In the last two weeks there were missions chains that rewarded people who finished them: -15x +100% XP for wins in Pan-Asian DD. -129K commander XP added to a Pan-Asian DD captain after winning 5 games. Both rewards can only be claimed until the end of December.

If you have the commander XP mission, you may want to play enough games to get the 5 wins necessary to get the 129K commander XP. Because that's a lot of commander XP.

Those are three different ships, I'm looking for people's experience of them and whether they are viable commander trainers. Not every premium is a good commander trainer, in case of the IJN just look at the Ishizuchi, which at t4 just doesn't earn enough XP per battle.

And the moment they do this someone will call them out. These 2 campaigns will go through the supertest soon, when they go live people will be looking extra hard to spot discrepancies. Besides what reason would WG have now to change a campaign, on purpose, for one server? Just to screw with us? They ain't the Grinch.

The Duke of York campaign will reward special "Arctic" premium skins to Scharnhorst and DoY owners. Whether Belfast owners will get anything is still open. Finishing tasks will provide the players with rewards, if similar to the Bismarck campaign it will be containers with special flags and parts of the DoY collection. The New Years 2018 campaign will reward "Snow Clad" premium skins to several T6 ships like the New Mexico, La Galissonniere, Ernst Gaede, Queen Elizabeth and Fu Shun. The Christmas Convoy fiasco won't happen again, because if you haven't noticed the events between EU, USA, and ASIA, have been unified. Everyone is getting the same events, same mission rewards, only the shop items still differ. And if you don't believe me, you can ask @MrFingers.

Do you know what the WoT calendar is? A way to pressure people into buying stuff with 24h limited time offers. What do we get? There are two upcoming campaigns for Christmas which will offer free ingame stuff, with several premium camos handed out for playing the game. I'd rather have that, than a limited time offer on a premium ship.

And that's a problem at low tiers like 2-3-4, because most ships the torps can hit react very sluggish. This means that a fast charging PADD can cripple or sink those ships with impunity. This would be the case, if the line wasn't dead on arrival on the Asian server. The number of games remains low, while the community is more interested in the USN CV changes. Or in the words of @Rwasknum from the Asia server commenting on the lack of interest:

The report system isn't there to ban people who aren't playing or disrupt the game. It is there so that frustrated people can let off steam. The reports do nothing save lower karma. Also the system gives WG an excuse not to do anything when people act like complete d-bags. The system works as intended.

Today I got rid of the Shiratsuyu, which after the nerf didn't offer anything to me compared with the Akatsuki. Instead, I got the Akizuki. That bote is fun. Also, i used the weekend special to grind the Colorado. Replaced it with the North Carolina earlier today.

Weaker guns? Only if you look at the things you can easily see like reload and AP damage, there Arizona is minimally weaker. The better sigma compensates for it in spades. The 0,3 difference is huge.

No one asked for this change. Why it has been implemented is beyond me. @Senjougaharais right claiming the slots are all over the place.

I am extremely disappointed by the fact that new captains have not been implemented for the line. Even though their images are in the files, they are blocked. I don't see how images of captains in uniform, without any text or flags, can be offensive to anyone. The fact that WG has determined that the only captains players can get are generic Chinese, shows that very little thought or care has been put into what players want. Balance wise this line is unspectacular. At low tiers the deep water torpedoes are too powerful, as most players cannot react to them. At higher tiers (Tier V+) the ships are a joke, as other DDs can counter them easily. The fact that you/WG claimed that the smoke meta was bad for the game, makes it look ridiculous that now you have introduced a line which can stay in smoke for long periods of time. The smoke change was nothing more than an excuse to nerf RN CLs. As the line offers only gimmicks and no history behind it I do not see the point of those ships.

Agreed, the sidebar shouldn't reduce the space of the forum. I don't know who thought this would be a good idea, as it is an uneconomical use of space.

Yeah, in my opinion some of those boosts are worth more than the +100%xp for the first win. This weekend I'm grinding the Colorado and fXP. Hitting 3 citadels in a battle add +20% XP when playing a BB. With the right flags I get 5k fXP per battle. Also silver USN BBs are discounted for the weekend. That's a lot of extra bang for my buck.

It is a bug, there's a workaround that works for some. Go to your World_of_Warships folder, go to res, go to banks and delete everything save the mod.xml file. WG has not stated whether this bug will be fixed and how long we will have to wait for a fix. Assume they'll fix it in a year.

And the WoWS balance team, you forgot to mention them.

Which nation? Because you have to recognize that different lines have different strengths and needs. For example RN CLs profit from Smoke Screen Expert and Superintendent, while Russian cruisers are better off going for Demolition Expert and Inertia Fuse. There is no one stop skill configuration for cruisers like there is for DDs, you can't just always go for the same set and expect it to work.

Colorado is a PoS. The only decent game I had today and my reward was getting reported by cowards hiding behind spawn and an enemy Nagato who thought islands cannot be fired over.

The sigma nerf to the Colorado B hull was completely unnecessary. The ship is already the worst performing tier 7 BB and with a lower sigma value it will deal even less damage. Compared to other USN BBs it is still one of the worst, if not the worst.

Tried the operation in my Scharnhorst. The results were exceptional thanks to a massive division from the Zockerstube clan. Even so I ended up top of the list thanks to my aggressive approach towards DDs.

Orion has an insane HE potential for it's tier. It can one shot cruisers and destroyers with one HE salvo. Scoring citadels with HE is easy with the Orion. It also has protected MM, so it can't meet CVs that could easily kill it. I had a game in my Okhotnik recently where I got spotted and an Orion one-shot killed me with HE. And it wasn't a detonation.

While we're at hoping that WG does something about balance, why not also add "nerf Orion" to the list? It's not like WG cares about our feedback on the issue. They have been ignoring the problems from day 1.

There is no Harekaze without the Anime. There was no IJN destroyer of the Kagero class called Harekaze.
