Ah the Schrödinger's Bug response, there might or might not be a bug out there. I'm eagerly awaiting the final announcement whether there's a bug. A common sense response from a WG employee... Now, I've seen everything. Going to buy lottery tickets tonight. As @MrConwaypointed out before, stealth changes don't make sense. WG's games are leaky as hell, people can rip their contents out and check for changes at will. Hell, I have extracted all of the captain portrait overlays just to identify their medals, and I'm a complete noob when it comes to data mining. Consider what someone with experience could extract.

Moar Medals & Achievements, because bling matters!
Aragathor replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I really like the CC based achievements posted by @LittleWhiteMouse. Getting a Notser's medal would be hilarious, and it's high time we got something based on Jingles. That guy has been featured in Heliborne and Fractured Space already. -
Not really. The recent patch SNAFU with underwater pens has shown that the client has become so complicated that a small tweak here might wreck something elsewhere. If the module is bugged then maybe something got changed inadvertently. Also, the Missouri has been removed from the client and cannot be bought anymore.

That tweet looks like it's quoting directly from the WoWS Dev-CC discord. So if the devs are investigating the Misery then something is wrong, because otherwise they would be sounding the all clear. I have noticed the derpines of the guns too, but dismissed it as RNG. Now however I'm not so certain, since I had several cases of whole broadsides not hitting perfect targets.

Riiight, you shoot and the torps correct their course when the enemy tries to dodge. We could open a salt manufacture rivaling K+S if this get implemented.

How is your progress with campaign "Gold of France" (of three stages)?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
If they limited the amount of ships then the game would have a shorter overall lifespan. Let me take a stab at your suggestions: -PvP Scenarios - already being made. In fact WG has stated that they are very happy with how people reacted to the introduction of the mode in 2017. -Mines + Subs - Mines were a part of the Operation Dynamo scenario. They are however of little value for normal modes. Subs of the era are also only good for scenarios due to their slow speed. -Improvements of the UI - constant work in progress. -Karma - that one has been raised time and again, whether WG will do anything is to be seen. The game is only broken in your opinion. Questions on how to improve the game were, as far as I know, raised already in the alpha stage. Comparing old vids of the game with the current situation shows that the game improved a lot since the beginning. PS: Asashio has been harshly criticized and is on its 3rd iteration now or maybe 4th. So it's not like WG is ignoring our feedback. -
How is your progress with campaign "Gold of France" (of three stages)?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
If we go by this as a prerequisite we may as well limit the ships in game to IJN and USN ships, with an occasional RN scenario against German bots. Now that would be a snoozefest and a nail in the game's coffin. Historically the French have been a catalyst of ship development in the interwar period. German development of the Deutschland-class moved the French to build the Dunkerque, which prompted Germany to build the Scharnhorst-class with the 28cm guns, which in turn forced the French to uparmor the Strasbourg (it's a travesty that the ship isn't in the game as the silver T7 BB). At the same time the Richelieu-class was designed to counter the Italian Littorio-class BBs. French destroyer design influenced the Italians and made them build the various sub-classes of the Condottieri-class, which with their high velocity guns influenced the Soviet Kirov-class cruisers. French DDs were also the first DDs bought by the interwar Polish navy. Dismissing a whole navy because history didn't give it a chance to fight is unfair and also ignores its non combat influence. I'd say that the floral applications and the bow figure more closely match the Empire-style, which is quite distinct from the Louis XVI. -
No one here is saying that the ship should be released as it is. In fact the point of the topic is to ask what changes should be made before the release. @T0byJug stated in the first post that the torp reload should be changed to balance the ship. So I see no point in your post, save for repeating what has already been said.

Of course hydro is useful, but that's the point of German DDs. From T6 up to T10 they can enter a cap and challenge the DDs there. And comparing the ship with Gnevny class ships is like comparing apples and pears, very similar yet different. As it stands the T-61 has a worse turning circle than Farragut and Hatsuharu, plus the IJN and USN DDs have way better rudder shifts. So it's not like the ship has better maneuverability against it's direct opponents. Damage potential is one thing, but let's ask ourselves who is going to drive the T-61. Because the numbers you quoted are impressive, and my hat's off to you for providing them. But let's not forget, the T-61 if introduced would be one of the two German premium DDs (one of which is a travesty), which would mean that anyone serious about training his German DD captains would buy it. So with a nerfed torpedo reload this potential would end up most likely as the middle of the road avg. damage. BTW the two highest avg. damage dealing T6 DDs are the Shinonome and the Fushun. One is driven by experienced players, the other has DWT. The hydro equipped Gaede with the 90s torps is in the middle way below the Gallant. Strong premium T6s are not a bad thing IMHO. This is a tier that is mostly uptiered to T7-8, so it faces stiff opposition. Silver ships can be replaced by the next ship in the tech tree, premiums stay where they are.

