Is so funny (not) when one of your flanks go for the red cv, yes, most of the times they sink him, but most of the times that cost the victory to the green team.
-
Pretty common. And I agree with you but all kinds of ships do that instead of resume capping
-
pretty much hopeless, most of the times against dd's, or other ships.
-
And for you to (cv player) because if a flanks it's open for what they go after next? cv or cap? It's the cv. But, hey, perhaps this way a cv can contribute even with his sinking, putting several red ships out of position, out of the fight. And in standard, that leaves only that juicy, helpless cv.

"...upper belt armour all the way to the deck it's 70 mm, it means, not only is going to be immune to HE but also can be overmatched by the likes of Yamato..." "central deck it's 45 mm, secondary's 40 mm, some parts of the super structure is also 45 mm... so the amount of HE damage you can deal to this ship it's pretty limited, it's mostly bow, stern and some parts of the super structure... so quite resistant to any sort of HE spam" "even the torpedo belt it's quite impressive, it's got a 40% torpedo belt damage reduction..." Flamu. Quite a task for 152/155 mm guns, in close/mid range, if you live long enough. and yes I've seen Roma burn, but...

The problem with this kind of ships, they are victims of their own success. At the top of my head one BB that I'm not fan to engage it's the Giulio Cesar, those guns are killers. Now, I saw Roma, resistant to fires, faster than Bismark, 12 seconds rudder shift, 810 m of turning circle, range +- 18kms, with a concealment of 11. something kms, with an belt armour of 385 mm or something like that. yeah, so, stealthier than most of cruisers (forget high tiers), manoeuvrability wise it's in ca/cl territory. Meanwhile I'm looking to my port and thinking... I've got nothing to through at it, maybe 3 ships at the most, maybe Myoko which it's not ready yet. LaGal or my buddy. Yes, I have A BB in my port, a Bayern, full stock version. Nice. I'm just imagining the MM when Roma will be release. 2 dd, 1 cl/ca and 9 BB's for each side, hell, 1 dd, 1 cl/ca and 10 BB's for each side. But, hey I can buy/grind Roma, and getting a huge and super fat cruiser. Don't feel like it, thou.

Hy. I want your advice about the captain's skills, because I have no idea what to choose and I'm struggling with this some time now. and yes, I see the videos that you see with the captain's build and everything. But the problem it's meta. I'll give you an example, when the RNBB appeared they set everything on fire, permanent fires were the death of many cruisers, to worsen even more, everybody started spamming HE, then WG decided to reduced by half? the time of the fires. In that time the fire extinguisher thingy was a must have, but now with all of those dds coming soon perhaps the torpedoes alert thingy it's a must have. What's the best captain's setup for all situations? I kind know what I want, the problem is having to choose because 19 points is short. I did not mess up yet with this captain, and don't want to in the future. So I appreciate some help. thank you.

????? I State several times that I'm a cruiser guy, surface fleet player in this topic. If you didn't got it it's not my fault. P.s.- By the way, how do you do that thing Hat plus name in blue?
-
Yes, I understand what you are saying and I think we are saying almost the same thing, cvs could be more flexible not a mirror for each other, there's more than what's going on between two cvs. and AS will be always inferior to strike either way. I saw just now a green cv lose the air battle and badly, how? there were still red bombers in the sky, in fact they torp me while I was engaging a bb two tiers above mine cruiser (not going badly to that point.) Then I saw the green cv full steam ahead in the front line going straight away to that bb I was engaged with moments ago. You shouldn't have to choose between this build or that build as cruisers shouldn't have to choose between AA and Hydro, the cv, any cv just doesn't have enough fighters to go around, that is why we are always asking for fighters. And perhaps if AS configurations are more viable in ranked that's because they are less players, more coordination/communication and a strategy put in place, random battle are another thing. So keep your bombers as is but you need more fighters for random. p.s.- 4 akatsukis, 1 Kidd , 1 Benson since our last conversation all with my buddy. Things are not that clean cut, you know? The problem with those, they are in a clear disadvantage to deal with everything else, and you can do an entire battle with the cv player avoiding you, you can end up with no planes shot down and useless against that smoked up dd and you are the nearest , so, let's do something different then, the cv will avoid you no mater what, let's go for hydro to catch that red dd capping the green base or doing area denial, the cv will never notice and you will catch that dd with his pants down, or do some torpedo detection for a bb or even a cv. Same can be applied to radar And things go even worst for others, you now? If you have AA you are blind in the battlefield, if you get hydro you have literally no AA, even Cleveland without the consumable it's a little bit crappy, let's be honest. This last ones the choice is easier they suck in AA anyway. That's also true, I need to get better. yeah, and then their are those J or A liners and what not. Today I had a battle where I had to cap twice with my buddy, right flank had three dds, our flank had none, the battle was going bad, right flank manage to fail, but we few, happy few ( 5 ships) manage to secure victory...just. (no cv thou). don't forget damage to modules, etc. So, yes, cv it's important. P.s.- I don't know if it's MM fault but I'm getting some nasty red cv players, making drops point blank.

