submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
Butterdoll replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, and do you know why? @Pikkozoikum? From videos they are extremely weak, so weak that bbs can't shoot them, CLs can't shoot them (when they were oxygen based), and now is worse. Now the only thing that can do something about it, it's cls and dds with depth charges WG took from the players the ability of shoot them with main guns, Hydro doesn't work for them. Subs are that weak, but in the meanwhile they have, stupid concealment and nuclear, heat seeking torps that can annihilate everything they touch. As is, for subs to work the other players have to roll over and show the broadside. Sink a ship without guns, secondaries, hydro, Big deal. this game is called World of warships, not world of merchant ships or world of Maritime tycoon. -
Potatoes dominate this game, they are masters of this game their influence knows no limits. Sometimes the team with the most potatoes win. Put an Unicom with potatoes and he will lose Put a potato with potatoes, and he will win Bracketing players will not work. Potatoes are everywhere, present in every level.

Small correction. where free to play ends and you are free to pay for it starts :)

Wrong. If the hall of fame is people that end the event with PR (with or without golden boosters or doubloons to end the construction), there are (last time I checked) 87 people in a server with what? 23 k, 24 k? It proves nothing . Even if you add the people who bought the ship at full prize. that is pitiful , petty minded. Next time we know we have to ask for permission to buy or unlock a ship. That happens all the time NFL flag mission, 24 ships, 18 were French (the 35 k XP in 4 days one) PR event, 24 ships, 6 to 8 were Gorizias. PEV, Bismarck, RNBBs, you name it and don't forget the hundreds waiting in the queue. @The_Chiv It's meh that you didn't enjoy this task, but you choose to take this event by the horns , and you did it in the hardest way. It's worth it ? Hell, no. (if you ask me) . But well done, enjoy that ship, you deserve it
-
I wouldn't go as far, but ultimately it's us that make the prize. if the event was a failure in sails, WG would stop this type of things. but this is bigger than us. Today I saw a video of Claus Kellerman and he talked about a 300 euros German panzer j2 or something . Not only cost 300 euros but they nerf it to oblivion, putting it down tier in a MM +-2 and power creeping it, because they couldn't change the tank. Warships is doing the same thing (regarding prices) and so far, it's sticking.
-
Most probably they made a projection of how many ship they would sell. If it was cheaper or for the masses, that 10 ship would cause a turmoil. So, they "blocked" the access for the masses, unless you paid a good amount of money. Fewer units, bigger price. I can assure they had a number in their heads, even before they come up with the dockyard thing. they would reach that figure if they sold 3000 ships or 200.

I think not. 1- That DD can't escape, if you let him go, he could cap later because he already bypass the frontline and can be in concealment for the entire remaining game if he wants to, or go after you when you are already occupied with something else 2 - he can go for BBs, Cvs or simply do some crossfire and reek havoc between the green team lines. 3 - not always the other players are aware of that, our dds could be spotting other corners of the maps, the cv is chasing damage, etc. if you get one or two more ships to help you are lucky or he could simply attract a fair portion of your team to his position for a considerable time causing a opening for a defeat. That is also valid to reset the cap, but you can only reset what you see. Someone has to do it. Forget for now half of his team. A solo DD in smoke is very dangerous, rushing it, it's very risky business, many times comes down who is the biggest derper.who will drop the ball first. Now regarding half of his team Sometimes the only thing you can do is remaining in cap as long as you can. praying that your team will arrive in time. It's not that hard, if you are running hydro or if you are just seeing the dd it's already point blank range adding to this the necessity of dodging or launching torps, so, it's quite possible. Sorry, I'm not talking about domination (perhaps the confusion), I'm more flexible in this mode I'm talking about standard, a single cap. Either way, point being, DD vs CL, solo or with backup, can go either way- the advantages that they could have over each other are very situational and very dependable of other things. I think the problem of dds are elsewhere, because Cruisers can already have the hands full while trying to deal with them, if you nerf cruisers, they will remain with nothing.
-
Why don't you pick a CL and find out why for yourself? - Pretty much all of them - Because reasons, they are plenty of them, plenty of situations where the CL has to go near/rush a dd. - In many situations the DD can delete a CL Let me set up this. Do you see a cap? Now imagine that cap is being flipped by a dd, the hydro in your CL is short range (and yes I'm talking about german hydro), the closer you get to the dd, the harder it becomes to dodge the torps, it is practically point blank range. The CL knows that as soon as 6km or less, the dd will became spotted, but the dd is seeing the CL approaching for a while now. The CL has much less time to do anything than the DD. Now, in top of that the DD can be 2 tiers higher than the CL, that will mean that the DD can out DPM and citadel the CL to the next kingdom. while if even the DD is 2 tiers lower than the Cruiser (most probably a CA) the DD can out DPM the cruiser and still citadel the CA. That's a head start, now go pick a CL and find out the rest. Happy now? p.s. you speak about creeping in, that's easy with a higher concealment .

