Jolly Roger Flag...why you do dis WeeGee???
Fat_Maniac replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
I'm afraid the Jolly Roger was removed after season 10 -
Sub_Oct in a recent video, confirmed dmg is top, but other things count as well. I think it was at the CC summit actually

And this IS NOT a bug, it's a game feature. Any HE shell no matter where it hits or shatters has the chance to start a fire. It's a game mechanic, in WoWS which is an arcade game not a simulation.

And most XP is awarded for damage. So sitting farming damage will push you towards the top of the XP earnings.

WG's ongoing process of CV balancing and the Social Justice question
Fat_Maniac replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
The thing is the on;y way to balance is to test in the live environment. It's the only place players play 'normally'. -
WG's ongoing process of CV balancing and the Social Justice question
Fat_Maniac replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
Yes but apparently when the scales of balance tipped towards AA, CV numbers drop, when it goes in favour of the CV the numbers increase. And WG have apparently said CV rework success is based on numbers playing, so balancing isn't about fair play, its about keeping enough CV players happy that they still want to play. -
WG's ongoing process of CV balancing and the Social Justice question
Fat_Maniac replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
There is no effort by WG to 'balance CV's'. The rework will be deemed a success if CV player numbers don't drop below 20%. THe CV player numbers is the deciding factor in what changes are made to CV's or AA. -
That pretty much sums up my experience in the T5 to 7's. Add to that being able to do 30K salvo's with no citadel's. These ships hit damned hard.

Get closer and use a 2ndry build BB. The ribbons are easy to get then,

Yes please more of these one day brawl events, and across more tiers. Weekly would be too much, once every 4 weeks, given we have other events including ranked and Clan Battles to fit in. @Crysantosand @MrConwayhope you both can feed back to the powers that need to know. Clan Brawl is a fantastic idea, please can we have more, other than the one session we already have planned for a couple of weeks.

ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.
Fat_Maniac replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
OK call me stupid if you like but am I missing something here. The initial rewards for regrinding a line will be Ohio and Colbert. How is this fundamentally any different from what we already have, by buying a ship for FXP? Is this not worse? We have to pay for the ship with FXP or if short regrind the line AND we also have to rebuy the ships in the line that we want to play other than Ohio or Colbert. and I assume we will have to pay gold along the way to demount the consumables we want to keep and get the 50% silver refund as we do at the moment when we sell a ship. -

@CrysantosI understand the need for a system for veteran players to have a target to aim at and something to spend their resources on. The only concern I have and which has been made more than clear in feedback, is the perceived advantage to combat effectiveness re-grinding for the rewards gives. As a solution has WG considered that along with each incremental buff a ship receives, as a consequence that ship for MM purposes is considered to have moved up a tier? So for example a Belfast with one round of buffs, gets T8 cruiser MM. With 2 rounds it gets T9, and so on. Not only do the rewards for the grind get delivered, so does the challenge you face in your upgraded ship, and everyone else gets a sporting chance against you. -

Dear players, As 0.8.5 changes have brought much needed and requested AA DPS consistency, seems like in many cases the plane losses became slightly excessive, and CV efficiency was nerfed too much. While we do like the change, we still need to keep CV efficiency reasonable. Over weekend and early next week we intend to observe the situation very closely, determine the amount of needed changes to plane HP, and implement a hotfix. Unfortunately, only live server data will help us to polish the change, preserving its core concept – more rewarding and meaningful anti-air defense. Stay tuned for more news, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Source Dev Blog

torpedo bomber heal/ adrenaline rush issue in 8.5
Fat_Maniac replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
The rework still hasn't addressed the real issue with CV's in WoWS. The game still pitches the CV players skill, against his targets luck. Skill will always when out in the end, so we see skilled CV players able to make the most of CV's, and the other class players frustrated by the lack of consistency in how to counter them. Without some mechanism that allows the non CV class to manually target and control his AA defenses on the target he chooses, it will always be luck vs skill. -

Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

The only thing that would achieve, is a forum post from the friendly torp launcher, demanding WG fix the broken Team Killer mechanic, as the friendly DM clearly stayed in his torps path on purpose -

Propose WW1 Buttle of Jutland Premium Ships
Fat_Maniac replied to Markja_'s topic in Warship Projects
Indeed ^THIS^ As T9 and 10 are where you have lower tiers and / or spend real money to support T9/10 games. -
RU shouldn'y have gotten BB's they are virtually all paper designs. But WG will give its customers what it thinks they will buy and make money for them in return.
-
In a live stream a couple of weeks back, WG all but confirmed Italian cruisers are coming soon. Lines we don't have but which could filled. RU CV's, it would be a total joke and paper designs but the RU server wants it KM CV's. Pan European Cruisers Pan European DD's Thats a lot for Europe and nothing for the rest of the world, so maybe a Pan American (non US) DD and cruiser line could be thought up. Oh and lets not forget all the CV models for USN and IJN that got removed in the rework. Wg have said they would like to bring them back, as alternate CV lines. I'm thjinking as Fleet escort carriers maybe, with some sort of player interactive fighter play

Hell yes !!! In fact warships across history. And I have the honor to lead a clan, where an interest is history is our one real entry requirement. We have lots of interesting discussions about the ships we have, and could have.

Not only is div'ing fun, you at least know what 1 or 2 of your team mates are doing, and you can coordinate your activity.
