Play however you want is the answer I think. If the team element of the game is important too you then not damaging or burdening your teammates games will be a bigger influence on your play style and game development. The whole point is there really is no right or wrong answer.

Also, repeated firing could damage the barrels. Us Brits had issues with barrel droop and striping the linings out when we tried to develop 18" guns. I believe the big BB guns had to be repaired and serviced on a regular basis and especially after an engagement.

Why is being a potato horrible? I thought potato was a term used to describe an average player. Statistically the vast majority of players will be average. So why does being where most people are have to be bad? I don't have a problem with game stats, I review mine to see if I'm getting better in terms of damage dealt and kills, but I do find it difficult to accept that being a potato is bad. The vast majority can never be good or unicum. All that can happen if the player base gets better is that the average moves up, as damage etc rise. Being a unicum or good gets harder as players improve. Well that's the theory.

If anybody wants to talk history in a clan, think about coming and joining us. Link in my signature - Does anybody have any good links for information on The Opium Wars? My clan leader is into that era and I'd like to be able to hold a convo with him on the subject but that era is a bit of a dark hole for me. Thanks in advance

Not all clans though want competitive play. My clan Hearts of Oak for example is a clan for those interested in history naval and otherwise. Sure we have players who want competitive play, but we have others who just want to learn and/or have fun in all game modes available including PvE

This is my whole point, by pushing through the hard times by uptiering I'm not going to have fun, for others maybe it will work, The only way for me to have fun is to know how to play the game and play it well. Win or lose then it doesnt matter

Too be honest there are lots of rules in the MM. What you are suggesting would add time a player sits in the queue. WG make a point of trying to keep queue time to a minimum and therefore are reluctant to make any changes to it. Everytime somebody in WG suggests changing the MM I imagine the programmers fainting and needing some TLC

It was HMS Antrim that got me into warships. I used to live aboard as a kid and the RN used to come to the island I lived on quite often. She was the first ship I visted and I was allowed to go everywhere and I mean everywhere except for the magazines arsenal and control room. Amen to that. All I was trying to point out is for me just pushing through the hard times to the next level isn't going to make me any better. This is a game so play however we want.

It doesn't as far as I know, here is the thread you need http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/18094-matchmaker/ MM is a queue based system where you end up depends on who pressed go at or near the same time as you

Gulp. New player jumping in here. There is another way of approaching this that WG could try. I am only suggesting it as a discussion point not as a this has got to be done now thing. Dispersion works, leave it as it it. Add a new mechanic to the game that reflects a ship having to get its aim in. We select our target point and shoot. However our salvos don't go where we aim they fall long or short, RNG dependant. Next salvo gets smaller RNG modifier. Set a limit say two or three salvos to zero in. Plenty of time for a cruiser to disengage, The RNG modifier can be class specific as well if needed. Just a suggestion, what do you think?.

That's kind of what I was thinking would happen too, lol To be honest I'm keeping ships at all tiers as I progress. The clan I'm in wants to help new players progress and I quite like the fun element of low tier play, but I don't want to become a seal clubber. I keep ships I find interesting or have the most fun in. I can then choose a ship to play that suits my mood. I'm also starting to understand how different ships and their particular strengths can be used to complete mission objectives and the campaign tasks.

TaKen on board and in no way was I trying to tell people how they should play.I'm just explaining the way I as a new player see it. Of course others will have a different view and I respect that.

I did Spreadsheets in space wasn't for me in the end

Doesn't scare me at all, I love a challenge! And yes that's the way I look at it too, I'm low tier, so what, more XP for me to earn. DD's I just haven't got used too at all, all the lines play so differently. I haven't found one I want to push and grind, although IJN is looking a likely candidate at the moment I'm going to come back to DD's later, I simply have enough on my plate learning the BB and CC game play atm. I think my head would explode if I took on the DD challenge as well. Look forward to seeing you in battle too!

Thats why I didn't try and do The Hunt for Bismark campaign
-
Wow thank you. But WG need people to rush and buy the premiums to keep the cash flowing, if I'm being cynical.

No No No lol Heart of Oak

I thought I had.

Which ships have exceeded your expectations?

I have to say so far and I'm only up to T5, but Svietlana is just so much fun. I suppose it helps to have a 10pt captain in her from scenerio rewards. And before anybody says it yes I know shes T4. Also have to say Konigsberg is a revelation after Karlsruhe. -
I didn't get any lag but I did get the 'Server Overload' message a few times trying to queue for a Random battle. Wasn't it scenario change day? I think lots of people were in there and it affected the server farm.

I am no longer confused. I was. -
I'm smelling troll poo.
-
The programming code to work that out would be huge. It's possible but the resources required simply do not justify the development and running cost. Simple truth is poop happpens and friendly fire incidents did and do still occur in warfare. I understand your frustration but its just one of those things that can happen, You just have to accept that firing torps in a direction into which any of your teammates could potentially sail, no matter how stupid or insane them going to that location might seem to you, can and will happen. I've been pink three times twice in a DD and once in a cruiser. I will now never ever fire torps with anybody on my team around who could sail into them it's just not worth it. (All times were in PvE by the way).

No this is a Dali or maybe Picasso
