Prinz Eugen aka Hipper and WG attitude towards her
Aragathor replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
I don't disagree with you. but we know that WG has been ignoring the issue for a long time, and one of the reasons could be the crazy ideas put forward by players on how to buff the ship. That isn't going to happen. What might happen is a small buff, which might improve the situation a bit, especially since a 12s reload would be historically accurate. If enough voices are raised we might get it. But going forward with ideas like 10s reload or tier 9 module will get us nowhere. And what I would like to know is whether @Kandlyor @Tuccy can step forward and say if a buff is considered by WG, based on the bad stats. I would like to stand up and say that while Hipper and Eugen have the same problems, their issues are separate. Hipper can get by with a small buff, after all it's a silver ship and if you don't like it you can push forward to the Roon. Prinz Eugen however is the worst tier 8 premium, not only because of the horrible stats but also because it offers nothing to the player beside a +50% commander XP boost. For a ship with a fascinating history it has no identity in the game, ships like the Indianapolis or Krasny Krym have a better presence than her. There is no reason to drop 40€ for a ship, if you can just buy the Hipper with silver and add a permanent camo on it. PS: Interestingly enough New Orleans, the ship sandwiched between Hipper and Eugen at the bottom of the stats is getting downtiered with the USN cruiser split.- 117 replies

Prinz Eugen aka Hipper and WG attitude towards her
Aragathor replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
There's a topic in the cruiser section about the Hipper/Eugen. I have posted there some calculations about the RoF of the ship compared to others: In my opinion both ships do not need a large buff, rather they both need only a small reload improvement not larger than 2s.- 117 replies

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Aragathor replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
I love this map. In domination you can always bank on some tool parking in the entrance to a cap zone. One spread of torps and he's history. -
If so then they need to kick the person responsible for this out ASAP. Here's why: -These flags don't do anything. There is no prestige attached to them. In fact the flags with the most status can be had for free. -The flags are mostly invisible to other players. In the heat of the battle other players don't look at the flag you hoisted, they look at your guns and smokestack. -Locking them behind a hard paywall means a loss of sales. A separate package for the flag alone would bring in sales, as those who bought the ship outside of the promotion duration might be enticed to spend extra to get the flag.

Impossible can be possible (...or never seen before)
Aragathor replied to Max_Kammerer's topic in General Discussion
Nope, the way that Furutaka is positioned looks like he was waiting for a dumbo to go middle. Probably experienced it with bots before and thought he could use his C hull to good effect. But he did get a brown pants moment for sure. -
There is a bundle for the Blyskawica with the Naval Jack flag. But I won't be buying it as dropping 50€ for a flag is ridiculous. Would have been interested if the offered it as a standalone item to owners.

I do not own the d'Aosta, but I own the De Grasse. I must say that I really like it, especially since it is an improved La Galissonniere (the main reason why I bought it). But even so, you need to like the play style of the FR cruisers to really like the ship.

Then you might want to wait for the British destroyers. Because if Gallant is an indicator they will all have single shot capability. One tube reload however is too complicated.

If you want to argue that the line is fine use silver ships as examples, not a premium that was pulled from the shop for being OP and a reward ship that is better than the equivalent silver line ship at tier. The IJN destroyers aren't fine, they are right now high RNG/low Reward line, and that's a bad thing. Lowering the detection rate of the torps might be a way to do it, as it gives the enemy less time to react.

Same. I find it disappointing that WG has decided to limit those flags to highly priced bundles. But i'm always on the lookout for new ones to add.

Two reasons actually. First, people wouldn't play during the holidays. While a certain percentage of players is single and avoids family events, a lot of the players have families and sitting before a computer during Christmas is not something they'd do. Second, WG will most likely have a series of holiday events or a campaign. Running such events parallel to organized play would divide the community.

If you like the NM then you'd love Arizona, as its guns are more accurate.
-
If gun accuracy is the main point you are looking for, then you can go here: That topic has all the important data you need to see which ships are similar to the Warspite when it comes to accuracy. From my personal experience Colorado and Giulio Cesare have good accuracy. Not as good as Warspite though. Nelson on the other hand feels more derpy than accurate.

Matches you just don't get to contribute in.
Aragathor replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
If the bots played a bit smarter and less predictable I would be playing PvE constantly. Because let's face it, many of the bots are better than some of the human players we meet. -

Aragathor replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
Yes. There are many instances where one side just folds so quickly the game barely registers for some players. Had one today, 8 minutes in and we were done. I managed to do s0ome paltry damage and this was it for a daily win. Such games frustrate players too, as they aren't fun because just winning quickly means nothing. -

Aragathor replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
WG has shown no interest in removing situations in which the player has no chance to contribute. Detonations and bad MM are an example of this, the system created by WG is designed to frustrate you to the point where you buy premium, flags, ships, to get an edge. They are not interested in the fact that such game design might cause older more mature players to leave the game for something more relaxing. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Aragathor replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Those are really small numbers. I guess people got wind how the changes won't affect those ships too much. Oh well, got all three in port. -
Surely MM should take Rank into Account?!
Aragathor replied to Sicknote1's topic in General Discussion
The display of ranks from the last season should have been disabled long ago. Ranked is over and the ranks mean nothing. -
+1 I think putting the T(orpedoboat)-61 at tier 7 would be a good idea. Maas as the destroyer and T-61 as the torpedo boat.
-
Source? Removing the Blys would make no sense at all. The ship is good if you are willing to grind a 10p captain.

The change was presented as a Quality of Life change. I have tested it to see whether it makes RN CLs easier to utilize. It does, as the longer active time on the smoke generator prevents the ships from gliding out of their smoke. Making all ship lines accessible to all players should be a goal of WG. And this change will help players to properly use the RN CLs to their full potential. The effectiveness of unicums in divisions won't be impacted, as they already adapted to all the smoke changes. And frankly, the game doesn't need to be balanced around them. Your argument that this line should be hard to play is invalid, as WG has nerfed them very hard through the new smoke detection rules. Also the failure of WG to educate new and bad players, by not having any ingame information about ship lines and mechanics, is almost criminal or at least very disappointing. But since WG doesn't plan on properly educating new players, we should at least accept their attempts to help new players out. I don't see the need to debate you, as this is a WG patch feedback thread. I have informed them about my subjective opinion about RN CL smoke duration change. You can do the same. But I am in no way required to spend my time trying to discuss it with you. I'd rather play the game.

I have a similar problem, installed the v2 ribbons but the ribbons displayed do not match the damage type.

Aragathor replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
A nice first battle of the day kraken. Please ignore the icons, it's a bug in a mod I'm using. -
It would have made the ship better than the Molotov, a premium ship one tier higher.
-
Yes, let's make this game playable only by a self-defined elite of people, who can devote excessive amounts of time to master overly complicated mechanics. Instead of, you know, making it accessible to an average player who might play only a few games every week. I don't buy your argument. The change is good, but doesn't compensate for the smoke detection.
