Do you guys experience WoWs crash with latest v0.7.3 (i.e. after last patch and "fix") if you play lots of games in a row?
BeauNidl3 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I had a lot of problems before the last patch (not the recent tiny one), but since 0.7.3 it's seemed pretty stable to me even with long playing sessions. Sorry, I know that's not much help, but at least for now it seems to be behaving for me. -
Depends what you want out of a cruiser, certainly Baltimore is fairly tough, but it handles like an overloaded barge and its guns are underwhelming. OK if you've got a good campsite and targets obligingly in range and spotted. Thing is personal taste is a big factor in this type of discussion, there's no absolute right or wrong.

@tamagotchi my take on this:- Baltimore to Des Moines is a really nice upgrade, the US cruisers after (current) Cleveland are rather uninspiring until Des Moines. Minotaur is a nice upgrade from Neptune, not as dramatic as the US lines, but noticeable. Donskoi to Moskva I found a bit disappointing as Moskva is actually rather boring (it's good, but dull) and lacks torpedoes. Roon to Hindenberg isn't a massive jump as Roon plays really well, but Hindenberg is a real gem when you get to grips with how to play it effectively. No comment on the IJN line, I gave up after finishing Myoko grind and I just don't enjoy them, guess they just don't suit me.

Admiral William H. ST & Yamamoto buff

Video is in German, not that much use to those of us in the English language section that don't speak German other than the text overlay which is interesting.- 22 replies

Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

Well put, although I'd pay real money to be in my Kamikaze or Okhotnik on red team with that lot to torp into the next world, it's a glorious target as a DD. -

Familiar scenario to me and I've reached the same conclusion, I just go "bollocks to this for a lark" and bug out if I can make it alive. I've had so many games where the word support seems to be missing from the teams' vocabulary. That said today I had a couple today where support was not only there, but brutally effective allowing me to cap and spot freely, I'm sure I'll pay for those with an abundance of the usual campers, island hiders and damage farmers ignoring the game winning strategies. -
I agree re the specialist AA build being daft to be without in a CV game (only about 25% of my T10 games have CV, possibly 10%, I've no statistics to hand) I also agree that cruisers shouldn't have to bet on CV or no when they're supposed to be generalist AA and DD tools so Def AA and Hydro should be in an extra slot to carry both, that or do away with Def AA completely. Yes I've chewed up a few planes in my Grozovoi and Gearing and I do carry Def AA on both, I'm not sure I've ever obliterated a whole strike though, blunted it certainly. The thing with having loads of planes around, even if they're fighting for air supremacy is they still passively spot the ships and torpedoes. While I really do understand the desire of CV players to use them in Clan Wars I still see them badly spoiling the format and I'm still very concerned about the 2 BB situation which is likely to make it far more of a campfest.
-
Every cruiser would have to AA build heavily, this makes them debatable in Randoms. Additionally a CV will make DD's lives pretty much impossible. Radars have a range and duration both of which can be managed, but evading the sheer quantity of planes from a T10 CV and the planes spotting every torpedo fired makes for a miserable game, except for the CV of course... Sorry, CV's are simply too influential for Clan Wars format.
-
I don't find it appealing. Part of the charm of Clan Wars is the single BB and relatively low odds of deletion while being able to manoeuvre and fight actively in cruisers. Make 25% of the team BB's and a lot of that goes away, I consider it to be a bad change even though there are many BB players who feel a bit cut off due to the current 1 BB limit. As to CV's, the maps and teams are relatively small and T10 CV's have so many planes it would end up as the best CV wins far too many times.

I remember it because you make such a fuss about the game being bad, your not playing at all and you being so incredibly boring on the forum, your hypocrisy and tedium stands out so that you're memorable; for all the wrong reasons. As to the game lacking "atmosphere" just arrange for someone you know (possible that there's one person who you haven't bored to death) to throw buckets of brine at you occasionally while periodically letting off shrapnel grenades near you and setting you on fire, that would add what you seek.

