That's an interesting explanation. WG has decided that instead of catering to people willing to spend smaller amounts over time, they'd rather provide exclusive content to people willing to shell out large bucks upfront. This is risky and might not be sustainable, as whales might stop spending at any time, which would hit the revenue stream adversely in a much larger way than the alternative. Because a guy spending 10€ every month is not a great loss if you have 30.000 doing the same, but a guy spending 300 out of 1000 is. We will have to wait and see how this develops, but I'm not optimistic. This also has a negative influence on the people who aren't willing/able to spend big, they are going to be pushed by the wayside, as the offers made by WG may target only whales (like the space camo). Leaving people willing to spend some money, with nothing to spend the money on. We already can see this in the premium shop, with no low tier premiums on sale. Without a diversified offer I don't really see people making the jump from occasional spender to regular one. -

Decent. You don't have the upgrades, which especially for the 6th slot, is important. So you have the ship but can't customize it to perform like a T10. The ships themselves are not identical AFAIK, but the playstyle is the same. You will lumber about in the Alldestroyer the same as you would in the Currywurst, or eat citadels in the Norma.

I have found that the Normandie is very well suited to T6 ops. It has good speed, lots of guns, and the secondaries are good for close work with some adjustments. -
The only positive thing beside the elite commander XP is the T10 showcase. While not every T10 is present I must say the picks have been good. I love the Norma/Minotaur and I decided not to stop at the Alsace with the French BBs after playing the Paris.

Visually it's a EDIT fiesta, it's hard to spot torps, aiming is bad. The sound is all over the place. And don't start me on giving people T10 ships.

That's one hell of a camouflage. Almost as good as Jingles in his cosplay uniform. Because of that contest I haven't spent my doubloons for a permanent camo on the Normandie. And I'm keeping the ship to replace my Cleveland as the go to for T6 ops. -
From a business standpoint this would makes sense, if they could hide it from the players. The risks would be quite prominent, but the benefits too. Tin foil territory... Until recently Missouri was the only free XP ship, then the Musashi was introduced 3 months ago. With 2 mil. battles played the performance drop would need to be huge to be noticeable after 3 months. Assuming WG stealth changed anything.

No, they are trying to make sure that people who started to play the game have nothing to spend money on. People who had the chance bought a lot of premiums. New players can wait for WG's artificial scarcity system to generously allow them to buy the premium they want. But the system is so bad that there is almost no rotation. The premium ships in the shop are a joke right now, no low tiers and a pitiful choice from mid and high. -
I'm more and more certain this is the case. I have seen too many hits that made no sense. Too many shells hitting the target and doing nothing but causing a splash. Many people are probably noticing it but not connecting the dots.

Once again WG/Lesta surprise us with a genius move. 5d chess indeed. Less shop items = better shop offers. Instead of shafting only EU, now everyone gets the shaft. -

Here's a comparison. I've spent around 250€ on santa crates this year, a big chunk of change. But in return I've got 11K doubloons, 6 months premium, and 12 premium ships including the Kamikaze. So I've got some return on those boxes, the camos? Not so much. -

I love the Halloween skins, spent some serious coin on those crates to get them. But I use them on applicable ships and consider the price I paid for the containers (~50€) to be fair. I rebought the ship and the Nassau just because of those skins. I also had some positive reactions to the Tesla-Tirpitz camo. -

The price creep scares me off from spending money in the future. I just realized I can buy the gold edition of Far Cry 5 for just 3 of those camos, and that's the base game, exclusive content, plus the season pass. If the prices escalate any further I'll be spending money elsewhere. -

Even though I would love to get some of those space camos I won't be opening my wallet for them. Asking for 30€ is too much, especially since a standard premium camo costs 20€. The added optics do not justify this price tag increase in my opinion. -
That's why I use the MS22 camo mod for my USN boats. The ships look better in it.

The problem with Hipper/Eugen is that both ships are weak and will be buffed according to WG. WG may differentiate the ships by giving them different buffs, but I would prefer that both ships receive their historical reload. The Eugen doesn't offer a different experience as the Hipper, but it's also one of the best captain trainers in the game, plus the playstyle is straight up German CA making switching captains easy. Having received the ship through a santa crate I was happy to sell the Hipper. The Z-39 is inferior to the Z-23. The loss of a gun hurts, as the 150mm rifles have a long reload. Having a RPM of 32 on the Z-39 compared to 45 on the Z-23 is a huge difference. And you mean Z-39 not Z-23, are you?

Compare the Ernst Gaede and the Z-39 side by side. Without the concealment module the Z-39 is better when it comes to HP and Torpedo armament. Other than that it is within the power level of the T6. The guns are the same. 4x 150mm. Same stats. So no benefit there. Compared to the Maass it only has better HP. And even that can be nullified with skills, the firepower carried by the Maass is superior, as 5x128mm fires almost twice as fast as the 150mm. This ship is really uninspiring even at T7.

I took her out on the WE. T9 game. Kept my head cool and did well even though one BB hit shaved off half my health. Survived and did decent damage. I'm going to miss that old boat, because I'm not going to play her again after WG turns her into a sailing target.

Here's a vidya from Notser talking about the T-61: He also mentions the Z-39. According to him it's a weak ship that is not fun. My wallet's closed for the Z-39 WG, just so you know.

Right, Pensacola also gets a ridiculous concealment nerf that makes it more visible than some BBs.
