Those are the only 2 I'd seriously want IFHE on, while it's vital on Akizuki, it's a matter of priorities on Harekaze as while it has lovely guns it's a bit fragile for gunfighting. I can't speak for Tashkent/Khaba as that's the only DD line I've not played.

May I point out that AP bombs do as much if not more devastating damage to cruisers than they do to BB's, @El2aZeR has posted more than once that if they get through the cruisers AA defence they tend to one shot or terminally cripple cruisers, I've been deleted in Des Moines by US AP bombs from nearly full HP and no it wasn't a detonation.

HMCS Haida leak, coming to ST soon
BeauNidl3 replied to FishDogFoodShack's topic in General Discussion
That being said the recent trend is the "basic" ship has something bundled at initial release to up the price a bit, typically exp missions. The Z-39 basic comes with 25 XP missions (which apply on a win or loss, which makes them less useful as they can get wasted on a team that derps). -
Why do some people refer to sailing in formation as 'lemming mode'?
BeauNidl3 replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Completely true and accurate, it reflects my experience with 7k battles. the 80:20 Fail:Succeed ratio is about right and 10 of the succeeds are pure fluke where the enemy team just derps horribly. -
I find RPF extremely useful and Survivability Expert pays off frequently. @reasonable_doubt I suspect I have more DD games than the 1,466 you've played in all classes, I completely disagree with your post.

This^^ No debate Concealment Expert is not even marginally optional. Had some clown in a Kagero in a Ranked a few weeks back with no camo and no CE, he was worse than useless. Playing Gearing without CE is insanity bordering on negligence as at T10 most people will have well over 10 points on their Captains. It's pretty much true from T5/6 that DD's will have 10 point captains.

I wish, I'd swap the 150's for 128's and a sensible reload in a heartbeat. As we all know it's not an option, the ship only comes with the slow firing 150mm guns.

There are plenty of approved mods, they most definitely aren't cheating, they just improve the look and feel of the UI. I actively hate cheating too. As to ships using the tools available to them, that's not unfair. There is ONE DD with radar and smoke the Black which is a reward ship, it has torps so slow that a few ships can almost outrun them. The Pan Asian DD's from Tier 8 can equip a radar, but they have to give up their smoke to do it, the radar is very short duration so it's reliant on the team being useful and actively shooting what their radar spots which is a big ask for randoms.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BeauNidl3 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
@pra3y in his Maass while I was messing about in Perth, game was far too close won by a couple of points after our team did their level best to throw it. 8 a side game at silly o'clock. -
Yup, just noticed them myself, bit of thread necromancy, but my comments still hold.

The fundamental question is why would WG design a rigged MM? What motivation would they have? It's a lot easier to design a random MM that just assembles a team from the first 24 ships of the right type and levels without having to dive into the player database, work out which particular players to assemble into a winning and losing team and even then there's no guarantee that it would result in what was "rigged" as people may play well or poorly. There's no sense to the MM being rigged, it's irrational, I won't call it paranoid as they really are out to get you!

People find trash talking annoying, by your behaviour on the forums I can't say that I'm surprised the enemy team reported it as odds are you were thoroughly rude, you come across as obnoxious on the forums and I'd not be shocked if you're the same in the game. Doubly so since you've declared the intention to spam map pings to annoy people on the teams you get in. Is there anything that can be done to make the block player function also block F keys and map ping spam @MrConway, @Tuccy ? I saw a while back you said you would see if that could be looked into and the map ping and F key spamming chat banned people are just as "unsportsmanlike" as the *edit that refuse to play to spite their teams.

In the last few days I've struggled with my solo win rate in ships where normally I'd win most matches and help carry weaker teams, I admit it's annoyed the hell out of me. I think it's a combination of lousy luck getting teams that threw wins away and a bit of me being on tilt and not playing as well as I can.

Just one of those games you can't carry even as bottom tier. Would have been a Kraken too, but people finished off the Emile and Scharn I'd got down to under 1k HP between them.

There is a discount of a few million silver on GK this weekend. That said it sounds like the KM BB's don't seem as enjoyable as the USN ones to you. There's not much point in you paying a lot of silver for a ship you don't like.

