    You're ignoring the proximity spotting THROUGH islands because it's inconvenient as it makes your radar and hydro rant look a bit silly. You keep on going on about physics, but you ignore the basic physics and mechanical engineering facts that Repair Parties and Damage control work impossibly as do countless other aspects of the game. Torpedo mechanics - Unless they hit at most 45 degrees to a flat surface most torpedoes of the game era wouldn't explode, yet being merely scratched by a passing torpedo in the game sets it off. The number of totally unrealistic and physically impossible things that happen in the game is significant, yet you're only obsessed with one, that being radar seeing through islands, if you make an argument it needs to be valid for most if not all cases for it to be meaningful. Since I possess more than 1 engineering degree, have spent a significant part of the last 20 years working with the Royal Navy, Royal Artillery and a variety of other military organisations I'm not as ill informed as you would like to think, I'm absolutely certain many other posters on the forum have plenty of real world knowledge as well, so again your argument falls rather flat. No matter how many threads there are and how hard you yell about it (with poorly constructed arguments) the game mechanics work the way the developers want them to work, you either deal with it and adapt or do something else.

    Indeed @Xevious_Red, but he seems delighted to wave the realism flag at Radar, but more than happy to ignore the other totally unrealistic things that make the game actually worth playing, he's not debating, he's at the point of fantasy and trying to make his case that Radar is the end of the world. As a DD driver I frequently get radared, shot up and have learned how to cope if I've not put myself into an unrecoverable spot. Radar is in the game and the game developers have said they're happy with the operating mechanics, the "reality" is you either accept that or play something else, no matter how many moan threads are created that's not likely to change.

    That's correct, applies to all ships with secondaries, the firing from smoke mechanics applies to main guns only, as is visible in the ship stats in port and via H key. @Cpt_wheel the smoke mechanics were changed some time ago specifically to stop BB's smoke camping or even pushing smoke cruisers out of their own smoke and the gun blooms mechanic has hurt smoke equipped ships much harder than it's hit BB's.

    I'm glad you've made it that way, having specific targets like sinking 3 Soviet ships on a Wednesday when it's raining is just aggravating, generic is far the most sensible approach even if people complain it's a bit dull. Thanks for confirming that the missions are effectively endless.

    That's exaggeration at the extreme end to the point of being fantasy, the reason there are lots of Radar cruisers at the moment is because of the release of 2 cruiser lines which are radar equipped. Chappayev has radar, as does Donskoi, Moskva and the old T8-10 US cruisers, T8 and above RN cruisers can ALL carry radar oh and the PA DD's can too, but most don't. In reality it's not Radar being OP (no matter how much you want to paint it that way) it's the fact people have radar equipped cruiser lines to grind.

    No constructive comments because you made yet another Radar moan thread when there are many on the first few pages of the forum, it's tedious. As to the bit I've bolded I've had that scenario repeatedly on every high tier map in Fletcher, additionally:- Gearing Shimakaze Akizuki Z52 and 46 Grozevoi Yueyang Chung Mu The reality of a new line changing what ships play is nothing new, in fact it's a constant of every new line release. In truth as a DD player I prefer less DD's as they are far the bigger risk to me than Radar cruisers over the course of a game.

    Not interested in either ship, I have Alabama which I don't play that much and Monaghan looks uninspiring. I can see both in the shop and I had a popup in game trying to get me to buy the Massachusetts. I have Premium.

    That's only 1 of the 10 or so created in the last week. Seems to be the favourite whine topic. Oh and before people say "but you only play radar ships" I play about 45% of my games in high tier DD's (no you can't check my stats are hidden and will stay that way - mostly because it annoys the stat whores). Oh and the whole "realism" argument goes totally out of the window as:- 1. This is a game NOT a simulator. 2. If it was realistic all maps would be ocean. 3. Fires and floodings take more than a few seconds to remedy, as do jammed turrets etc. 4. Most gunfire would miss. 5. Radar and Hydro would be on permanently. 6. All fleets would be little more than AA pickets for the CV's and would never get in gun or torpedo range. etc etc etc ..... It's a daft argument to use.

