When the smoke changes happened they offered the chance to refund the Kutuzov and Belfast and I'm pretty certain they announced they were removing both from sale permanently. Don't expect either to be sold in the foreseeable future. I'm confounded by their marketing strategy with the shop and tech tree, simple fact is that a customer doesn't always have available funds on demand and effectively turning away business that they may well not get back means that money is lost to them. People work away, some have partners that will spend the money on something else if it's not used, presents for birthdays, anniversaries etc, these and many other factors mean that a buyer may only be able to buy in a specific window.

Farmed damage doesn't typically win games except where the enemy derps and dies in a faceroll, dominating the objectives does. I'm never that impressed by claims of high damage. The vast majority of the Asashio players I see just farm damage if they ever manage to land a single torpedo of course. To respond to your edit, I'm about as far from a BB main as it's possible to get (plus I didn't start the topic), I've ground a few lines to 9/10 for variety, but I mostly play DD and Cruisers. Your assumption is so completely wrong it's hillarious, I have yet to be torpedoed even once by an Asashio, I've sunk a fair few though. There's no "stealth suggestion", I thought the Asashio was a lousy idea as soon as its details were released, I still hold that opinion and I don't think it should ever have been sold in the first place. Incidentally I love my Kamikaze

Why players not are climbing the ranks in Ranked as expected
BeauNidl3 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Mostly plain lousy teamplay and selfish goons playing to save a star rather than trying to actively win. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BeauNidl3 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
@MortenTardo in his Moskva while I was in the other team in my Akizuki, he got a Kraken turning around more or less single handedly what should have been an easy win for my side until the team derped something awful. -
That post sums up why the Asashio should never have gone on sale. It's very clear you should never, ever play DD's as you have no idea what a team needs DD's to do. The selfish Asashio player is the type that has already tarred the ship with the brush of being generally useless except on the rare occasions that a good DD player is at the helm.

Indeed, I breathed a sigh of relief hitting 10 to be free of the exceptionally badly played Asashio plague, I'm fairly convinced that some of the drivers of that Premium have:- 1. Never played DD's before especially the IJN ones 2. No idea how to use torpedoes 3. No idea what the core tasks of a destroyer are namely spotting and capping with opportunistic torpedo use. 4. Had poor captains

I'd forgotten that LWM review, it's pretty close to how I feel about the ship. I'm far from a BB main, but I enjoy playing it and I've had some very decent games in Nelsol. It's especially fun when you get the braindead German, Japanese, French and US HE spamming BB captains and citadelling them with AP when they won't ever load the stuff.

What is you latest "jinxed" new grinding ship and what do you do about it?
BeauNidl3 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
That's a shame, the Kagero is a solid performer (if not plagued by lousy luck) and I really liked it, played with smoke or booster depending on my mood. My most despised ship was the Minsk, I completely sucked at it and I eventually caved and free XP'd to Ognevoi. I play torpedo and hybrid DD's far better than gunship ones, although I do pretty OK in Akizuki which is a bit odd. Monarch was miserable, but I'm not a good BB player if I'm honest, I do OK, but not well in my terms. Kawachi I loathed, couldn't hit a damn thing with it, Myogi felt great by comparison! -

@Aragathor in his Akizuki while I was in Gearing, in the delight that is Tears Epicentre. Side not helped all that much by me being torpedoed from second line by our "friendly" Minotaur. Didn't look good, but game saved by our Yugumo despite the Missouri who came 3rd bottom trying hard to lose it. -
There is no NEED for more depth and complexity. There is no point in healing and support classes, if nothing else people wouldn't be likely to want to play them. You're off in a pointless dream world as usual. If you don't like the game and you say you don't play even though it's clear that you do and you even buy expensive Premiums in a game you dislike, then there are other games that have the complexity you appear to crave in WoWs. There is an oddball DD the Monaghan coming, the oddball (and in most people's hands useless) Asashio and they ditched the Kitakami, plus CV's that really don't fit well in the current game due to being too strong, too weak against some AA and too hard for more than a handful to play well. For a long time I've believed that CV's should have their own game mode so balancing with the rest of the ships would no lonfer be an issue that they've failed completely to solve.

The maximum damage a Yugumo torpedo does is 23767, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they can score a citadel hit beyond doing their maximum damage which is usually mitigated by torpedo belt reduction. I've certainly never noticed a wildly high damage number on any of my torpedo hits that weren't detonations and I play DD quite a lot.