Subs, what a crap show. -
I started with 91k and I ended the Halloween with +- 1.570.000 k and right now I have 1.600.000 k Initial was enough for 2 19 point captains, but I'm going to squeeze in a third one in the package Soon, I will go from 0 19 point captains to 3 at the same time. Those three captains will help a fourth one, and those four will help the others.

No. More like this one.

Sorry, I didn't knew that. But it was a joke. In the PEV, the "Journey" was more rewarding that the reward itself, in simple terms was Fun and I was motivated to get the reward, a T6 ship. - I played ships that I like - I played ships that I was falling for/rediscovering Such thing didn't happen with this event. I did it for the coal and mainly for the Special Flags, I was depleted after my Halloween grind for elite XP.

Up to 600 minutes per day = up 10 hours of gameplay. I finished D3 and I took almost a week to start playing again, today I made my first 6 random battles and already call it for today. I only hope next Christmas there will not be a t10 or t9 ship as a reward ship.
-
No wonder you are in Space 180 hours? You didn't spend money, just your soul. But this is supposed to do several times and having fun while doing it. PEV campaign was fun, the ship is Meh, but all in all I'm ok with the ship and I even take it out from times to times. Well, congratulations, that was a feat. Enjoy your new ship.

The Thunderer. Love her or Loathe her?
Butterdoll replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
I wasn't talking about beauty. after seeing some videos with a JB brawling (flambass) after seeing some videos about the Thunderer (e.g. Flamu, Flambass) JB it's more appealing, at least for me. Being in a ship knowing I can't go in, there's something lacking feeling, even if I do good in it. It's not as enjoyable as... -

JB looks nicer -
I still have 70 days of premium left. But this year I will do the same as you, maybe not 2 days but 30 or 90 instead of an entire year. this way I'm not "forced" to came back or play "against my will"/when I don't feel like the main reason why I come back from my second break. And this year will be subs in the game and I won't be able to shoot them down. I learned my lesson in 2019. very risky, but premium time is one or the most important/relevant thing to buy in the all store.
-
I bought it last year, and then, the cv rework happened. I did two breaks and only enjoyed half of premium year that I bought, the rest was wasted. This year, the subs will appear, so I will not buy a year
-
Hey, how about me? To me, the tech tree could end at t6, everything else could be premium And besides... Since WG cut off t5 from Operations that would lead to no where As matter of fact all my premium ships are port queens, some of them are worse than the silver ships. Regarding the dockyard, they can scrap that concept, it's a thing that's there and nothing more.

well, that was a bucket of cold water over my hot summer night dream. It can stop yamato shells but it can't brawl

I just comment to your comment about Conqueror. I didn't gave any advice, I just pointed out, From what I saw, this ship can be very good or could be very bad depending on the person who is handling it and depending of the style of game of the person. You can be very good and know all the mechanics but if the ship doesn't fit in your gameplay, why have it then? Now it's up to OP to decide.

