If this is true then I am disgusted. Can someone confirm the translation?
Fat_Maniac replied to Fat_Maniac's topic in General Discussion
And as someone who is Bipolar and unable to work because of it, I am disgusted with the WG founder's remarks. Yes I know from a cultural point of view Russians look at things differently from us here in the West. But we have been loyal paying customers, just like the Russians themselves, and any successful global organisation has to be mindful, if it cares about it's customers and wants to retain them. The head of an organisation that I have supported, has disgusted me, .That comment speaks volumes about the culture and values within that organisation, and what they truly think of their customers. And this from an organisation that is sponsoring a charity event next week https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/community/children-future/ Wow just wow.- 82 replies

Fat_Maniac replied to ktarr2's topic in General Discussion
No, Even with all 3 gold boosters the maths says 59 days I think to build PR. You only have 28 days to do it, so you need to grind some directives or go deeper into your wallet -
Please don't buy the Puerto Rico
Fat_Maniac replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
@Sub_Octavian @MrConway. PR is a T10, so the realists among the player base like myself, expected the grind to be tough or the ship to cost a significant amount of real money. The real issue and it seems to be a recurring one, is that WG have failed to manage peoples expectations, again. The New Year ship build process was revealed in September I think, and we were told EVERYONE will have the opportunity to build a ship with this new and exciting feature WG are introducing. Along comes the PTS and the actual process is revealed, including the directives with test value objectives. At no point have WG said as this is a T10 ship expect the grind to be tough and only a few hardcore players will be able to get the ship just by grinding. Most of you will have to spend real money to complete the build if you want the ship. How much you have to spend depends on how far you want to grind. If from the moment PR was announced as the ship to build or the PTS test was launched you had told everyone the above, nobody would have room to complain, as you would have set realistic expectations in the minds of your players . Players are so used to getting so much free stuff from WoWS, (Thank You for it all), that they expected, unrealistically, to be able to get a T10 ship fairly easily. You are a business and need to make money to keep the game F2P, please just try to be more open about events like this in future to manage your customers expectations. A happy customer is likely to spend more with you and be happy to recommend your product to their friends.- 162 replies

WG have not put this much effort into the ship build process developed just for PR. We will get it again. -
Outrageous Mission Requirements (coming from the Na forums)
Fat_Maniac replied to Vinyl_ScratchPlays's topic in General Discussion
Thats just it isn't it though. This appears to be a cynical move. They don't want the layman to get PR by grinding, they would end up giving away far too many They want the layman to open his wallet and pay for it -

Fat_Maniac replied to Vinyl_ScratchPlays's topic in General Discussion
^THIS^ 100% is exactly the problem. I love the idea of the ship building process, and I hope we get it for other ships, and some low tier fun ships too. But the PR build is absolutely crazy, understandable it's a T10 ship after all, but an insane grind, unless you want to pay for it. WG's response is terrible. You don't have to go for it if you don't like it. They are a company providing a service, they should want everyone to go for it. Instead they are saying don't like it, don't play the game then. Given the terrible year we have had with the CV rework and the Research Bureau, this could be the final nail in the coffin for some people. -

24,000 doubloons for 'premium' Puerto Rico boosters.
Fat_Maniac replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
You also need to actually purchase the boosters with tokens or Doubloons and activate them ASAP to maximise their effect as the ship building process starts on Dec 16 automatically and finishes either on the 13th Jan with no ship or before that date if you complete the build. The whole concept seems to be get all the boosters available as soon as possible. The only question I have is if the 3 boosters for doubloons are available on release date (8.11) and someone buys them, along with the one free booster you get to start, does spending that money guarantee you the ship? I can see the mother of all poop storms if that doesn't as I can see people WILL expect spending that much cash will get them the boat. -
I think if they did post the odds nobody would buy them.

I read the list and cried. I'm never gonna get my Admiral Mak now. @MrConway, @CrysantosAdmiral Mak wasn't OP, and there are still some of us who don't have her and very much want her. Why has she been permanently removed?

Still here for anyone interested in history

That is the game hamsters telling you it's time to give up, they are tired and want to go to bed.

I'm not convinced that what a Super Container drops is entirely random. I usually go for Try your Luck Containers, and whenever I get an SC it's usually something I need. I'm a casual player so I never have masses of flags or camos. However if I start to run short, my next SC always gives me what I'm short of i.e. 50 camos or 100 standard flags. I'm one of those players who has never won a ship in a premium container or Santa crate. In fact the only ship I've ever won from a container was the Hill in a Twitch Epic Drop, right after WG switched out the ship I really wanted Admiral Mak.

You are missing the reason WG introduced the Bureau. They needed a way of convincing the players with hordes of credits and FXP, to spend them, nobody would pay millions in silver or FXP for a paint job, no matter how good it looked.

Two possible (combinable) tweaks for XP earning and teamplay improvement.
Fat_Maniac replied to Estaca_de_Bares's topic in General Discussion
I thought there was already a bonus applied to XP earned for a kill? I've long thought and said on this forum that the game rewards failure too much. I'm not convinced your suggestion would work as I think it would just promote more kill stealing. Personally, I prefer the notion of drastically reducing the amount of XP earned for a loss. Leave the credits and commander XP earned as is, so nobody goes bankrupt, and the commander has gained battle experience after all. However, since XP is about progression, and I include FXP in that, nerf those into the ground, circa 10% of what a lose gets now. It might even make sense to scale those nerfs by tier, higher in the lower tiers where you are supposed to learn from your mistakes, more forgiving at higher tiers, where what RNG and the MM throw at you can have as much impact as the players themselves.- 6 replies

What the error in Jingles bonuscode(s) yesterday painfully showed
Fat_Maniac replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
This is the crux of the orginal post. Some people simply don't because of real life, have the time to play on a regular consistent basis. They don't and will never have the chance to 'accumulate' enough of the free resource for the shiney T9, unless on their limited and valuable playing time they grind hard for the reward, focusing on the mission objectives as to just playing for fun. OK so WG offer 'containers' for purchase to speed up the process, but then you are being asked to pay for the freebie which those with nothing better to do with their time get just by playing the game, and playing a lot compared to the casual or player who has to work shifts etc. If WG extended the event duration, it would give everyone the opportunity to get all the freebies offered. The problem with that is WG's revenues would fall from the containers as fewer people would feel the need to purchase them to complete the event.