First of all, I'm not saying bombers aren't important, they have their place and do their job by relieving the work load in the front lines or at the rear line ( green base). but the fighters can do wonders as well especially for a low aa and with bad manoeuvrability cruiser. I will, at the moment can't decide which one of your choices. the first you will be a lot safer (fighters) as long as you didn't fall to a trap (bait), cover the green ships and leave your defence to us surface fleet ( against dd´s, cl's, bb's) ( I grant you, that could be a leap of faith), and do none or small damage the second seems to be a lot riskier, to be at mercy of the red fighters, relying on allied AA fire, but having more potential damage and subtracting some red ships. Both offers offensive and defensive capabilities. But can I ask you the same question? and Why? Just don't say bait over AA bubbles, not every ship could be AA specked even the ones that should. You have to count with this. that's the thing cvs could be more flexible

I'm not talking about me but about the bigger picture, but let's talk about mistakes.(in my opinion). I know every time I choose the weaker flank to reinforce I do by my own choice and I accept the consequences. How about trident map, domination, bottom part. start of the battle, I'm waiting to see where I'm needed with my cruiser, going left or going right? after a while the right flank folds down (4 ships, full hp), they start going to the left, so, somebody has to go there to spot and/or delay. I request aa support just in case and request support. Only the cv eared me. I spotted a Cleveland and 1 more ship, things are not looking good, more will come, specially if there's no green ships there. I'm full hp so I can take a strike from the cv, the Cleveland starts going after me and I put an island between me and him to wait him, cv keeps him spotted for me...but wait, he redrew his planes, now I'm blind. -spot the Cleveland, pls . - it's a Cleveland - So what? I only ask you to spot not to attack. How about fault line, standart battle, the dd won't spot the place of c cap, went between c and b and there's always 3 or 4 red ships coming that way, Or you have to cap in your cruiser because a Mutsuki thinks he's a bb and did nothing but staying at the border, hell, Once I saw a green cv cap the bottom cap in two brothers. Or about two brothers, where no one want's to go to that flank or pulled out because? Those are some of the big mistakes to worry about, with cv or without cv. Yes, you can end up alone or be alone in a flank, but when one of your flanks don't do their job, then what? The cv it's better than super-man or could be. I'm not speaking of a ship or two in one flank (would be nice, thou) I'm talking about when an entire flank it's beeing neglected. I'm very far to be a Tuskegee air man, but I saved a few cvs already in hopes that they would or could make the difference, the last one, I went alone to fetch him because nobody else cared about him, against three ships ( a dd, two cls) our luck was they came one at the time and I managed to land some citadels in both cruisers and we got some team support at the end. that's also a mistake? Apparently yes because I was at least half of my former hp.

You know, looking at them in the port seeing all the setups I often think to myself. What the hell I 'm suppose to do with this? (number of squadrons, and squadrons ratio) Too few squadrons to my taste. My first pick if I went to a cv line would be AS, even today, . Then in a topic about me ranting about cv's they showed me the limitation that a cv has. And as is, you and the rest are probably right. The strike setup maybe it's the least of all evils. But still bad. While every one is winning about the upcoming buffs to the ships AA, maybe this a sign that cv going to have more squadrons in the future. Each time you press the battle button you put yourself in the hands of your team, right? one of the problems, of what you're saying it's good players don't came often or are against your team, but yes, I think I can spot a good/average cv player/ balanced MM, now. Every useful cv is invisible and if you go through a game without a problem or many problems with planes and some assists, you know it's a useful cv player that you have on your side. Sorry, it's the only answer I can give you.
-
That's true, but I think you can ask to every surface fleet player what he prefer most of the times. A bomber or a fighter? Look, all I'm saying is, the times that the red cv will most probably get you, is when you are isolated or dealing with something or both, what he send for you? bombers, what you need, fighters. No, no, no. they help annoying a lot more ships, if he manage to clean the sector, the red(s) have to deal with more green ships . And no. Bombers will help the team. One or two ships less to worry about or make them manoeuvre when they can't perhaps dealing a death blow over time, but fighters can mean the world. for a ship or a flank thus for the team.

