I find it very interesting that i can't find that news piece anymore.

It's not bad per se. Some of the camos applied to planes look great. But for example historical perma camos should have historical planes instead of applying the camo to the planes. But as always, no one at WG really thought about that.

And some cats are still defending it as a good design here in the forum.

The CV camo thing works so well, the only way to see the historical camo of all planes is to not select a camo at all. And no one thought about a toggle button for it. One step forward, faceplant back.

I really like this idea. Right now most planes look bad with perma camos. Especially the German CVs with the Iron Cross camo, they look like circus planes.

Have you missed the part where people said it doesn't work? I have opened a support ticket for this issue some time back. Got blamed for the error by CS and the ticket was closed.

It's not the name, if it was just the name they would have picked a new one. Like Vorkuta or Kolyma. They have no idea how to balance the box'o'gimmicks.

And what would that bring, beside the fact that the typical English auction isn't useful for single item, multiple lots, auctions? There is no need to explain further, than to mention that the type of auction isn't wrong. Right, because WG as an actor has an incentive to stiff people on their winnings. This auction is one of the more honest things they did. The only thing they could publish to make it more clearer would be the lowest winning bid. But people have already stepped in on reddit and after every auction there are pretty good estimates how much the items went for. Also, I'm not on friendly terms with WG, but I never had any issues with my bids or wins/losses. I always knew much silver went into the bid and I never suspected any shenanigans.

I'm surprised they didn't bother to add T6 boxes, a lot of good boats there to get.

And like many other forgotten premiums, it could use a small buff to improve it. Bingo. RNG this way or another, but the boxes offer players ships they don't necessarily want to drop on Christmas. Only pity is that there will be no T6 box in the armory.

Have you? Serious question. I have a professional experience with auctions, and I don't mean eBay (although there as a professional seller). So I can say WG is not doing it wrong. The various auction types currently in existence, and some historical ones that went out of style, are a fascinating subject. To start, look into the Lloyds auction by the candle. What WG is running in WoWS, is a sealed bid auction with a reserve price. It's common for items with a market price the seller doesn't want to disclose publicly.

Minimum bid, so that's 32€. Standard price for a T7 premium BB. But we might push up much higher, over the reasonable price. And let's not forget, there are only 900 lots to be had globally.

If it was just a simple trade at stated price then maybe. But the auction? Nah, it will most likely go for 300k coal and up, which is way too much in my opinion.

Because they are a failed experiment that was bungled by complete hacks, as most of the unique upgrades make no sense or are straight downgrades of the ship in question. There are very few interesting unique upgrades, and even those were nerfed this way or the other, just look at Zao and Khabarovsk.
