Neptune got a massive nerf with the smoke detection changes. But on the same tier you have the Baltimore, which will be dropped a tier, Ibuki which from what I heard is terrible and offers no improvement to the Mogami, and the Dimitr Donskoi, a ship with the detection radius of a BB. I have not seen or heard anything about the Saint Louis. To be perfectly honest I'm not warming up to the Roon. I'm grinding it to get to the Hindenburg, but contrary to the Hipper there is just no reason for me to keep the ship in port.
-
Congratulations to the winners. After seeing that I didn't win I decided to buy the Roma, just because it's the end of the month and I had spare money. But it's not in the shop, in fact there's nothing of interest to me in the shop. No premium ships I might buy, no packages. Good job removing all those premiums from sale.
-
Sorry about that, I hope they bring the ship back. It's not only a great premium but also a piece of important history.
-
The results will be, like every previous contest of this kind, posted here on the forum or on the page. I think they said on reddit that it may take a week or so. So patience.

Repair cost? Service cost? Consumable cost? I have a Missouri!

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Aragathor replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
The S_O post from the Russian forum shows that WG is really frustrated by the CVs in the game. It will be interesting to see how they will tackle this. It also makes the removal of the premium CVs understandable. The MM changes are great, seeing as they decided to tackle class balance. Maybe we will be saved from seeing battles in which one side has all the radar cruisers... -
Remember, some of us here have between 500-1000 of each normal flag. With 3x3 signals from crates each day the surplus never ends. So good luck draining flags from people like me. PS: This weekend was great for using flags & camos, +200% xp for first win makes grinding easy.

You do know that these stats are the stock Cleveland stats?
-
1 - if that captain goes on the Akizuki later on, then no, don't use the TA. 2 - a good DD player will work wonders with TRB. I have played the Shira with smoke, as I'm quite average. While the torp reload is slow, you will benefit more from the increased security offered by the smoke. The best advice I can give you is to power through the Shira, as this ship is inferior to the Akatsuki. When playing, avoid contact at any cost. Being spotted will kill you, as the ship is quite clumsy.
-
That should have been the first FB entry before all the stats. A heads up that the stats are not final etc. I find it very surprising that WG makes similar mistakes time and time again. And then has to play damage control because of it. Not if you see disclaimers saying "stats were corrected accordingly". The fact that the stats were the test baseline was never clearly communicated until the post quoted by @darkstar73.
-
That's because the JohnWayne is just like the Emerald, there to punish you before you can play the good ships. It's there to discourage everyone but the most determined players. It's there to force open your wallet through frustration, so that you spend coin on dubloons in order to free XP your suffering behind to Fushun. So suffer the JohnWayne or quit the line.
-
There are two ways of looking at these stats. The first, is that these are the base stats that will be used to gauge which stats need to be improved to make the ship viable at T8. They will go through at least one, probably more, rounds of testing, and are not final. The second, is that these are the final stats and the ship will be fighting T10 ships with them. Which will make the ship a free XP target. The fact that these exact stats are being used, makes me wonder how little work has been done on the split by WG up until now.

Then why post stats at all? They could have just dropped a lineup with the test names, put up some gung ho text about "New testing ships on the horizon! Action stations! Gib money!". Instead they are, rightly so, catching flak for saying things like "stats were corrected accordingly" and posting ships that are a copy/paste with microscopic changes. If that's how they understand marketing then they should be fired, for generating negative hype. If I had to post those stats I would be writing things like "preliminary, first stage, alpha version" and going out of my way to make sure that everyone and his dog sees that these ships will change. -
Do you use "Vigilance" Captain skill on your ships?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I use it mostly on mid tier BBs and Cruisers specced for AA. -
Most played ships by Rank 1 players

You can go to https://wows-numbers.com/ships/ and look it up. But it's for all players, not only rank 1. -

Sometimes everything goes right, it's a nice Saturday, you are driving your boat, the team is winning. And then in comes that a$$hat in an OP premium, kills your teammates and carries the game. Sometimes, that guy is me. -
Let's hope the testers can point out any glaring problems with the ship and have WG react to it before splitting the line on the main server. Right now I don't really see the new NO as any better than the old Pensacola, in fact the ship looks clumsier.
-
To gauge the amount of outrage among the dedicated players. This way WG can see how little effort they need to invest into pushing a meh ship out into the shop. If they need to change anything they can still gimmick the ship to death, like they did with the Cossack or Asashio.

Why the gameplay dies on Tier V?
Aragathor replied to AnyadbaMindenNevFoglalt's topic in General Discussion
I believe the OP is right now constantly triggered when starting the game. But he could do with some advice, especially since most of what he wrote is just what new players experience when changing to mid tier. -

Why didn't you let me keep the hyperbole? Why did you drag realism and facts into my highly didactic post? You're not fun and I'm offended. Bad pony, no sugar lumps. -
Why the gameplay dies on Tier V?

You mentioned playing DDs, have you noticed that around T5-T6 most lines change their gameplay? For example Russian DDs go from the Imperial Izyaslav to Soviet Podvoisky, and change from multi-gun cap contender to flanking harasser. This requires adaptation from the player, especially since things that worked at T4 stop working higher up. Almost every DD line switches like this at those tiers, often gaining massive improvements in one category like the T6 Gaede getting Hydroacustic Search. Also important is the fact that most dedicated DD captains at mid tier have the concealment expert skill, leading to situations where a player fresh from the low tiers has to face enemies that have a 1km or better stealth advantage. My tip would be to play a bit less aggressive and try to get to 10p with every DD captain you have. Also, try to look up Notser on Youtube, he's a DD player and has some good ideas on how to play them. And if you need advice how to develop your captains go to shipcomrade.com and look at the recommended captain builds in the skill calculator. -

Anyone wants to know how much the Aigle earns with some good signals and camo? Here's an obligatory "it's not the ship, it's the player" Giulio Cesare game: Almost a kraken, one salvo more... Also a few well played DD games out of a string of victories (people play derpy in the evening). -
Oh I'm not thinking, that's what's my experience tells me. I have found out that being able to keep the guns on target while changing course is of great value in the Aigle. The ability to juke and fire is priceless.

The Emile has troll armor. It is so lightly (un)armored that AP always overpens when the ships shows broadside. The only vulnerability is the citadel. You're welcome. I try to stay up to date on the RN CLs as they are some of my most favorite ships.