Yes, I know the cool down times and others stuff. But just in the other day I was in a battle, we were four, we punched through a flank, we sunk a budyonni, a dd, and a scharhorst, by that time we were two, me and a gneise, against two others bbs, After that engagement only me was what's left of that flank, I was on my last legs, we were losing, our cap under attack, capping was the only thing I could do and had time for it or at least to relieve the green cap, but there was a red cv, I wasn't spotted yet, so I didn't enter cap and decide to hunt the cv first, than a TB squadron appeared and spotted me, soon other squadron appeared I was cross dropped to kingdom came, with DB bombers on the way for me. The end in defeat by points. if the guy (green cv) had two fighters squadron to spare we might could've won. Yes they are stories that goes both ways, but like this one are more has the other way. But still...

Pan Asian Destroyers - They're a bit rubbish
Butterdoll replied to invicta2012's topic in General Discussion
I knew it. ahahahah. battleships are always the first to run. yeah I'm starting to catch those (since yesterday), in my last battle for today I sunk 2. My fears don't materialized yet but I will not sing victory before the right time, maybe you and few others are the point of the sword, because MM in low tiers were saturated one day ago. So if we follow logic, a few days it's enough for the tier we are at the moment becomes saturated as well. and then the geese will overcame the pig (or something like that, never mind, different topic). But did you see PA DD's flamu's video? Pretty scary stuff, for a couple of cl's to deal with. (apart from the higher tiers where they loose a bit of steam, against Benson and Fletcher but still very nasty. -
I wont go so far as that. At the end, you would do a lot more than that if you manage to "declaw" the red cv. (in your hypothetical scenario)

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Butterdoll replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Congratulations. Was a pleasure to see you playing like that, (hope you are not a dd main). ahahahah. But while seeing you playing I was thinking at the same time, what a dreadful ship. I'm not sorry to sold my smith, what a sorry ship. -
I'm not denying the importance of dB/TBs but... fighters are better. While the first can smooth the game the last ones can save your ship.
-
wait a minute, all he have to do is shoot down planes or mess up their drops, that's it. damage comes later if necessary. I rather see green fighters in the air than green bombers. Air cover.

All lines but British, t4 to t7, slightly delay in German line, t5 only but the main focus is t6 and t7. Well so far, in all my main cruisers I'm thinking going the same way. I still have ships with captains without any points allocated. And have some captains that are a testament to when I first started this game.(mistakes). so far, IFA,AR, DE, CE. I'm undecided about the next step ( here where I'm now to 19 points) I just don't have the sufficient points left, or I be left with one point I've done the maths. I will need EL, EM and I'm between Jack of all trades, HA, or BS. and FP or Vigilance. I'll need one each of the last two.

Sorry. Cruisers.

just chance OS. spectrum 48k. Amiga 64 286, 386 and 486. Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 OH, happy days. -
No, no, waves, huge waves, like in a storm, dispersion and all. I saw a topic or a video while ago, about a ship that one of his guns (AA, secundaries? I can't remember now)had to be removed because it was nearly impossible to shoot from it when the sea was rough.

20 DDs in a game (19 of them Longjiang) - any advance on that?
Butterdoll replied to Parkerzilla's topic in General Discussion
that's the thing, from what I saw I and others will take the full brunt of the new line, not even talking about the dwt, but the 6 sec of visibility . between smokes that they have, and low detectability, others dds could support but again, those guns are something to not forget, if you are a dd. BB are bad as is, they are very unreliable at best and that is being nice to them. Now, they probably will punch through the border to the next map. And I don't have radar yet, only hydro, I don't know the effects of hidro on dwt, dectability wise. they are slow but reach far, and you will be pulled to close distances to be able to do something . And they are fast, so hard to hit at mid/high distances. Every time that happens, a release of a line, RN BB e.g. things normally sucks. Most probably the MM will be saturated with dds, very few BBs, and a couple of cl/ca, so will be a lot of goose. I don't know, but not much you can do against 3 dds example given. short range/duration hydro it's all I got., normally two charges. the cruiser will be the first to go booommm.