Stalingrad might win? What? Are you talking about Stalingrad? Can't citadel? How about those dev strikes and lol huge pens in the ccs videos? Russian Bias? Man, could you elaborate more? Since the announcement I am heading that way, I even got some steel (I'm lacking a lot yet for Stalingrad) Meanwhile , I'm heading for the poor's man Stalingrad, Moskva. thank you. p.s. @Excavatus, my first impulse is to call your clan mate, crazy.

Comparing Conqueror with a Slingshot...right. How the Mighty falls I remember the time when the RNBB were released, they burned everything, everyone, not even the cv rework was that hard for cruisers as the RNBBs were. they would set you on fire with a turret and you would use your RP the next shot would put you on fire again and you were dead, even if you managed the use of your RP wouldn't change a thing. Conqueror was the Apex of all that. with a low tier cruiser detection and a monster heal @Inappropriate_noob, I don't have T10s, but Conqueror's reputation proceeds it. Suggestion: Pick the toughest ship of the two. The one that will give you more survivability. I saw the Flamu video about Thunderer, and considering the Flamu gameplay vs my own gameplay and by the fact that's not an easy ship to play. It's pure garbage, he may like the ship, but to me I would hate it if I had one. The guns might be deadly, might be accurate but they will not save who makes mistakes. I have a ship that simply doesn't care about being down tier, lot's of guns and deadly ones, I do ok in it as long I remember not to for my game style. It's a port queen not because it's bad but because it doesn't fit in what I like to do.

Just a few suggestions: (I think it will help) - Have a notion of the torp ranges of several DD lines and cruisers lines, from t6 to t8 E.g. German cruisers have 2x3 6 km torps each side, and the exception, Graf Spee has 1x4 8 km torps. each side Don't let them be that close to you or keep that distance from them. - Be unpredictable, make slight turns time to time, if necessary change speed too. - don't push towards them, let them push to you while you kite (going away from them) - pay attention where the detected dds are Use PT (priority target) in your favour. Let's say for the sake of a example, there are two ships targeting you, the drops down to 1 and goes up to 2 again shortly after, that means that someone just launched torps against you, and it's time to evade (change direction and/or speed. But yeah, if so many ships are targeting you, something it's not right. - or you are over extended or you manage to isolate yourself from the rest of your fleet You as a BB has to have something in front of you to screen the "field" for you Yeah, that has to do with the armour of your ship and yourself. - go to co-op to learn how to angle better, and how to minimized the damage taken. - Learn how to manage the RP (repair Party) and Health consumable. Don't repair a single fire, safe the RP for when you are hit with torps or when there are two or more fires burning in your ship (unicoms, usually use the heal instead of PR after the first fire or +- 30 seconds after the fire is burning) This way you will lose HP but not much, and if you have AR (adrenaline rush) that will cut down your reload time and make your guns shoot faster By this time, If I don't see Bismarcks or Tirpitz or Gneisenaus/Scharhorst I will be sad. I'm fighting them as long as I remember, So get used to them until you are comfortable with them. Beware with GCs, Nagatos, Lyons. Don't take a t7/t8 BB head on. Or you Wait for the shots of the other BB to turn after or you just turn (I don't know if your NM can take it as well as my Bayern) Kite and stay angled, shoot HE and AP HE if your AP shots are bouncing or shattering or making ricochets, shoot HE until you see he blown the repair party and is on fire again and change back to AP Don't be greedy by trying to shoot with your frontal guns, wait for the other guy greed and when he's opening his guard, shoot. If all is going according to plan, by the time they reach you they are a wreck. No, most probably just submarines. go to youtube Flamu + name of the ship Flambass + name of the ship Migthy Jingles+name of the ship Notser +name of the ship IChase +name of the ship No zoup for you +name of the ship Whiskey's gaming lounge +name of the ship
