We can blame WG for it. A lot of people, because of the time gated nature of so many directives and mission arcs, don't just play. They now play to complete the grind objectives. in the limited time they have available. Result the state of game play we have today

Not your fault at all. I don't think I've ever seen anyone from WG actually act on anything that comes out in our forum. Prague listen and comment and say they will pass it on, which I believe they do. I suspect there is a toilet somewhere with all those emails, either pasted to the walls, for lol reading, or loaded into a dispenser, for use when you have finished your business.

Exactly and for Steam users you can actually track the number of active players

The only thing that WG are going to listen too, is when the WoWS revenue stream actually starts falling. Player numbers for example don't matter. They can fall as long as everyone else pays more. They could actually save money if numbers fall by consolidating server clusters, and reducing the hardware footprint. At the end of the day it's the amount of money coming in that the CEO cares about.

And there are other titles which are stepping into that niche. An existing Russian competitor (you know the one with the Snail Logo), and new tiles in development. coming next year.

^THIS^ Until players stop just ranting and actually stop opening their wallets, WG will do nothing and carry on regardless. Which is a terrible shame, as the ideas and concepts are good, they really are. The ship building event, is a cool feature, grind as much as you want and pay the difference. Once again its the lack of communication and setting of expectations that have failed WG. They take a great feature, pass it over to the bean counters and PR departments, and the whole thing gets covered in poop. They keep telling us they have learnt and will improve next time. I've yet to see that happen.

I was amazed when I got to the T7 Frenchie Algerie. A really solid boat, and the T8 to T10 are everything I really wanted the KM CA's to be. The only French CA that really benefits from IFHE is Henry at T10. I'm still trying to get to grips with her, I can't wait for her legendary module for the extra range, my clan mates tell me that's when the fun really starts.

Exactly. But times are changing slowly. WT has ships now, and Dreadnoughts is coming in 2020 which lets you build your own boats the way you want too. They might provide some competition to the niche WoWS has held so far.

The trend in the gaming world was to make the core offering F2P or more recently and worse buy the game first but with in game purchases to boost progress or provide rare additions. Instead of paying a one off £50-60 for a game, you paid nothing and got everything. More recently you now have to buy the game and then the in game additions. Game companies quickly released that they should give the core away free as a way of reducing the barrier to that initial hurdle of getting someone to play your game but then lots of in game purchases,and loot boxes to progress or get rare content. People spending a bit here and a bit there don't realize until it''s too late just how much they had spend. We have players who have spend £1000's on WoWS. No one in there right mind would pay that from the off to play a game. And once you have invested heavily you are hardly going to walk away from that no matter what the company throws at you.

It's the sentiment of his statement, that is disgusting. WG want to give away as few PR's as possible, and so have heavily monetized the process of getting her. I get that, they are a business and need to make money, especially from a T10. But it's the way they presented the concept of the ship building process, all the hype and this is gonna be great everyone can grind for her. I feel sorry for the CC's that hyped this up. But to target only to give 1% or less of the player base the ship by grinding and then try to justify it by saying , we a being nice here. Anyone who has nowhere to go, no family to see, no life outside of WoWS, this is for you, as you will have lots of time this Christmas season to fill. Everyone else, stop whinging and pay. It's a piss poor excuse to try and polish what is turning out to be a huge smelly turd. And lets be honest WG have not had a good year, they need to be trying to build bridges with the players, not pull them down.

And that is really part of the PR disaster this is, The concept is fantastic, grind as much as you want too, pay for the rest.

I'm reminded of this, off the cuff remark, and what happened to him and his company as a result.