How many people, save for the Dutch, would be willing to buy this ship if it was a stand alone Dutch destroyer? Probably much less than if she was released as a German DD, that's for sure. Also, the ship never served as a Dutch ship, it was a ship under construction that was adapted by the Germans as the Fleet Torpedo Boat 1940. The HNMLS Tjerk-Hiddes that saw service in WW2 was the N-Class destroyer HMS Nonpareil, so replacing it with a ship that never served under the Dutch flag would be wrong. But wait, there's more. The HNMLS Tjerk-Hiddes is already in the game, as it is nothing more than the Indonesian KRI Gadjah Mada. I don't see how putting this ship as a Dutch premium would benefit the game. Especially since you would need to remove all German weapons and replace them with scratch built Dutch ones. But that's the hallmark of all German DDs, they are less agile and fatter that other DDs but in return have better health. Sure the Hydro is a benefit, but at T6 it's worse than cruiser hydro at T4. Sure, looking at reload times the Gallant looks old with 96s compared with a nerfed T-61. But it can shoot single torps instead of spreads. And that's a huge deal, especially since Gallant is stealthier and can come a bit closer to fire. In my opinion just increasing the torpedo reload to 90s would give us a ship that would be strong but not too strong for it's tier.

How is your progress with campaign "Gold of France" (of three stages)?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I finished the campaign on Saturday, but I'm going for the honors. Hope to finish it by next week. Funnily enough the Lyon mission dropped from one of the last containers, just as I was finishing the grind with that ship. -
I'm uncertain whether to buy the Gascan or to wait for the Roma to come back. Right now I can only get one, so the choice is hard.
-
Your proposal is too complicated to be worth anything.
-
Yup, I once won 2 CQEs in a single battle in a Leander. Secondaries on cruisers are almost pure RNG.

I'm slowly getting towards the point where I can with all certainty say that the Richelieu is a bad ship. Just like the Dunkerque it has overpenetrating guns at short ranges, bad dispersion at long ranges (short too), and offers no incentive to play compared with ships like the Amagi, Bismarck, or North Carolina. Sadly, to progress to T9 and beyond, I will have to grind the ship. But I will be certainly not keeping it or even advising anyone to keep it. It's just too inferior compared to other T8 ships. It's a pity that WG can't balance French ships, because their BB line is just like the cruiser line all over the place.

WG: Please Ban The Mod That Place 'X' on the Map
Aragathor replied to TheFierceRabbit's topic in General Discussion
I have used this mod before, now I don't. It's not because I think it's cheating, but because it isn't as helpful as people think. Shooting people in smoke is easier if you either use spotter plane or watch the ship fire from smoke. A skilled player won't just stop dead in his smoke but will move around, making the X useless. The only people getting hammered by this mod are bad players who sit still and expect good things to happen to them. Such people have given me really nice dev strikes in the past. And using this mod against players which are visible and moving is a joke, if you need a mod to shoot people like that you probably have problems playing the game either way. -
Z-39 (upcoming premium) Dropped to TVII
Aragathor replied to theta0123's topic in General Discussion
The only thing broken on the T-61 is the torpedo reload. Giving the G7 Steinbutt torps the same reload as they have on the Gaede and the Maass would balance the ship. -
Z-39 (upcoming premium) Dropped to TVII
Aragathor replied to theta0123's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, increasing the reload would not harm the T-61, as it would still be quite different from the Gaede. I'm not really a fan of the 150mm guns, so my interest in the Z-39 is limited even at T7. -
Nah, Stage 5 was like that one relative you had to endure during family celebration. Like the creepy uncle constantly throwing around with pervy remarks, but who would help you big time that one time you were in a dark spot. Or the partially deaf aunt which stank of cat urine but had a big part of her inheritance reserved for you. Sometimes the payout for Stage 5 was really neat, like the free Mikasa I got last year in the week of my cake day, sometimes it was meh. But the requirements were out of this world a lot of times.

Aigle marathon, how's your progress been so far?
Aragathor replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I'm running SI and I must say that the extra smoke and speed boost really make a difference. If I don't get ganked early on I tend to run out of both during the battle. SE changes the ship from a solid DD into a hulking brawler. The other DDs at tier have way less with the exception of the Gaede. So you can get into a 1v1 and come out alive easily. -
That's not true, it might be your perception but stat wise Akatsuki has better guns. Let's compare them: Akatsuki Shiratsuyu Number of Guns 3x2 2x2, 1x1 Range 10,4km 11km Rotation Speed 6,9 deg/s 6 deg/s Dispersion 92m 97m All the other stats are the same, so the same damage, fire chance, reload, speed etc. Akatsuki has more guns that turn faster and fire tighter, she has less range than the Shiratsuyu. In a straight up gunfight my money would be on the Akatsuki every time.

There have been some proposals for a partial lines that could start with the Hawkins at T5, go through York, have County/Kent and County/Norfolk at T7 and T8, with a finisher made of paper designs. Hell, there's even the HMS London, a perfect fit for a T7 premium, since it received a unique refit in 1939.
-
Win, survive, and earn a Clear Sky. Prerequisite: Tier X DD. I miss the old rewards, I miss the whole event based design where we had missions based on real life battles, but I sure as hell don't miss the old Stage 5.
-
Which is a pity, since a heavy cruiser line would really offer some variety to the British line. I also think that being so vehement as to line splits is a bad way to go, as the alternative is to have several lines filled with 50%+ paper designs.