I dont understand the auto-resupply tickbox for signals
BeauNidl3 replied to Eldarad's topic in General Discussion
LOGICally reading the text it could mean either currency silver or Doubloons. While Doubloons are in the game, they are not earned in the game in a conventional manner, they're bought outside the game with the exception of a few rewards. You're not surprised because of the way you behave on the forum, you're typically abrasive for no other reason than to be unpleasant, talk down to people because you've a belief you're superior and occasionally outright rude. -
It's a handy skill, but as a new DD player he's unlikely to have more than 10 points on his Captain as he got it from the Christmas boxes, Concealment Expert first of course.

BeauNidl3 replied to Eldarad's topic in General Discussion
Correct, but they could reword it to say Doubloons INSTEAD of currency which can be misunderstood. You however are just trolling as usual. -
It's OK if you learn how to play it well, 9 nice big accurate guns with good AP (HE as well if you must) big heal that helps with it not being the toughest BB out there and it's a Premium at Tier 7 which is generally a friendly tier for MM.

One other thought, the Training room now has the option for moving bots, it may be worth practising with a variety of targets so you get a feel for how the torpedoes work. True the AI is rather good at evading, but you will get familiar with how to read a ships heading, speed and the sort of lead you should be using to land hits. As others have said the torp indicator is useful, but far from 100% as it doesn't take account of the target WASD haxing while the torpedoes are swimming.. You can add a few friendly bots as spotter of course.

How would YOU design U-boat gameplay?
BeauNidl3 replied to Enduro_Biker's topic in General Discussion
Simple answer Submarines wouldn't work in the game. Hydro mechanics (which are tied in completely with the wider spotting mechanics) would have to be completely reworked. Hydro would have to be on constantly , not on a cooldown or limited charges. All DD's and cruisers would have to be Hydro equipped. Depth charges would have to be implemented. Spotting would have to be tweaked for a completely different approach as at the moment there's proximity spotting and submarines wouldn't work in that context. Submarines were all very slow submerged until late in WW2 and not that fast surfaced, plus what about battery charging? There are far too many issues to overcome to sensibly implement submarines in the game. -
Captain slots in consumables containers.
BeauNidl3 replied to Pametrada's topic in General Discussion
Only 79 free (from 118), I keep getting the 4 slots in the Signals and Camouflages containers. I wish they were far less common to get. I too would like to have a way to get rid of the slots and swap them for something useful. -
There are some useful videos about torpedo use, here's one that might be a starting point. Starting your destroyer career at T6 isn't easy, by that point people have at least a basic idea of how to WASD. You may find it useful to start one of the silver destroyer lines and learn DD play at low level. It's a bit more than just how to use your torpedoes effectively, you need to get to grips with how to use your concealment, your consumables and when to use your guns. DD's are a lot of fun, but squishy.

Would an HE-only cruiser be effective?
BeauNidl3 replied to RadioFighterYR's topic in General Discussion
That's not optimal of course, many BB targets at that relatively close range get hammered by cruiser AP if aimed at the upper belt and superstructure, far more so than with HE at a similar range. Depends on the cruiser, angle and range of course. A good deal of the player base is now wedded to HE and only HE, just had a ranked game that was an easy win thrown away by 2 HE spamming Bismarcks and an Atago so of course the opposition cruisers and BB's just showed broadside and destroyed them with AP. -
The Asashio is viable if played well and cleverly, but my conclusion after over 70 games with them in (either side or sometimes many on both) is that only about 3 of them have even the slightest clue how to use the ship. Most won't spot, won't go near a cap despite having equal best concealment and just pointlessly spam torps in the general direction of the enemy, frequently on wide spread. Basically exactly what I expected to the point of being even worse than I feared.

Would an HE-only cruiser be effective?
BeauNidl3 replied to RadioFighterYR's topic in General Discussion
Viable yes and some players have no idea they even have AP anyway. Optimal? Hell no, even with 152's or smaller there are plenty of times when AP is the only right choice, the fact that some people won't ever make the choice is another matter. -
To put the silly "Edinburgh is just free XP and useless in competitive without smoke" argument in context, just had a very comprehensive ranked win where the RADAR Edinburgh supported the DD's effectively, mauled the enemy DD's and contributed strongly to the win. Played right it's a real asset even in a pickup team in Ranked.

new rules abuot shoiting bei mistake a ships from your team is not very god
BeauNidl3 replied to marian_738's topic in General Discussion
Same here. Just yesterday I had to hold fire on what would have been a dead Montana because a friendly Alsace was likely to sail through my torpedo line if he carried on pushing the way he was, which he did. I've screwed up and torpedoed friendlies more often than I should, usually late game because I simply didn't pay enough attention to where friendlies are and where they're heading or might head. Longer range torpedoes like those on Gearing are the riskiest for that sort of poor judgement. The person firing the torpedoes is at fault. -
That's true, clicking any of the Continue buttons under the missions will queue you for a Random even if you just finished a COOP or Operation. Other than that I've not had any issues with ending up in Random battle unexpectedly.
