modifying ship slots (inventory i guess?)
BeauNidl3 replied to EboyLarano's topic in General Discussion
I've never had a port slot from a container, almost infinite Captain slots though. The guy is new to the game, grow up. -
modifying ship slots (inventory i guess?)
BeauNidl3 replied to EboyLarano's topic in General Discussion
Ship port slots are only available via doubloons, it's part of their free to play model. They need money to pay for all the things any games company requires. One alternative is to sell another ship that you own, that will free up a port slot. -
0.7.4 King of the Air +AA Defence Expert Achivements
BeauNidl3 replied to SeaWolf7's topic in General Discussion
Clearly it's possible, just takes a very "special" CV captain to feed planes into an effective AA aura. -
0.7.4 King of the Air +AA Defence Expert Achivements
BeauNidl3 replied to SeaWolf7's topic in General Discussion
Sure, easily if there are 2 T5/6 CV's, both are mentally challenged, are determined to feed a steady stream of planes into him and Atlanta is camped out of enemy fire, doddle... -
There aren't any on at the moment if you've finished the last lot. I'm in the same boat, no missions to do for a few days. To be fair while I'd like more missions they do keep them coming at an OK rate usually.

Where should I aim when Im facing Conquerer?
BeauNidl3 replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
Guessing he was wiggling his Conq in time to your shots, an experienced (and good) BB player will have the timings in his head and habits, odds are he was angling enough in his wiggles to bounce and got away with it. Conq has good enough firing angles with the turrets to keep all 4 on a target as big as a Yamato. -
I really don't trust the visuals of where a hit lands, I managed to citadel a retreating Minotaur yesterday with a shell that definitely hit the water left side of his stern, he wasn't turning into it either, I was at under 10km in Hindy so could clearly see the splash. Only 3 shells in the air as I had a front turret out at the time and the other 2 were misses.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BeauNidl3 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yup, it all went pete tong, badly, got double downvoted that game too, classic case of 1 more support and Trashcan was toast and me alive. Next game was a 125k double cap win, think I upset an enemy division by torpedoing their push, 2 downvotes and 1 up... Weird day. -

@tsounts, @Freyr_90 in their double Mino combo while I was in Chung Mu, for some bizarre reason all but a Zao and a Missouri followed them into A leaving us screwed at B. Messy loss, but they did their best. -
True, I dread to think how many hours/days/weeks (OK, this could get depressing) I've spent in Red Alerts, Command and Conquers, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commanders, Warcrafts etc I've spent, it's erm.... lots.

Indeed, there was nothing wrong with the old interface and the current one is just poor by comparison, it's always in the way of my ship carousel. Even if I drag it elsewhere it pops back when it feels like it after a game.

I qualify as an old fart so I'm referring to the older titles which from your other posts I'm sure you've played to death as well, I still find them fun. RTS games don't seem to appeal to game publishers these days as they have to have a decent campaign with lots of content and they don't really accommodate the DLC, make them pay repeatedly to get a decent game style of marketing.

Erm, no, before today's buff to Shima detection it was at 6.0km. Grozevoi 6km detection - same as Shima Gearing and Yueyang 5.9km (they're basically about the same)- tiny bit better than Shima Z52 6.1km - worse than Shima Khaba - well it's way worse, but it's not played even slightly the same as Shima, it's not a cap contesting ship in most cases so irrelevant. Shima will be better and more in line with its predecessors which are the sneaky torpedo boats with the buff. It's always been a decent ship IF you play to its strengths, use the right torpedoes (the 20km ones are total junk) and engage a braincell. Admittedly after all the cries of bullying from a certain poster I do wonder if the braincell is the issue...

I don't play CV's for a very simple reason, well 2 of them now I think of it. 1. If I wanted to play an RTS there are hundreds of superb ones around. 2. I don't have any CV's in my port (although getting some would be trivial).

What is the point of the karma number?
BeauNidl3 replied to RubyCookies's topic in General Discussion
True, rare and surprising when it happens, but I've had a few for teamwork smoking. People are far more likely to use up their reports than their complements, even though most reports equate to nothing. I agree that if Karma had any rewards then people would be more deliberately spiteful with reports, human nature at play. -
Painfully familiar story when I DD at all tiers, although now and then it's the opposite. I managed to top score in Hindy today after a friendly DD smoked me to save me in a cap when a previously unspotted Minotaur hoved into view at 8km with my broadside facing his guns, this was a few minutes in and I'd have been toast without his cover and went on to help carry the game.

Can I officially despair of the fact a native English speaker has no idea the word there has no similarity to the word their, other than they just sound alike? They're not interchangeable. Try this - There, they're there getting their win. Now in lazy gibberish There, there there getting there win. Which one is easier to understand or even makes sense? It's basic literacy and good manners especially when there are non native speakers likely to read. As to the scenario you painted, you can't avoid people being tactically stupid or lazy, both are facts of life.

CV's current state and population - an analysis
BeauNidl3 replied to IBloomJustForYou's topic in General Discussion
Actually I had a game 2 days ago with 2x T7 CV's a side, never seen it before, but having checked, it's normal, just very uncommon (thankfully). I do find a lot of CV games very unsatisfying with being perma spotted and torps being effectively useless (change for that happening soon it seems) or with 1 side dominating the other by plane which makes for no fun fight except to the dominant CV driver. -

^^ That. -
You can block posters on this (and most) forum if you're too fragile to read what they say to you. The Facebook generation really has earned the term snowflake and lives up to it. Reading the thread you've been offered very good advice, if you decide not to act on it then I hope you're on the enemy team and not mine.
-
No his points were not only valid, but on topic and polite. He's absolutely correct the 20km torps are utterly useless even when accelerated, they're so easy to spot and avoid, he's offering you experienced advice and as another DD player I recognise his advice as completely sound. All your responses in this thread are defensive accusing others of attacking you, the fact is you need to read the considered advice and change your play, you will then improve. Until the point that you realise it's your approach to playing that's the core issue you will continue to struggle if not outright fail and be a drag on your teams. Radar is a fact of life for high tier DD players, you either learn how to cope or stop playing DD.
-
You must be extra special, that's not my experience. Sure it happens, but not noticeably more than at any other tier.

Which Tier 10 nation ship classes are YOUR picks?
BeauNidl3 replied to Appadang's topic in General Discussion
Same here, @Appadang if you could add an option for Not Applicable/ No Opinion for each section it would make the poll more viable. I can't vote on CV as I'm not qualified to have an opinion on which is "best". I play BB too infrequently to really chose, only got 2 at T10 and I barely play them where as I have multiple DD and Cruiser lines at 10 that I play a lot. -
More and more frustrating....
BeauNidl3 replied to anonym_u6sYtyvyHdEJ's topic in General Discussion
Why would they do that? What purpose would it serve? Why go to the hassle of coding something that delves into stats when the MM frequently takes only a couple of seconds to form a match? I can't see any motivation for the MM to be rigged, even though I've played stellar games and lost and crappily and won. -
A generic torpedo warning can serve 2 purposes, both to warn of friendly and enemy torpedoes spotted. I don't see it as any licence to torpedo stupidly. I launch a lot of torpedoes and I admit I sometimes screw it up by accident. I managed to hit a division mate this week with torps that were literally about to run out, he was 5km from the end point when I fired them and he ate the last 2 that didn't actually hit and destroy the intended target. Was it my fault? Yup, no debate, it's ALWAYS the fault of the firer, no exceptions.
