    Aand here comes the lottery....

Tbf, I wouldn't mind spending some dubs from Ranked on dragon flags, but not at these rates. I mean, a bunch of flags for 100 tokens sounds fine...but my first bundle (250 dubs) only has ONE token

    Is IFHE worth it anymore?

That's something I also agree with. Fires are RNG-based, but not all that much: if you hit enough HE, you'll get your fire. What you can't really control, unless you're open to abandoning your flank in search of greener pastures, is the armor scheme of the ships in front of you: that is up to the MM, and it's way more random than fires.

    Is IFHE worth it anymore?

But why? It gives you: nothing against other DDs nothing against most cruisers (common plating values are 16, 25, 27, 30 and 50 mm, so going from 30 to 37 does nothing) a tradeoff against BBs, where it may be worth it (Alsace, Conqueror, etc.) or not really (Kremlin) I'd go for RPF instead.

    Shikishima or Incomparable?

A bit too soon to tell for me. 24 games and I've landed them on 4 separate occasions: kiting position, enemy Missouri pushing me at 11 km: I torped right next to the island in front of her, and she predictably parked right there: 2 hits later in the same game: I flanked the enemy push (Richelieu + Lepanto), did good damage with the guns but got cross-torped by their Shima. I landed 2 more torps on the Lepanto: Flesh Wound different game, got rolfstomped: I charged in and got 4 hits (Dev Strike) on a Stalingrad and narrowly denied his ram different game, another bow-in duel with a Stalingrad: landed 1 out of 4 at some range, before going down Granted, none of these really turned the game around or anything, but I could see them being more useful in Ranked, for instance. Yeah, you've got to be super-careful with that. She seems to need a tailor-made build: first I tried with a "vanilla" reload + survivability setup, now I'm going with range, super-heavy AP and more awareness, to avoid citadel damage, at the expense of fire resistance. It's feels more comfortable, but it's early to say...

    Shikishima or Incomparable?

The Shiki is much better against CVs: excellent 55% torpedo belt, as opposed to a horrible 14% good turning radius of 900 m, as opposed to an astronomical 1160 m double the long-range DPS and a lot more flak explosions the main turrets are tankier, she doesn't have torpedoes she might want to protect: she can take Aux Arm Mod 1 and have more survivable AA batteries much better range, to stay productive even if the CV forces the teams to play at range with her early spotting the air detection range is only 400 m worse than the Incomparable's. Incomparable has: much better speed, clearly comfortable turret traverse reasonably useful torps (almost the same range as her concealment) surprisingly useful hydro a superheal, so she can skip some survivability perks in favor of agility (Rudder module), damage (super-heavy AP, Furious...) and situational awareness (Priority Target, Vigilance...)

    Republique and Bourgogne

Right now, the meta is full of everyone's new steel BB, so the MM is pretty sweet for whoever can overmatch 32 mm. Give it a week, and we'll be back to the usual clown car of 2 subs, 4 DDs per team (it should get better in 11.5, but I'm not holding my breath)

    Is IFHE worth it anymore?

I've been wondering that myself. I run it on the Mogami, but basically just because I've been bullied into it on the forums It's also kind of mandatory on the Flint, I would say: without it, she only pens 21 mm, which is terrible. 26 is a lot better: enough to pen same-tier BBs, but also higher-tier cruisers, many of which have 25 mm extremities and decks. It's still short of a Baltimore, but enough to pretty much melt a Charles Martel Cleveland or Chapayev, let's say. I use the same captain on the Helena, and while she would pen higher-tier cruisers anyway, the BBs are just too important. In theory, you could try it on mid-tier DDs, as it makes them go from 21-23 to 26-28, again crossing important thresholds. Think Guépard, maybe Farragut (low fire chance, so Pyrotechnician and the flags would give you back more, in relative terms). I've never tried it, but it's an option. It's just weird that an expensive skill makes more sense at mid tiers than at high tiers...

    Republique and Bourgogne

They might not matter all that much if you keep wiggling and stay at range: I understand she plays a bit more like Conqueror, Colombo etc., and a bit less like your typical German brawler.

