    Fair enough, not worth an AA build then, it's T8 so it will be against higher tier CV's mostly.

    I've just started, I had Akizuki nearly researched, but I'd given up and gone down the Shimakaze route, just bought the Akizuki and had a fair bit of fun in it. It's slow and sluggish, but the guns really sing, enemy CV came nowhere near me so I didn't get to try the AA.

    Plus the Akizuki can basically be overtaken by an exhausted snail, I do hope they give these 2 a better turn of speed than her 2 predecessors.

    7v7 I'm not convinced Shima would be a super choice, it's not that effective in Clan Battles compared to the others, even with a stealth buff. Radars and hydro's will be abundant, especially with CV's around Shima stealth is largely negated and her torpedo reload is still weak as are her guns.

    Indeed, I do my best to avoid CV games unless I have a good AA ship queued. CV's tend to lead to a miserable faceroll in either direction and Ranked especially so. A well played T10 CV will be hugely dominant as it can overwhelm the map with sheer quantity of planes.

    Assist Ribbon

    With the game as it stands I think the only "Assist" ribbon that would be viable is damage related, do a significant proportion of the damage to a ship that someone else gets the kill shot on and currently you get nothing ribbon wise other than the usual hits. The other things you've suggested are part of other suggestions like achievements and emblems, while they would be very welcomed I don't think there's much of "assist" value in there that the game would score (sadly).

    I think any even semi experienced DD player will relate to that, in fact on the rare occasions I do get effective support in my DD's I almost fall out of my chair.

    It has exactly the SAME concealment as the Kagero and the Harekaze and 0.1km better than Yugumo, but it won't be able to sensibly take those on. As to getting pummeled by supporting ships I take it that you don't play that much in DD's at the higher tiers, support at caps especially is a wet dream not a reality. The IJN DD's are extremely fragile, that's why they have good concealment. As a cap contester the Asashio will outright suck so it will be one of those DD's that really, really annoy their teams by failing to take objectives and sailing round trying to pot BB's. A lot of games will be thrown by that. I've played four games with test Asashio's on both sides and in each case they were badly ineffective. The only threat it will pose to cruisers is one of spotting and any DD can do that, it certainly won't be gunning one down unless it's essentially dead already and it can't torpedo so charging one down in a cruiser will be relatively simple. In my opinion it's not OP, at least from what I''ve seen.

    Rising in rank requires wins, wins require good teamwork and well played ships that aren't stock with decent captain skills. It's usually pretty easy to spot the inexperienced, downright selfish or plain awful players. One of the issues with T8 ranked is there are a lot of Premium ships that can be bought by people really not capable of playing at the level and it's a source of annoyance to people actually trying to progress as a loss means they are likely to lose a star, the toxicity of the chat in Ranked can be quite high.

    That's a perfectly sensible approach to take although some of the lines change more than a little as you go up the lines and T6 is the break point for Cruiser lines where they go from light to heavy cruisers (RN excepted). With only 805 battles Ranked is probably not the ideal mode to play yet anyway as there are enough problem teams with inexperienced players making the matches miserable facerolls. As to the T8 then T10 format, it could be interesting, as people have pointed out T10 is by far the best balanced. Maybe I'll take the plunge and go past Rank 12 as after about 35 games last season I couldn't face playing more.

    Zero risk? Are you kidding? I have multiple Radar ships, to get in effective use range it means getting rather close to caps which makes the cruiser using radar a prime (and generally very easy) target if the cap has any kind of support for the enemy DD. Far from zero risk. Apart from Cruisers there is 1 BB the Missouri (no longer available to acquire) and the T8/9/10 Pan Asian DD's. PA DD's and the T8/9/10 British cruisers all have to give up their Smoke Generators in order to use radar. Again this is increasing their risk in play unless divisioned.

    I think they're in the External tab in the game client, the one where you equip camouflages and they're in the perma camo's available for the ship. 8,000 Doubloons, just checked they're shown next to the more conventional perma camo's on each ship.
  16. No reason those emblems couldn't be for all classes, capping, defending, tanking, cap blocking, spotting, they could all work. I'm of the opinion that your suggestion has great merit, they promote active gameplay rather than damage farming and wouldn't do the game any harm and a lot of good. @MrConway, have you guys thought about this sort of thing?
  17. Correct, for that particular mission survival is required, it's the first line in the mission text in fact.
  18. Very sensible suggestion that I agree should be implemented, however as mentioned above, not at all likely to happen, WG appear wedded to Damage being the most important metric in the game.
  19. Situational Awareness removal - No not a great idea as has been discussed. The benefit of Concealment Expert - I agree either make it a flat 10% irrespective of class or reverse it entirely so that CV's receive the least (not that it matters vastly to them anyway, they're pretty much always at the back) and DD's the most. Gun Bloom really needs to be changed as well - It's pretty bonkers that a DD with tiny guns suffers the same penalty as BB's with huge ones, gun bloom should be tied to gun size, bigger guns, longer bloom, as it is WG said they don't want ships "blinking" and that's exactly what does happen with BB's who all have greater than 20s reload so they're encouraged to stay back out of their concealment distance from the nearest enemy.

    If it is then it's not obvious, the torpedo arc things look pretty much the same on every torpedo armed ship I have. I guess someone with the tools and the inclination could do some measuring, but that's not me.

    It's been discussed dozens of times, with only a small (but vocal in posting terms) minority actually for it, most posts in the threads are anti for a variety of reasons. Either way WG have said no so forget it.
