What people seem to forget, is that the contributors, are only posting their very best games. So the tactic's they suggest, WILL on occasion work and give big rewards. What people don't register is that big reward is only achieved by taking a big risk. And when the average player decides to have a go, it's going to go wrong very quickly with very little or no reward. Add to that the fact that a contributor has to find something interesting and new to post and suggest, or nobody is going to watch their videos, they go for risky tactics, if it works, hey I look good and have a great video to post, if it goes wrong, hmm that 'take' goes on the cutting room floor, try again and hope it pays off so I can post it.

Bad teams: what do you do about them?
Fat_Maniac replied to Bartleby74's topic in General Discussion
Suggest the cap(s) to focus on / flank to push I find quite often that everyone is waiting for somebody to suggest a strategy to follow, once everybody is aware of what your team is trying to do, you at least have an idea of which way your team is going to go. Then you see the people that either don't want to follow everybody else, or simply ignore chat. Of course it doesn't always work, and you have a bad game. -
Which silver ship YOU have played do you consider the most OP?
Fat_Maniac replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
Orion just wrecks everything she meets, so I'd say she is OP atm Phoenix is a beast if you play her right but she is fragile. Apart from that I cant really say any silver ship is OP, they all have their strengths and weakness's. It all depends on you the player and how you use them, and matching a ship to your play style. -
WG allowing you to start your french BB grind at tier VIII
Fat_Maniac replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
I have to agree with all of this, the trend certainly in the last 3 or 4 months seems to have become lets milk our customer base for as much cash as we can. If it's purely to line the coffers of WG then it is a nail in the coffin for the game. However, it some or most of the money is to fund further game development, i.e. more content for us, and I don't just mean more premium ships to buy, then I can live with this.- 248 replies

All of these. Gneisenau is a beast if you play her to her strengths. The only time I have had problems in her is when she is bottom tier, then you just have to be careful. She has good range / good reload speed / and reasonable AA, with good speed and maneuverability. Like all the KM BB's dispersion is very frustrating, at long range. Maybe she is just not a ship for you. I hated Konig, grew to like Bayern and Love Gneisenau. I got Bismark and put her down straight away, to come back too later when I can cope with the high tier campy meta crap.

Two things .... 1 - You are honest and admitted it. 2- You recognised the mistake. That makes it ok in this instance, after all ... 'We all make mistakes' said the Darlek, as he climbed off the dustbin.

WG allowing you to start your french BB grind at tier VIII
Fat_Maniac replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Why ? ^This^ Pure and simple. It all boils down to ... the actual chance of getting the Ship Quest from a container * the depth of the player bases pockets (how many containers they want to buy) = Money in the bank for WG. I can see no other reason for it.- 248 replies

Its not just BB players. Just had a match in New York where a Svietlana was firing endless torps at a Karlsruhe. He was over 10Km from him at all times. And I checked the guys stats. He has over 1500 battles, so he isn't even a new player.

Whats wrong with carriers in Op Narai?
Fat_Maniac replied to Rooke_1704's topic in General Discussion
This is so true. Operations do seem best completed in ships with high DPM. -

First time I did the mission in Belfast I had over 20 plane kills I think, that time around I was at the front of the pack, maybe the bot planes are set to go after the lead ships, so a Gneisenau near the front would do OK. Plus the bot fighters seem to focus on spotting. -
Whats wrong with carriers in Op Narai?
Fat_Maniac replied to Rooke_1704's topic in General Discussion
There isn't really anything meaty for them to go after, apart from the CV and Hood at the end. A T7 carrier taking down a T4 Wyoming or T5 Omaha isn't going to get much XP -

You really don't need a CV on this operation. I've been farming it with Belfast. -

Why do people go the opposite from where they spawn?
Fat_Maniac replied to tappo01's topic in General Discussion
Exactly. I can understand not wanting to waste yourself in a yolo or suicide mad rush, but somebody has to take point. If find myself in that role in a CL/CA, I try to use the terrain and have some cover to run into, till support arrives, or an exit route if the team decides to melt away. That for me is really the big plus of being in a div, you know that at least some of your team are going to do, and you have at least one or two ships supporting you -

Probably the fear of being spotted first focused down and deleted -
Will we receive waves in the game or ships will behave like cars forever ?
Fat_Maniac replied to sisito0o's topic in General Discussion
DD's that can reload torpedoes in seconds - only IJN could effectively reload at sea, but it took a while. Gun accuracy where an avg hit rate is about 30%, in real life it was more like 3%. Battles lasting minutes, instead of hours. This is a game NOT a simulation. I gave up worrying about real world mechanics and accuracy months ago. -
Why do people go the opposite from where they spawn?
Fat_Maniac replied to tappo01's topic in General Discussion
I usually see this happening when the team finds the enemy has had the same idea and is heading for the same flank. Its a bit like those damned lemming trains that seem to happen a lot on Neighbors map, everybody is happy the sail the same way in a nice line (ish) until the front of the train see's the enemy and then turns, leading to a chaotic mess which resembles something like trying to watch a bunch of [edited] have sex with a door knob, whilst from the enemy perspective it becomes a turkey shoot. -
Why do people go the opposite from where they spawn?
Fat_Maniac replied to tappo01's topic in General Discussion
I have to wonder myself sometimes, especially when the other 11 players all seem to be heading in the opposite direction. I can understand it if somebody has spawned on their own and is trying to link up with some of their team, especially if there is a CV about, but when somebody puts out a A + B ? and most confirm and start heading that way, why that one special person has to go to C alone when there meets the enemy and screams for support. I really have no idea. -
Easy too do to. Add a new rule set to the MM, build balanced matches with BB, CA/CL/DD & CV(if available), then take the rest of the BB queue thats left and throw them into a 12 vs 12 BB dreadnaught battle mode. .

Wow 4 in 20 is damned bad luck. Can I ask what ship(s) you were in ? And of course there is the obvious response to this post. Use the flags you are awarded after detonating to ensure it doesn't happen to you again - until you run out of the flags, of course!

I know and hell only knows how it will be balanced, if at all