    That does sound backwards, I'd be interested in seeing if it's intentional. I'm fairly sure this isn't the case on any other ship either.

    Warning THIS IS SPECULATION, I HAVE NO EVIDENCE AS I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE CODE It is possible that the reason Hydro and Radar can see through islands is they coded them as a mechanic to see through obscuring smoke and out of spotting range ships so they totally ignore line of sight to anything in range to make it work. To change the mechanic would no doubt need some hefty coding or at least some significant effort they see no value in expending. It doesn't matter how much a few people yell about it on the forums, the mechanics are coded in and they've given a reason (which may seem silly) that they won't be changing it.

    If you keep spamming threads on the same subject which has been discussed countless times and WG have said a clear "NO" to then all you do is make an annoyance of yourself. It won't improve the situation, just make people ignore your posts. WG know some people hate the radar mechanics, it's not a mystery that will be exposed by multiple moan threads.

    Posts 7 and 8 explained it very clearly. You fired a salvo:- 3 Shells connected. 1 shell gave an overpen ribbon 2 shells gave citadel hit ribbons Not at all complicated. Citadel ribbons ARE hit ribbons.

    That's a matter of perspective, some people would define improving the game to be limited to changes in the actual gameplay, rather than the game environment as a whole. Since this is a Russian company I decided to use the wording I did to make sure it's not easily misunderstood. I happen to agree that user experience IS part of improving the game, but having spent a considerable time working with people who speak English as a second, third or fifth language I wanted to avoid doubt.

    Dedicated gunboats really don't work well unless they have weird features like the Khaba, having a new line that basically requires IFHE and has poor torpedoes isn't appealing as smoke sitting in the current game is not only suicidal it's ineffective. What I had hoped for was a solid DD line with effective torpedoes and adequate guns, I didn't expect OP or gimmicky. At the moment neither of those boxes are ticked, also meh AA, and short range hydro just makes them look like a poor mans KM DD. Edit: - The N class being actively worse than the Gadjah Mada is plain insulting as well.

    Considering the irritation factor to many players, it might be worth seeing if it could be bumped up the priority list a bit. True it doesn't improve the game, but it could certainly improve the user experience. The fact is putting someone on ignore or blacklist should also block the deliberate map ping and Fkey spamming which some do just to annoy your customers. I do hope it can be resolved as it would be a useful change unlike the perfectly usable Division window that got tied to the chat function and frankly is plain bad now.

    Weak short range torpedoes and poor to indifferent guns, completely unimpressed. I had high hopes for RN DD's, but if they end up like this they will be very meh.

    ^^^ What he said. Once you know how to aim AP is almost always the best ammunition to use from a BB, it does a LOT more base damage. BB's firing HE is pretty brainless, sure it pads your damage stats and it means you don't have to bother to aim, but as you go up the tiers you will see that HE spamming BB's are useless, apart from the RN silver line ships that have special HE and a good RN BB driver will use AP when a suitable target is there. I've seen Hood and Warspite drivers firing HE which is utterly comical as they have very ordinary and very bad HE. Ignore the people that tell you French BB's should use HE, their HE is very ordinary to the point of it being quite crappy, their AP and large number of guns though leads to great results, assuming you can aim. The scenario you paint @PanzerThuran is one where people don't know how to use their Damage Control party, putting out one fire is bad play (unless that single fire will kill you obviously). Like most here I've seen many games thrown away by people in BB's not firing AP at targets that would have been dead had they swapped after their last salvo.

    How many times is this wonderful Italian chap going to wobble on about the all conquering (OK, they didn't as the Royal Navy kept them bottled up in a duck pond called the Med) Italian Navy and try to claim it was something special? This isn't the first time I've seen the ridiculous claim it was the Third best navy of the 2nd World War, it's not just inaccurate it's total fantasy.
  25. Pretty much the same here. Completed all the missions so far, bought 0 from the shop (I don't care enough about collections to blow cash on them), no ship missions.
