Is "Concealment" the new "Situational Awareness"?
Fat_Maniac replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
It would make a huge difference at low tier too. No more concealment advantages for Seal clubbers -

Is "Concealment" the new "Situational Awareness"?
Fat_Maniac replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
I've thought this for a long time now. WG should just set optimal concealment values for all ships , and remove the skill completely. -
You really are not alone in this, There are so many long term game players from CBT and the early days who I know and talk too who are now sick to death of the toxicity and state of the game at higher tiers, that many have decided to take a break, or just not play as much. Several are reducing the amount of money they put into the game, and there are others that are seriously thinking of uninstalling the game altogether, or have actually done so. @Tuccy & @MrConway please take note and pass on to the appropriate people. Many experienced WoWS players are not just in need of a break at the moment, many are actually moving away from the game and taking their wallets and experience with them.

Believe me, metal can burn if you heat it enough. And in the case of the ships we play, it;s less the metal that burns, but everything else in the ship, fuel, all the fixtures and fitting, the crew, etc etc. Have a look at this picture of a ship burning.

It amazes me, that WG haven't given us any. The Steam punks would have a field day. As would I !!!!

You forgot one ... Smoke. Just look at any footage or image from a naval battle, there was much more smoke. A burning ship would produce it's own mini smoke screen. Look at Yorktown and Bismark footage.

Superstitions and Ships / Loadouts?
Fat_Maniac replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
When I go for a full XP credit, commander XP flag loadout in a T8, I'm always the only T8 in a T10 battle -
Lets see if this lands. But I bet as part of it they will 'review' the base CE values of all ships.

Not sure if I need to make myself a tinfoil hat, but here goes. I have a theory CV's after the rework are going to start at T6 Remember a while back somebody data mined the RN CV line images? Only 5 ships were found. Would fit starting at T6 The CV rework beta test, T6 and T10 only, with Ranger moved down to T6, and confirmation from WG that CV tech trees are going to be changed as part of the rework. What do you think? It kinda makes sense from a historical point of view, T5 and T6 ships were really at the start of the CV age. And it means T3 & T4's could be reworked and have the false AA they currently have removed.

CV rework - are they going to start at T6?
Fat_Maniac replied to Fat_Maniac's topic in General Discussion
They'll give him an optional pea-shooter with a limited supply of dried peas. Or if you are really lucky you might get a Spud gun with a nice firm Maris Piper -
CV rework - are they going to start at T6?
Fat_Maniac replied to Fat_Maniac's topic in General Discussion
I think part of the reason they might start at T6 also is people seal clubbing, the newbies. After all all drops seem now to require some sort of manual input, so skill and experience are going to be a factor -
CV rework - are they going to start at T6?
Fat_Maniac replied to Fat_Maniac's topic in General Discussion
But Air Sup needs fighters, and in the rework fighters are just a consumable to call into your current location, so that wouldn't work. Doesn't mean WG couldn't change that in the future, but it goes against the principles they set for the rework that CV play should be focused on strike. -
Instead of Report System, design a Honor System
Fat_Maniac replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Wut! It's called making a profit, all companies have to do it, to pay the staff and the bills. Yes WG could put in extra CPU resources after spending dev time to do all the backend required, but the devs wouldn't be able to give us content whilst they did it. And who is going to pay for the dev time AND the extra CPU resources? We are, and since this is a free to play game, they would have to increase the price we have to pay for the stuff we buy to cover something that really isn't needed. -
CV rework - are they going to start at T6?
Fat_Maniac replied to Fat_Maniac's topic in General Discussion
The rework seems centered around strike carriers, not sure escort or fleet support cv's could be done with fighters being something you call into your current location. However it might allow for the BB/CV hybrids to come into game. -

And just where are these AI calculations supposed to be performed? Do you have any clue on the logic and CPU power actually required to do what you ask? Foe every battle played analyse the actions of up to 24 individuals. If it was easy or cost effect WG would have done it already and it wouldn't be honor awarded, it would be XP and credits for team play. -
CV rework - are they going to start at T6?

That's something I hadn't even considered. Although I expect we might get a full captain and ship module reset for free. People are going to have to rework things depending on what WG finally deliver. -

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs
Fat_Maniac replied to Episparh's topic in General Discussion
Great for the DD, with no citadel. But a poor cruiser in a similar situation is guaranteed death (so no change there). However the chances of all shells from a Monty actually hitting a DD. That is some seriously lucky RNG. -
Should "This is Too Complex" still be a valid excuse?

Basically again, he is trying to say leave the RTS CV game play alone, just fix the UI -
Poll on WG points mentioned during CV rework video
Fat_Maniac replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Lets get this out here once and for all. CV's are currently broken in WoWS, In the right hands they can influence the entire map, and they have insane alpha strike potential. WG saw this but had no idea how to change it, fear factor included of *edit the current CV population. WG decided to develop the Blitz titles for consoles, and RTS CV simply isn't easy to play on a console. Maintaining 2 sets of CV gameplay and AA mechanics for PC and console version of WoWS isn't practical or cost effective. WG therefore have an economic imperative to change CV's. Hence the rework is born. Forget the RTS format It's dead, and has to go, for economic reasons. If you want to play an RTS style naval battles game, go look at the other titles out there - Navyfield, Victory at Sea etc. WoWS has to evolve and RTS CV's is not sustainable. I actually feel sorry for those good CV players who put time and effort into learning your craft, but the rework is why I have never touched CV's yet. When I started the game WG had said a rework was planned, and I decided there was no point in learning CV's when things are going to change and it's back to square one. I may as well focus my efforts on the other classes until the CV rework lands. I've only been waiting 20 mths ! -
