  1. Indeed, but that's the thing, timing and callouts aren't a big part of the game right now. In a random battle with randoms you get a lot of people who just do their own thing instead of working together. BTW both our Svyatozars topped the list.
  2. Just received the Benson and the Kagero skins from the Operations pumpkins. Still no Bismarck and Charles Martell, which is funny because those are the only camos I'm missing. But maybe I'll buy some more pumpkins.
  3. Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks for the five stars.
  4. Now that's the next level of trolling. I like it.
  5. And what valid reason would they have to treat one group of customers worse then another? Especially since in case of EU that group of customers is the one spending most money? Yeah, it's called bad business practice.
  6. I just played a game in which 16km citadels with AP kept popping up. Best one was an angled Chapayev losing 1/3 of his health while running away. But the RoF sucks with only 8 rifles.
  7. Then let me explain. WG has a the only warships game on the market, but there are many other entertainment options available. So they do not have a monopoly on entertainment. They cannot charge an arm and a leg for their product, because then people will just switch to other games. And that's a huge limit. But by dividing up their customer base they can charge a bit extra here, refuse to sell there, create artificial scarcity on one server, give some better offers to only one group. This way they can gouge the prices while appearing to cater to distinct markets. And when people call them out, they can say "that's a regional limitation created as a response to a regional need". No, it's just called discrimination. And it's a really bad way of treating people or animals. And it is a very valid reason not to pay for content. Which is bad for business.
  8. If you don't know why, then it's probably because of money. Segregated communities can be easily taken advantage of, by price gouging, denial of offers etc. By keeping communities separated, a company can give better deals one place and mistreat customers elsewhere. Of course this can lead to one of the communities dying, which if not compensated can spell doom to the product.

Mikasa, give it protected MM WG!

Yes, with that change plus the fact that they will improve the reload to 13s they will make the premium cruiser actually worse than a silver ship one tier lower. The Kirov will have the same guns, only a 1s worse reload, but in return he will have t5 MM and better AA. What's the point of the Molotov then you ask? There is none anymore.

Saving Transylvania - looking for players

It is available until the 09.11. I think, for divisions of 5-7 people. This way you can still get the rewards if you missed out.
  11. I got the Blade from the Operation, so I have all the Saving Transylvania skins. But I'm not a CV player and I don't have a Tirpitz, so that's 3 skins I'll probably never use. I think it's a matter of perspective, as I was banking on getting some doubles. Though to be honest if I ever get a Tirpitz, I will use the skin on her, as it does look awesome. And I'm really happy with the fact that I got lucky with the skins, as I really wanted the Igor and getting the Svyatozar for the Chapayev was also nice.

Low Victory rate? Here's a reason

The formatting... I disagree, it is possible to nudge the team into winning or at least prevent the enemy from achieving superiority. Depending on your class you can cause havoc among your preferred target types. If you sit in a DD you can make the enemy lose a DD in cap and abandon a push. A cruiser can do the same or engage enemy cruisers forcing them to back away. A BB can prevent enemy cruisers from attacking DDs or even force enemy BBs to turn away. A CV can force the enemy team to clump together out of fear. If you can recognize what the enemy is doing and counter that then you can win.

  14. Broke my own decision and bought some pumpkins after watching the NoZoup vid. 15 pumpkins gave me: -2x20k fXP -Camos for St. Louis (Yay), Nassau, Chapayev, Tirpitz, Lexington, Shokaku -75x Sierra Mike and India Delta -Some halloween camos Not going to buy more, but had hoped for doubles, or at least for ships I'm using like the Bismarck. But at least I have the skin I most wanted, Igor.
  15. I know the gun, yes it makes little sense and a fictional 1920s gun would have been better. I'm not arguing against the 203, which would have been the best choice. I'm arguing for a reasonable change, because WG is surely not going to rework the whole ship.

Saving Transylvania - looking for players

I think you've misread. We were playing the first Halloween mission, not the second one. The one where you have to go towards the pretty gate and there are no CVs.

Saving Transylvania - looking for players

And let's not forget that we had to play it only twice to get to 5 stars. I'll see myself out...
  18. The only thing the Yorck needs is an upgrade to the AP parallel to the HE upgrade. With better drag the AP would become workable.

Saving Transylvania - looking for players

I'd love to later on today (have to do a few things first). We need 7 people to run it though, hit me up at 17:00 (Berlin time). I'll ask my clanmates too.
  20. Well first, Hipper is not Yorck, its AP works at long range too. Second, it has a decent HE penetration, which means fewer shatters. As to Mogami's HE alpha and fire chance, well it's the strong point of the line, compensated albeit less and less, by bad AA. Third, NO has also drawbacks, like shorter range, paper armor, no torps. I'm also certain that if WG ever considers buffing the Hipper they won't go too far.
  21. There's the problem, increasing it too much would be overkill. 12s reload gives the Hipper 40 shells per minute, same as the much more slower firing Mogami 203mm. 11s would give it 43,64 s/m, which almost reaches NO's RoF. That would already be too much, as the Hipper is better armored than the NO. 10s would be overkill with 48 s/m, as Hipper would then become a rapid firing long range monster with few weaknesses. With such a reload the Hipper would be the go to ship for solo carry games.
  22. First game of the day, nothing special. But I was really happy about how the team worked together, especially a Fiji player who left huge smokes that I could hide in. Honorable mentions, as I have no pic to go with it, a Belfast game today against a really good CV player in a Kaga. We had a guy in a strike Ranger who got promptly deleted. We won, with the last message sent to reds being "gg u tried".
  23. I have no problem in playing average ships, in fact I'd rather have a solid performing average ship with few weaknesses than a gimmicky glass cannon. At tier there are already enough ships with special traits, that having a ship that is just a cruiser is already a gimmick too. BTW Prinz Eugen should be made more distinct from the Hipper. But not too much, as I'm planning on buying her when she's on sale. EDIT Just for a lark I made a broadside comparison, to see how many shots per minute can you get out of every cruiser at tier 8. The list below assumes a fully upgraded ship which fires all guns at once with a normal reload speed: Admiral Hipper (203mm) - 36,96 shells/minute New Orleans (203mm) - 45 s/m Charles Martell (203mm) - 54 s/m Atago (203mm) - 37,5 s/m Mogami (203mm) - 40 s/m Mogami (155mm) - 90 s/m Edinburgh (152mm) - 96 s/m Chapayev (152mm) - 90 s/m Kutuzov (152mm) - 90 s/m We can see that Hipper is at the bottom of the list, with Atago close by. Atago however has better concealment and torps, so it can stealth torp and ambush people with a high alpha broadside of 10 guns. Everyone else can pump several shells more, with the Martell firing a whooping 17,04 more shells per minute than the Hipper. And while the light cruisers are evenly matched, the RoF of heavy cruisers is out of whack. Upgrading the Hipper's RoF by one second would give it a RoF of 40 s/m, equal to the Mogami's 203mm guns but still lower than New Orleans and Charles Martell.

    Question about premium smoke cruisers

I wanted to link the vid here. Just as a side note, I bought the Kutuzov before it was pulled and I'm not going to sell it. This ship is awesome, even without smoke.
