Its perfectly legal. It's just like commission bids at any auction house. You place your bid or range of bids ahead of the auction. When that lot comes up the highest commission bid becomes the starting point for the open bidding. What I find interesting is WG placing a starting bid of 25m on 100k coal. Is that because they think 100k coal is worth 25m silver? Could we see in future the option to top up and complete coal ship purchases using silver at the rate of 1 coal for 250 silver? It would be a very easy and efficient way to drain players excess silver if they put in place a system where as long as you had say 50 or 75% of the coal necessary for the purchase you could top it out using silver, similar to the steel conversion process.

You can only win 1 lot in each auction section, and you get your credits back if you don't win, and I don't think there are actually going to be that many auctions. The scary thing is tis is really good research for WG. We are telling them just how desperate elements of the player base are, and how much they are actually prepared to pay for things deemed rare.
-
I can't wait to see WG put up Missouri or some other ultra rare ship for gold. We all know it's coming at some point. The question really is who will be brave enough or stupid enough to actually speak publicly about how much they paid.
-
Add 2 zeros to the end of that and you will be closer to the mark
-
Wait till they put 10 Missouri's up or Ark Beta
-
No. So many players have huge credit reserves there are way more players than auction lots.

Can the playerbase really deal with CV's ignoring DD's ?
Fat_Maniac replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
We manage it in non CV games, so its not an issue. For me personally its an issue in CV games when your own CV seems hell bent on attacking DD's, whilst the red CV does what you do and goes after other targets and adds more value to the team. -
I like a nice strong mug of that with a shot of whiskey in it.

You need to drink Yorkshire tea lad, not that fancy lar de da stuff

I think the real reason WG ignore Operations is simply, they cannot effectively monetarize them.

PSA: Super battleships are the concept for Tier 11
Fat_Maniac replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
Already said it in another thread myself. This looks like the start of Tier 11 and 12. On live stream last September WG dev said T11/12 would happen when there was a big enough T10 population, with most players owning T10's. Can't wait to see what hell a T12 CV will bring. -
[Poll] If you acquired "Super Container" as 24th "Daily Reward" - what did you get?

15k Coal for me. Actually happy with that -
I really hope so too. The idea that a one click 1.2 million potential dmg per charge gimmick is 'fun and engaging' let alone balanced takes a serious amount of vodka and chemical substances to let pass.
-
I think RTS is dead for planes. Next gimmick. Player guided missiles and or torps.

If this stays and doesn't get nerfed hard, there are only 3 options available as I see it right now. 1. Play the boats with the new mechanic. 2. Don't play the tiers where this mechanic operates. 3. Don't play the game at all.

Yes The Battle of Medway. And don't the bloody Dutchies in my clan keep reminding me about it.

If it helps break the stale toxic campy meta, I'll take it. -

I'm not one to defend WG, but the dev blog clearly says .... Airstrike is a new type of armament that first appears on Dutch cruisers. Due to the fact that this is a new mechanic, both the concept of ships and the concept of armament can change significantly during testing. There is still a long way to go before these land live, I hope WG do some changes to balance airstrike better. -

I don't think it is. Look at the battle timer. There were 17:45 left on the clock, so just over 2 mins into the battle. How has he stacked all 3 charges in that time, or am I missing something ? -
If you want a captain trainer, then I'd choose which ever nation you want to grind. Personally I'd also avoid any nation/class I haven't had experience in. My personal choice would be Kii. I loved Nagato and Amagi. Kii is on my wish list as its a bit different with her torps. You say you don't think torps would be very useful. On the contrary, everyone seems to forget Kii has torps, and you can spoil some peoples day when you suddenly drop torps on them. Since you are going to invest money, select something you know you will play a lot of. You need to maximise the return on your investment and have fun.

Kots Stream just confimed T6 Repulse 281mm guns

Yes. This from the same nation that during the early days of parachute development, found a higher survival rate throwing people out of a plane bundled in a sack full of straw, rather than use a silk chute.