Why do some people refer to sailing in formation as 'lemming mode'?
BeauNidl3 replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
I have seen a few lemming trains work spectacularly well, mostly on the Two Brothers map, but on those rare occasions they were full blooded pushes with a DD or two spotting and Cruisers and BB's running at speed into the enemy and smashing them aside with focus fire and a bit of swapping who's leading the spotted ships to share the damage about. The vast majority of lemmings fail because they lemming to feel safe and camp timidly, then when the enemy crushes the other flank they die to being clobbered from the rear or by a few of the braver souls turning back and being chopped up piecemeal. It ends up with an ignominious defeat. At a guess 90+% of the lemming trains I've seen have been of the timid camping type easy to smash if it's the opposition doing it or an irritating loss if it's the allied ships. Very, very rarely does it pay off. -
So many BB's lately spam HE in battles - What the hell?!
BeauNidl3 replied to Hades_warrior's topic in General Discussion
I have and the way it reads, especially the last sentence is he's claiming not to spam HE as his reload is too slow, but shell spammers are the rapid firing ships he mentioned. It's a weak argument on his behalf. There is undoubtedly some thread drift in there. He's just trying to defend the terrible position that a French BB using nothing but HE is a good idea (if he'd check, HE on French BB's is awful alpha compared to their AP) and has a low base fire chance. The fact is most non Brit BB's firing only HE at targets irrespective of their angles presented are doing a lot less damage than they could by using the right ammo at the right times and a lot of that HE damage can be healed because fires are 100% healable. -

BeauNidl3 replied to Hades_warrior's topic in General Discussion
Since he mentioned Minotaur that has no HE other than maybe secondaries and rapid firing DD's with a low base fire chance I drew the reasonable conclusion. -

BeauNidl3 replied to Hades_warrior's topic in General Discussion
I assume he's referring to raw rate of firing, rather than fires. The raw fact still stands that HE firing Battleships do less effective and lasting damage than they would with AP with the exception of some of the British BB's which have special HE. The excuses that people have made in this thread for firing purely HE from other BB's are just that, excuses to cover up for the fact that even though HE on things like French BB's outright sucks compared to their AP they use it because it's a lazy substitute for aiming, yes the splash damage takes out AA modules, but that's rarely of monumental importance as CV games in upper tiers aren't all that common and Cruisers will be doing that task anyway. Sure resorting to HE is sometimes useful, bows on Yammy or active DD hunting where AP can be a matter of luck to get the freak pens that shouldn't happen, but in most cases it's a bad choice and largely just a way to pad damage numbers. -
Nope, the point (pun intended) is to bang the nails through so that they stick out 4 or 5 inches proud of the other side to really make the educative value stick. Rusty for that extra bit of emphasis.
-
It all depends on how rusty the 10 inch nails are you've banged into the bat head before using it.

He deleted his rant, basically DD's are OP and he can't sail around in straight lines blapping things in his T10 BB.

What happens when Baltimore get's bumped down to T8?
BeauNidl3 replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
I suspected that would be the case, shame that. Oh well I have a fairly large amount of Free XP if I feel the urge to instagrind to the T9 or 10, I've nothing else to spend it on really at the moment as I'm not interested in Musashi and I generate a fair bit of Elite Commander XP playing my 19 pointer Captains. -

BeauNidl3 replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
Existing exp on an elited Cleveland (I have all the current US cruisers from Cleveland in port) will hop to the new T6 Heavy Pensacola or stay on the new T8 Cleveland? Bit of a shame if it's on the Pepsi as it will be useless to me there other than for paid conversion purposes at some point and I'm not exactly short of Free XP at the moment. -

BeauNidl3 replied to Hades_warrior's topic in General Discussion
I've just had a match in my De Grasse, which is a tin can of a light cruiser, I consistently showed broadside to an HE spamming Lyon that hit me a bunch of times and set me on fire about 4 times, this went on for about 8 minutes with him failing to kill me and me battering him with HE and AP. If he'd fired AP at me I'd have had to run away as 1-2 AP salvos that hit as often as his HE would have obliterated me and he wouldn't have sunk. I have no idea why people think French HE is useful compared to their AP. I've seen so many non Brit pure HE firing BB's in the months since the Brits were released I find it absurd. Simple fact is with lousy aim (the Lyon above could aim pretty well) BB HE gives people numbers they feel all rosy about, but compared to AP it's hopelessly ineffective in most cases.
