Spee needs a 19p captain to really shine, even a 10p captain is not enough to cover every base.

Scharnhorst rewards careful aiming, a 9 gun broadside into a BBs superstructure every 20s is an equal to other ship's broadsides at tier. Graf Spee is a different beast, she rewards knowing when to use all of her consumables and weapons. A good player in a Spee is a nightmare to the enemy, as he can heal, wreck cruisers, ambush BBs with great torps (the angles are incredible), and the weakness against DDs can be mitigated with secondaries and hydro. But an average player will have a bad time in this ship. PS: At tier 6 the Graf Spee is the best cruiser by win rate and avg. damage.

We are all hoping that the ship will get the same treatment as the Aigle, which is still being balanced out. But since it's just a bad Kagero clone it might get pushed out as is, since it doesn't require extra work.

It sounds better than what we are getting, a bad premium not worth the probable ~30€ price tag. I mean seriously, why would I shell out hard cash for a ship that stat wise is worse than a silver ship?

Agreed. It's sad, especially since they could've done better. But WG doesn't care about this line and how it gets nerfed time and time again. Cossack can almost sneak up on TV IJN DDs and that's scary AF.

30 minutes from opening a topic and getting banned. Must be some kind of record. But to address a point, WG doesn't need advocates for its business model. WoWS is a free to play game and no one is forcing anyone to pay, compared for example with EA. We as players and oftentimes customers can put pressure on WG to balance things, but let's not think that they will harm their profits because we want things to change.

Wargaming is a business, a business runs on profit, any action that diminishes profit is a bad decision for a business. Keeping people from advancing would diminish profit, as WG is getting money from potatoes that do not make any profit past TVI.

From the 3 newly announced DDs the IJN one falls flat, there's not even any controversy. It's just a slightly different copy of the Kagero, even though the Asashio-class was a separate class from the Kagero-class. But that's WG for you, IJN DDs get treated like redheaded stepchildren. Instead of that ship it will be better to wait for the second Haifuri event and buy the Harekaze, and then you have 3 gun layouts to choose from while still playing Kagero. Instead of a meh TVIII the IJN could use a TVII, since TVI is already filled with Shinonome.

First two SCs from the Yamamoto campaign, the contents were incredibly meh.

That's a trait the line has, the ships have a tendency to stop very slowly. Before the smoke changes, many RN drivers popped smoke and stopped just outside of it. With the smoke detection nerf WG had to do something to prevent the line from becoming completely unplayable.

A hard pass from me too. Even the Monaghan looks more interesting than the Cossack, and that's a C-hull Farragut. This ship just doesn't tickle my fancy.

First of all the Winter Mystery mission is not a Christmas mission but a parallel mission to the Steam mission. Sub_Octavian has stated that the mission is there to give the non-steam users the same rewards. The River Plate events all end on Monday the 18th and there are no more missions this month after them. So all points towards Monday the 18th as the start of the Christmas events.

Are we looking at the same ship? Because the Cossack will powercreep ships like the Gallant and the Blyskawica. There no single DD line that improves its concealment between tiers 6 and 7. Even if we argue that both the Cossack and the Gallant are premiums the problem remains. The Gallant will be out spotted. What's worse Cossack will be able to sneak up on other DDs and shred them with its superior firepower, ships like the Mahan will be hard pressed when faced with a premium that has a 1,3km spotting advantage and can dictate the engagement rules. This ship will also put Blyskawica farther into the shadow, since it has better RoF and Concealment, with only the Torp reload being better on the Blys.

Judging by the Gallant it will have single shot torps with standard consumables. To be perfectly honest having a Tribal in its 3x2 configuration makes no sense, especially as a premium. Assuming the N-Class will be the TVII silver UK DD, it will have no special characteristics. Then there's the fact that the ship has better DPM than the Blyska, with only the velocity being worse. It also has better concealment than the Gallant which is hands down stupid, as the Tribals were larger than the G-Class (16.5m longer). In short WG is running full steam against the wall again with a bad premium.

You're right, TVIII would be a bad place. But then almost every tier has its problems, innit? In the end giving people rentals is a s bad as keeping people from playing by setting a high tier access limit. Next CW should be T2 with no premiums.

Same, but for a different reason. Giving people TX rentals is a dumb idea, CWs should have been TVIII, instead you have people who never played the ships in question try to make best use of them.

I hope they don't, I have until Friday to get most of the grind done, because come next weekend I'll be ears deep in family events. And forcing myself to grind between Christmas and New Year's is not something I'm going to do.