He's been claiming (and whining interminably) that he gave up playing the game ages ago, slight hole in that is I had him on the same team a few weeks back while he was being utterly useless in Yamato. He moaned for 5 minutes until he was killed then moaned in spectator mode until the game was lost.

Will gloss over the fact we came first and second with a combined damage we would both be ashamed of in a loss..... -
Ashitaka. Can you buy the Kobayashi camo with doubloons?

Obvious question is why would you buy that appallingly bad ship? -

@_VAMPA_ while we were both in Kamikaze, win, but no thanks to the team we secured 1st and 2nd spots. @McCraken in his Z52 while I was in Chung Mu he and his division carried that game, I spent 1/2 of it running from Hydro and Radars when there was no support from people that spawned the side I was at. @Estaca_de_Bares in his Shokaku, he totally owned the airspace and controlled the battle, sadly I was on the wrong side of that. -
I quite liked the Gneis, but you have to play to its strengths and cope with its weakness which is accuracy at range.
-
An additional variable to the calculation that really you can't factor in is the team makeup, sometimes you get lumbered with some utter spuds/afk/crashed/campers and other times you get carried by some super monster who's sacrificed a few virgins to the RNG gods and can't miss.

The doublestrike was pure luck, Konig ate 4 torpedoes and completed flooding out about 2s after Fuso ate all 6 torpedoes launched at him. As to the BB's refusing to engage, well we all know that story and see it every day we play, repeatedly. I was a bit annoyed I got jammed on a wreck while running away which is why I died or I would have caused a bit more havok -
Torpedoes are very large objects and certainly not practical to carry, let alone manhandle reloads into tubes in active battle. As has been said repeatedly in this thread, with few exceptions destroyers didn't carry torpedoes outside their loaded tubes. The "realism" argument is utter nonsense as has been proven many times. If it was quite apart from the damage and damage control models for all ships being way off:- All ships would be able to deploy smoke All torpedoes could (and would) be single fired and essentially invisible Closing to fleet distances wouldn't happen and ships would actively disengage from battle if at serious risk Radars and Hydros would be on constantly Aircraft would be up for the whole game Accuracy would be massively reduced Rudders and engines knocked out would require a tow A single "citadel" would permanently disable the ship or at least reduce its ability to fight to near zero A fire would obscure the gun directors (even if it didn't knock out the electrical systems) HE shells would kill large numbers of crew, especially those spotting, commanding and gun aiming The list is practically endless.

@MortenTardo and @Aotearas in their Atlanta and Leningrad combo while I was hooning about in my Kamikaze. bit of a ROFLStomp loss to them even though I got a doublestrike and 95k damage, such are weekend teams. GG as expected, I even warned the team you guys were better than average and would tear them a new one if they gave you the chance. -
Emphatic no. This is a game not a simulator. It's another request for a buff to BB's which are already hugely strong, if the OP can't cope with DD torpedoes then he/she/it needs to learn how to play.
-
Need map pictures to cast an opinion sorry. @Hades_warrior that map was in the previous Clan Battles season and I thought it played quite well, some people didn't agree.
-
Same, seems like a perfectly sensible request to go along with the other CV UI fixes that my CV playing friends have long requested.
-
Took me a minute to understand what the poll options referred to, positions in your diagram. Option 2 stands out to me as the most sensible and visible position.
-
A "simple click on the minimap" can be for any number of reasons from an enemy DD location, someone in a weird position and someone being a complete arse spam clicking. There are a few chat enhancements that would be useful.

Does short fuse AP mechanic of RN BBs exist in WoWs?
BeauNidl3 replied to GeneralSavage's topic in General Discussion
QE and KGV AP worked fine for me, you will also upset some people who assume since a lot are just HE spammers so can safely sail broadside to you and your AP will be a nasty shock. QE's guns however are not overly reliable, I disliked the ship unlike the Warspite which is grand.- 16 replies
