If WG had communicated this all in advance, the reaction woudln't be as harsh as it is now. Hell, they could have just put up an article called "change to premium ship policy" and they would end up smelling like roses. Instead we have people rightfully asking whether anything WG says has any value. And the answer is, no. WG is moving the goal posts, changing the rules, and not caring to communicate it in any way to us. It's totally not going to bite them in the a$$...

Zao - a must have. It improves the ship in many ways, and the loss of range is acceptable. Having that extra rudder shift allows you to wiggle better. But it's the accuracy improvement that's evil. With it Zao has destroyer levels of accuracy. If you don't potato the shot you are guaranteed over 50% hits. Hindenburg - looks nice, doesn't work. Losing concealment on a ship with already bad concealment is a stupid design choice. With the upcoming CE change the upgrade will become total garbage. WG should have put it in slot 6, to compete with offensive upgrades. People would have had the choice to either play the Hinden as a tanky cruiser or a hard hitting one. Instead it's a no go. Henri IV - 15.59km detection at best. Compared with 12.75km without. The LU doubles down on the worst and most criticized characteristics of Henri IV. You sit in spawn, hope for others to spot for you, do some DoT with fire, once spotted you get blapped. All that for an extra 1,5km range and a 1,29s reload drop. I'd consider this one a downgrade.

First, Znamensky is wasted on the line. Neither Udaloi nor Grozovoi will properly make use of his special skills. Second, if you are serious about using this captain up the line, then you need to shuffle the skills. Drop TAE and RPF, pick SE and AFT. You will need SI on the Grozo too, so you might want to prioritize that over SE at first. Unless you want to play Grozo like an inferior Khaba, then you need completely different skills. Third and most important. Ognevoi is the worst silver ship at T8. Its main armament is lacking in every category. You not having great games in it is not because of some inability to understand the ship, but because the ship is bad. Here's what you can do to make the ship workable: -Replace the DCSM 1 with Propulsion Mod 1. -Make full use of your smoke and long range on the guns. If you pick SI as skill instead of SE, you will have 4 smokes. This will allow you to pew pew from over 14km and with 8% fire chance you're bound to grill someone. -Don't be afraid to put a Sierra Mike signal on the ship and replace speed boost with def AA. 39kn are enough for a ship that isn't gunboating in the open and some extra AA defense helps. -Use the concealment to get closer to people before torping them. Shooting the slow torps from 10km is bound to fail.

I'm putting it down to the fact that wallet boys play the ship with 3p captains.

I came here expecting some dramatic announcement full of rage. Instead I get this. I'm disappointed. I really am. Holy Fury in 9 days.

They hyped up the Diablo crowd with hints that a big reveal is coming, creating expectations for D4, and then presented a reskin of a Chinese mobile game as "it". Instant memes ensured. A guy in the audience asked if this was "a delayed April fool's joke" and during the presentation a dev asked the crowd of PC players if they "don't have phones". Let's just say Diablo and Blizzard reddits are warzones right now. And about WG, that's why I said most places, there is still a lot of room for improvements.

If you really want to see incompetence, look at what Blizzard did at Blizzcon this year. In contrast WG has improved in most places over time. Besides, we get an extra day of CB test this week. So I don't see a need for training room games. I'd rather grind lines in randoms.

Same here, the second last of the five gave me the Z-23 camo. Out of the four new ones it was the second I wanted, after Mogami. Now I have a dedicated captain for the ship and a nice skin.

There's a difference between the Fiji and the Akatsuki. The guns on the Fiji are the main weapons of the ship, while those on the Akatsuki are a self defense tool. The torps on the Fubuki are only slightly worse, while the ship enjoys a concealment advantage. Fiji is a straight upgrade to the Leander, while the Akatsuki is actually weaker compared to Fubuki in many critical areas.

Ships that drop from the established progression pattern of a line should be changed to follow the line characteristics. Iterations not fitting into a line can be used as premium ships. No matter how solid Akatsuki is on the first glance, it is weaker than the preceding and succeeding ships in the line. Fubuki and Kagero have much better concealment values, while the Akatsuki is outspotted by several silver and premium ships at T7 alone. Fubuki has 12,9k health at T6, Kagero has 15,1k at T8, Akatsuki has 200 hp more than the Fubuki, which isn't really an upgrade. Akatsuki has worse rudder shift than both other ships, not by much, but still. She's 3 kn faster. The ship could do with a concealment buff and more hp to make it more than just a sidegrade to Fubuki.

I have found the "flip a coin" act during the Halloween stream to be in bad taste. It would have cost 0€ to just spread some pumpkins among good players participating in the stream games. Instead they turned it into something borderline demeaning. Your last point is a perfect summary of the failure of WG policies. WoWS is an entertainment product, companies that disappoint don't deserve money. I have been sorely tempted to buy some pumpkins, as I really love the optics of the 4 new ship skins. But I keep stopping myself from buying, as bad RNG and my recent disappointment with drop rates from crates tell me the bang is not worth the buck.

Not a real buff, German boats don't get better, just everyone else gets worse. WG is aware we don't like the changes.

The twitch port was a claimable reward for twitch prime users together with Captain Kappa. It was offered only once, and could not be claimed retroactively. A month later the reward was Texas with twitch camo. I forgot to claim the first month rewards, but got the twitch camo and some silver for my Texas.

While it's nice there will be a discussion, there should be a decision about the upcoming CB season and that ship. Because I fear that CBs will be soon stacked against clans without Stalingrads. KotS already has shown that Moskva has been replaced by it.

Bad concealment on a fragile ship that relies mainly on its torpedoes is enough to make it bad. Akatsuki has been powercrept, Mahan got a concealment buff recently, several gun boats have been released with better concealment than her. Unless you play a max range torpedo attack ship you risk getting wrecked.

I have seen one, now deleted, post on reddit about this. So far, no reliable source confirmed this. So I remain in doubt of any rumours.

The midtier IJN destroyers have been power crept hard by new releases. Akatsuki for example is outspotted by Jervis, Gadjah Mada, Z-39. The recent Mahan concealment buff made the spotting difference shrink to a paltry 170m. Which means she can be too easily countered if she isn't played at max range. The lower tiers and the gun line from T8 up are ok. But there should be a concealment buff to the ships at mid tier. I haven't played the main line at T8 and up, so I can't comment on that.

Can't wait for the Stalinstomp and the WG apologists afterwards, who will defend the ship as balanced.
