What the most likely stupi.. ehh "feature" WG is going to pull next
Fat_Maniac replied to MarChil's topic in General Discussion
Gold ammo. You know its coming at some point. They've broken every other 'that will never come to the game' they spouted. Introduction is guaranteed to rid the game of complaining vet players, and leave WG with the silent majority happy to take whatever they are told will improve their 43% WR -

Short answer is No.

Nation vs nation simply doesn't work from a balance point of view. Nor does Axis vs Aliies. Believe me I know, we tried many times in clan to have events based on historical battles or nation vs nation, axis vs allies. Smoke and hydro simply cannot compete against smoke and radar for example.

[From Reddit] New Features announced at the Waterline 2023 video
Fat_Maniac replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Indeed, using WG's very own aim bot -
The CV rework was never intended to fix CV play, the rework happened because the RTS playstyle wouldn't work on consoles, and WG wanted the PC and console gameplay to be the same, so they could use and maintain the same engine code and mechanics on both platforms.

Why are so many ships restricted in the next CB?
Fat_Maniac replied to RazorBlade72's topic in General Discussion
But you can get them. You just have to wait for Santa crates and go whale, or get very very lucky -
No No. For the real I must pay to win because I can't be bothered to learn the game crowd, you have to .... produce something blatantly OP, sell the bejayzus out of it, then take another existing hull and pimp it up to the point its more OP than the first, so you can sell the bejayzus out of that too. As you start to run out of clones and gimmicks simply throw in a new top tier and you can start the cycle all over again and have fun engaging in wet dream fantasy alternative history, look what could have been built shenanagans.

It's no side effect. It's deliberate marketing, designed to boost sales of loot boxes.

HEARTS OF OAK ****** We still make them feel and we still make them flee,And drub them ashore as we drub them at sea,Then cheer up me lads with one heart let us sing,Our soldiers and sailors, our statesmen and king. ****** Hearts of Oak is a clan named after the upbeat Royal Navy march, aimed at capitalising on the upcoming Scenarios Mode as well as friendly division or event play between players interested in Naval History. We aren't bothered about competitive play so much as the context and history of naval warfare. That being said, healthy competition is always welcome whether it be in one of our unique and historical Fleet Engagements* or who knows the most about HMS Victory! As such, enthusiasts of earlier periods as well as the 20th century are also very welcome. Stats and battle count aren't important here in the slightest, though a desire to improve is strongly encouraged. What you should be able to offer us: A genuine and sincere interest in naval history; regardless of period. The motivation to join in with scenario battles on occasion. A friendly, mature approach to both gaming and historical discussion. A favourite era/period A favourite ship type/class/line Ability to speak and/or type English at any level*** Voice chat is required in this clan. You will need to join in on our Discord Server and be an active part of our community. What HEART offers you: Unique Fleet Engagements! Re-live history! Healthy academic conversation or debate about naval history/history in general Open, chilled and friendly Random battle divisions Grinding help or assistance and training with the game itself The possibility of inter-clan play. The option to leave us at any time for any reason Sorry, but as a mature group, where mutual respect is compulsory applications from those 18+ will be considered Interested? Leave a comment and one of us will PM you!

who does the respawn and matchmaker in this game.
Fat_Maniac replied to maybe__baby's topic in General Discussion
In this context respawns could refer to the enemy ships dropping in and out of concealment, which opens a whole new can of worms for the OP. -
Let's openly discuss the biggest problem in WoWs - the absolute player base rock bottom degradation / decay...
Fat_Maniac replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately WG don't care if the player base know the basics. In fact that knowledge would work against their business model. WG simply want people to spend money and lots of it trying to buy success, before they become frustrated and move on to another game.- 40 replies

[From Reddit] Interesting new site - World of Warships Lootbox Whaling Simulator
Fat_Maniac replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I see only one problem. Unless that site uses the exact same Random Number Generating algorithm that WG use the results it gives will not necessarily be very accurate or reliable, more ball park estimates.. -

[Poll] How many "Black" ships do you have in port?
Fat_Maniac replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I have two, obtained from containers I've picked up. Alaska B Kearsarge B. -
Ohh I didn't know that, might take her for a spin later then

Had some dubs I've collected from freebies over the year so chanced my luck getting to stage four for 2x Black Friday containers. WG will say I'm lucky .... I say thanks for the port queen.
-
Just read the rules and it says this ... "If a container drops an item from the Ships group, you will receive a ship that you do not already have." So I read that as if yo have all other ships listed and you get a ship roll then you will receive the Sherman.

There aren't any reliable facts, that I know of. However you could PM @YabbaCoe @MrConway or @Crysantos they may be able to tell you specifically why you where banned in this instance.

I would like to participate. Many thanks to all offering prizes, and OP for organising again this year.

Black Friday premium containers drop rate??? a lie
Fat_Maniac replied to Cruxeel's topic in General Discussion
You need to read this devblog article. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/229 WG have made it very very clear, and tried to explain how probability works. The Important bit is this ... A probability does not guarantee that opening a specific number of containers will give you the desired reward. For example, the probability to get a specific reward set to 10% does not mean that you're guaranteed to get it if you open enough containers. Statistics and probabilities best reflect the situation for a large number of events (in this example, the event is opening one container). The bigger the number of said events is, the closer the result will be to the expected value. For example, tossing a coin 10 times won't necessarily lead to 5 tails and 5 heads even though the probability is 50% for each of them. But if there would be many thousands of coin tosses, then the share of different sides will be close to 50%. As a consequence of this peculiarity, there might be those who're lucky with opening containers and those who are not. It is possible that even opening 50 containers a player won't get a desired reward which has a 10% drop chance, just because chance was not on their side. At the same time, unlike the "lucky" ones who get the desired item from their first container, or get 5 of such items from their 10 first containers, the first player could be upset by the outcome. And the fact that, statistically, the number of people with that same outcome is very low is hardly a consolation for the player.