    Republique and Bourgogne

Watch some replays, honestly: it might be a bit time-consuming, but you don't want to get your first steel ship wrong. As you already have Petro, Kremlin and Moskva, maybe Stalingrad would be redundant in your port...or not: maybe you just enjoy that nose-in style. I've just got the Incomparable and my impression is of a squishier Georgia, with a twist of Shikishima. As you've got neither, it would certainly give you a different experience...but I'm still trying to figure out how to play her, and she's certanly tricky: maybe too difficult for you, if you don't mind me saying so. Also, the Mecklenburg looks like a nice package: the guns are very accurate and can totally smack DDs, or set a lot of permafires. The only thing is...she looks like a FdG with her turrets undergoing meiosis: kind of unoriginal. Then again, my 1st steel ship was the Shiki, so I can't judge... As for the République, she's beefier than the Bourgogne, but also far less agile (her speed boost is the usual, lame one with only 8% more speed). The guns punch harder and are more accurate, but you've got fewer and with no reload boost. They're very good against nose-in cruisers like Des Moines, which the Bourgogne can't overmatch, but against well-armored BBs you might prefer the Bourger's, which are more consistent at setting permafires.
  12. Oh I agree 100% there. My point was simply that Z-44 torps are very nasty against DDs: you can launch them early, from pretty far away, they're sneaky and still do enough dmg to cripple your counterpart.
  13. The torpedo reaction times are about the same: 7.4s for the Neustra, 7.8 for the Black, and the Z-44 in between. Obviously they get better with the speed perks, but the order is the same. Anyway, they're pretty close, so I'd priviledge the ship with the best combination of torpedo range, reload and speed (which gives the enemy less time to randomly make a turn or exit the smoke, even if he didn't see the torps coming), and that belongs to the Z-44 imho. I can't argue about the black. I've been doing ok in the Neustra, but I just don't like the ship very much. The Z-44 overperformed, so I'm a bit afraid of touching her now...
  14. It has to be said that the Z-44 would be a bit redundant then... Then again, she earns more credits and the torps have better range, so ymmv.
  15. That's true, but there's also radar, subs and planes to worry about: the heal might level a 1v1 against a superior gunboat, but in the early, stand-offish phase of the game, maybe I'd prefer having 2 km more on the torps and the reload to launch them as soon as I'm in range of the other end of the cap... The "cockroach DD" concept is fine, but lots of games are decided early, so one might prefer the fire/torpedo-power.
  16. Neustrashimy is a bit of a tease: Soviet guns? Sure, but only 4 of them Superheal? Awesome, but you won't exactly be repairing a lot of fire damage... Strong torps for a Soviet DD? Still only 10 km range at Tier 9, and with poor reload Lots of consumables? Great, but you need Superintendent because she has fewer charges stock (like the Grozovoi sub-line). Still a powerful ship, but you'll often feel you're missing that little "something"... Z-44 is a very "pure" torpedoboat: her fishes have the range and reload to oppress enemies trying to maneuver while spotted or to cap while unspotted. They don't hit hard, but hard enough to cripple DDs, and they can be fast and sneaky for low reaction time. She's got horrid firing angles and traverse for knife-fights, but she can deal decent gun damage to larger targets thanks to the improved HE pen and high AP alpha. The good thing about her is you'll never ask too much of her: she's a torpedoboat, no tricks no gimmicks. I don't have the Black, so I'll leave it to others to comment.

    How to fast-train new Commanders?

This. I mean...premium time + good camo + dragon flags is how you get 30-60k cpt or free cpt xp in a single game, but if you play premium ships frequently the credits can also help leveling up. Example: earlier today I played a game in the Kaga, T8 premium with her standard permacamo. I had the 20% credit flag, nothing for xp. good performance, but we lost: 1.5k base xp, less than 4k ship xp and cpt xp I made around 600-700k credits (would've been 500-600k without the flag), so effectively I would've gotten more free cpt xp out of that game, about 5.5k, by converting credits than from the cpt xp granted, winning would've changed that, and the dragon flags also help the xp/cpt xp more than the credits, but it's still useful Credits-for-free cpt xp is especially helpful if you're only missing a few tens of thousands of cpt xp to get a new point and a new skill (say, FP after CE, or viceversa), and you can't be bothered to play a ship with a 21-pointer.
  18. My 1st Solo Warrior, and still my best one This one also deserved a video for some predictive torps on the Conqueror, but the website minions thought otherwise...
  19. I think we're slowly discovering the second-worst use of electricity after mining for bitcoins
  20. Kind of weird of that Z-46: he committed to capping as a strategy, but then didn't reset you as you took back A... Nice job on the Kutuzov, as well!

    Ocean map balans...serious business!

Makes me thing that if WG had a space program they would try to land on the Sun...but only at night, to avoid the heat
  22. Too bad we can't see the replay My first Solo Warrior was the first replay I ever uploaded on the website: almost a double strike with 10 seconds left on the clock, and we needed both kills to go ahead on points. Good memories
  23. Exactly. I mean, it'd be fairly easy if we didn't dmgcon floodings pretty much automatically, yet here were are...
