

    RPF in cruisers

    Much the same reasoning here. I have RDF on a few of my T10 Captains for Clan Wars, but I like having it for Randoms too so may stick with it. Most of my DD Captains have it for obvious reasons.

    So to reiterate you would LIKE to address the bug that causes DD's to get punished excessively by BB AP this having been a live issue for well over 12 months, but when a few BB's can eat the occasional Citadel your guys can fix it in a few days. I suspect if you put your mind to it you can see just what light that paints the developers priorities in. As you've seen from the reaction your "joke" fell flatter than a flat thing that's been professionally flattened. The language of "Feature" is commonly taken to mean it's deliberate and intended. Having some fun does get a bit tricky in a DD when a BB you can't even see hits for 50+% (or flat out dev strikes) of one's HP with a single shell.

    Sorry, you can't look at it that way, just because each shell has a 25% fire chance, landing 8 shells will not guarantee or even average 2 fires, that's also a discussion that's been done to death and I really haven't the time at the moment to find the threads or type out the mathematics. I happen to agree BB fire chance is far too high on all BB lines, but that's not something I think there's any chance will change.

    Well the Conqueror (and all of the silver line of RN BB's apart from the Monarch) has an exceptionally high fire chance and very high base damage, but that's been discussed to death in many threads. It's the RN silver tech tree "gimmick" which of course doesn't apply to Warspite and Hood which have very ordinary even crappy HE. However the discussion in this thread is about people spamming HE from other nations BB's and never using their vastly superior AP, this is a pretty daft way for BB players to behave.

    French BB fire chance is about average from what I can see, it's only the RN BB's with particularly high %ages with the exception of the Monarch. Tier 8 :- North Carolina (& Alabama) - 36% Bismarck (& Tirpitz) - 34% Amagi (& Kii) - 30% Monarch - 35% Richelieu - 36% I've not got the time to wade through a few more tiers at the moment, but FR BB's fire chance seems nothing special and I can only put it down to RN BB syndrome when I see FR BB'd spamming HE at broadside targets.

    If that's supposed to be comedy it's an abject failure, frankly it's just reinforcing peoples views that WG as a company doesn't give a damn for many of its customers. As pointed out the BB AP doing excessive damage to DD's has been a live issue for ages that's not addressed, yet a tiny issue that means a BB can eat extra damage is fixed in a matter of days. Take a think about how that comes across and what light it paints your company in, basically it states BB's count and screw the rest.

    The thing is he's entirely right. In the case you cited you were hit by high fire chance HE (46% base compared to at most 17% base on cruisers at T7) from a Battleship, one with superb guns come to that, Nelson is also fragile. The issue you had there wasn't with HE, but BB HE. You're moaning about HE spam in a classic BBaby manner, when you've not considered that ignoring BB HE spammers HE is about the only way a cruiser can seriously damage a BB except at close range with a broadside shown. The whole Beta tester thing carries little weight with me unless the player has many thousand matches as the game has changed a lot over the years it's been live, as the old hands will testify.

    Not really, pay attention in any match and you will find BB players in IJN, KM, USN, Italian, French and the old Premium RN ships firing HE the whole game, they're either caught up the RN BB syndrome (RN BB AP works just fine) or they're plain too lazy to realise that against any thing other than straight bows on AP works well if you can aim. I've even seen Yamato players using HE only which is laughable. The thing with HE spam is that they get the satisfaction of high damage numbers without thinking about the fact that they could have outright killed enemies with AP. I'm afraid it's just people being a bit mentally challenged. Versus a non RN HE spammer I can afford to show them a broadside (even in cruisers) and blow them to bits with AP. I'm convinced that it's entirely down to what @_DeathWing_ termed Royal Navy BB syndrome.
