How much money would you pay for rare ship on auction?
Aragathor replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
Which as of today is exactly 0,81€ at the exchange rate of 1₪ = 0,27€. -
New French Cruisers have been announced. Do they have any actual basis in reality? Even as blueprints or concept designs?
Aragathor replied to XDMeloniXD's topic in General Discussion
They are Dunkerque class preliminary designs. But I wouldn't count on their historicity. The T10 AFAIK is completely fictional.- 46 replies

How much money would you pay for rare ship on auction?
Aragathor replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
Enough for an XXL tub of Fisting Grease for the devs, because the way they are going at it with the player base is too rough for my taste. -
[POLL] Will you participate in "Lighthouse Auction" for Gremyashchy (10.000 Doubloons MIN) and 100K Coal (25M Credits MIN) ?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
That would be the perfect flag for Kiev, Varyag, Oleg, Krasny Krym, Sevastopol. -
We should be able to sell or buy other players' ships on auction
Aragathor replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
I fully agree and support this idea, my first action would be to sell @El2aZeR's Enterprise for AA signals. -

I already own the Gremy, but even if I didn't I wouldn't participate. Also have 365k coal in my account, so I don't need another 100k. I did put some silver down for the Moskva flag, but it's silver so I can just play a few games in the Roma/OG Misouri to get it back. -
Gremlin is not worth 5000 doubloons now. But people will empty their wallets to get a "rare" ship.

Here we go: New monetization scheme for rare ships
Aragathor replied to PeteEarthling's topic in General Discussion
In about 13h we will look at the auction, see that WG has put up 50 global lots with the ship up for 50k doubloons starting price. And then we will nod sagely, remembering that WG is as dumb as they are greedy, and forget about it. The people that will obtain the lots will not be paying customers, but CCs sitting on doubloon hoards from recruitment cash backs. Meaning WG will earn nothing but ridicule. -
You need to understand that WG in their stupidity makes midtiers bad and unfun to play to force everyone to grind up to T10. And then you have people who sped up through the tiers, to have fun instead of grinding a floating garbage can. So yes, Elbing, Colombo, Golden Loo, are all decent ships. They aren't great though, WG is too incompetent to understand that balancing around potential is a bad choice. If you don't have fun now, stop and play something else. Life's too short to waste on ships made by people who don't care about the game.

[3rd WG PSA] Asymmetric Battles update (Disabled permanently)
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Who is surprised that instead of offering some incentives to play high tiers, the tight-fisted WG management decided to pull the mode? WG would rather have players uninstall and leave then reward them for playing. Here's a re-imagined meeting at WG that decided how to deal with asymmetric battles: -
But only for FXP. Otherwise it's smart to replay lines you like to play. I just recently did a RN BB regrind. It was pure pleasure, with an added benefit of getting some captain XP for my assigned captains. I'm also in the middle of a German CA regrind and I must say I have a newfound respect for both Hipper and Roon. Wouldn't have had much fun in the IJN gunboats.

How to disable unwanted popups by the game client?
Aragathor replied to Wischmob_von_Eimer's topic in General Discussion
This is some next level aggressive panhandling. WG begging for money as if they had trouble paying bills. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Aragathor replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
When everything comes together to give you a good game. An incompetent CV, ships that stand still, good RNG. Regrinds are fun, if you play strong ships. I saw quite a lot of people complain about the Incomparable. My experience didn't compare to theirs. -
Wargaming have nerfed a protected premium ship!
Aragathor replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
Reading the Dev blog there is a part that you missed: That looks like a global change made to simplify mechanics and characteristics, and not a targeted ship nerf. Several ships were changed to adjust their acceleration. T10 CVs took a hammer to the knees, with their acceleration being slowed by 100%. No one complains about that, huh? -
Roadmap and what..... lies...... ahead.
Aragathor replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
We already have that, with T9 ships being sold in the shop for over 60€, so that's a rather flat argument. Especially since we aren't getting much for that kind of money. -

Aragathor replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
No, it's neither greed nor stupidity. It's WG's inability to learn from best practice market leaders and their customer base reaction to it. Because WG monetization policy is trash. If you look at market leaders like League of Legends, you will see a working F2P model with revenue from cosmetics only. In the ship section, you have Azur Lane making bank with a gacha system that is praised by its player base. Because the AL devs know the players, so when a player gets a rare ship they most likely will also buy a cash shop only skin. And in the corner you see WG trying to strangle the last cent out of their player base by giving less and less in a game bloated with currencies and events that are incompatible with each other. The only thing saving WoWS from going under like WoWP is that there is no competition in the arcade ship section. -
Too many limited hours events at once. Asymmetric, Brawls, and ranked are not available for massive chunks of the day.
Aragathor replied to FearlessFinn's topic in General Discussion
This. I found that what WG offers is mostly cr@p rewards wise. Some things might be fun to play. But I stopped bothering with brawls for example. No point in playing them. I do ranked bronze for steel only. But there are some single player games I have fun in right now. -

Aragathor replied to FearlessFinn's topic in General Discussion
Simple, it's Fear Of Missing Out all the way. That's how gaming companies keep people playing, not by making the experience better, but by making the players fear they will miss out on a reward. And the problem is, it's not multiplayer games anymore, almost everyone does it. -

Aragathor replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
I think that's the idea. To make high tier unsustainable for F2P players. Oh, people will still race to T10, after all nothing has been said by WG about not focusing everything on T10 anymore. But T10 will be pay to play. -

Yeah, they started last year. -

Don't worry, they will have to row back when they go there. After people start uninstalling en masse and newbs start quitting after hitting T8. WG is so blind in its greed it doesn't recognize their products are for a very niche market. But hey, at least warplanes got NFTs! No one cares. -
How do you show your contempt to your customers while maintaining a polite lie that you care? You make sure those people cannot attend. So that they can deny Polish players their own line? The economic changes will punish people who have paid cash, instead they will introduce "new" mechanics that can be bought. WG will keep moving the goalposts to the detriment of the community. Tha t is sure.

That is a welcome commitment, for those of us who like playing coop but dislike being excluded. I remain hopeful that it will evolve into a positive change in the future.
-
That's most likely a simple engine limitation. Creating a smoke column that is non-dispersing would require too many changes to be feasible.

I doubt that the ART team has any geology majors. I don't see the point of nitpicking the type of lava on a really nice looking map feature.
