1st Anniversary? Thanks , but not really...

Got mine after playing the Helena. Don't mind if I do.
  2. Although I never sold or will sell a premium ship, I think that this is awesome. Especially for those who sold a rare premium like the Arkansas. @Sehales & WG thanks for the change!
  3. @LittleWhiteMousehas tested the new torpedo bulge penetration changes which will in the future deal damage to ships, instead of being no damage pens. Link below: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/173813-mouses-morning-of-testing/ The meat of the change is that hits that penetrate torpedo bulges will in the future deal 10% damage instead of 0 damage. This means that torpedo bulges will guarantee damage even to properly angled ships. This is a massive nerf to ships that have torpedo bulges, as it guarantees damage to parts of the ship that should mitigate damage taken. According to her not only BBs are going to taste the nerf hammer but also the following cruisers: That's right, the French cruisers from T5 up will get nerfed, just after being buffed with the MRB because few people played them. Also nerfed are IJN cruisers, because it's easy to kick someone who is already on the ground. The following premiums will have to be evaluated anew when the changes hit: If this change goes through, together with the DD AP pen changes and the Concealment Expert nerf, it will make BBs only playable as spawn point snipers. @MrConwaywhy has WG decided to nerf the IJN and MN cruisers? And why are ships possesing torpedo bulges going to receive a nerf, since no one has asked for it? PS: All spoiler text comes from @LittleWhiteMouse posts which clarified the changes on the NA forum.

Hindenburg Nerf - An conceptual failure

Very simple, I have seen it myself in a gaming company for which I worked a few years back. Such companies often have this one guy who knows the in's and out's of the game's balance. With a glance he can adjust the mistakes other designers make. But then the design team starts crapping on balance or life throws a curve ball and the guy quits. What follows are "kewl" ideas that are unbalanced and not fun, the game quality drops, and in the worst case the company folds. Most likely, the WoWS balance guy left for greener pastures. Or one of the "kewl" designers got promoted to head honcho.

    Collectors club

It is. Patron saint of India. According to the old Dev Blog entry the collectors badge has grades. But I think it's the total amount of ships, not premiums. Today's "update" means nothing but same old, same old.

    So, no daily shipment today?

This might well be true, but with the caveat that the list of daily login rewards changes and the pumpkin cannot be obtained. I have a problem that as a loyal paying customer I'm the only one not getting anything extra. Since it's too complicated and hard to implement the Collectors Club outside of Russia and WG would rather reward people not playing the game anymore with premiums, I have come to a conclusion that WG doesn't care about me as a player.

    So, no daily shipment today?

The patch notes do not state that tomorrow the daily shipment list will remain as it is, with the premium pumpkin. It only says that until today there's a Halloween theme. Also, new players get a free premium through daily shipments, loyal players get nothing extra.

Henri IV - Special perma camo (available for purchase)

You will be happy to hear that the Marine Nationale used a uniform light gray paint instead of any fancy camouflage patterns. Both before WW2 and under the Vichy French.

    So, no daily shipment today?

According to Femennenly on Reddit the daily shipments run until the 8th November, making the premium pumpkin container unobtainable, as today is the 8th and the reward for today was/is 50 dubs. Any comments @Sehales?

Henri IV - Special perma camo (available for purchase)

Only Emile Bertin and La Galissonniere qualify, and LaGal only as a class. Algerie was scuttled at Toulon, so it never had an American refit. The more I look into the French color schemes, the more I realize WG was extremely lazy with the cruisers.

Ich sehe es als weder ein Buff noch als ein Nerf. Es ist nur eine Veränderung.

    Daily Shipments

That's a really good idea. The doubloon offer was limited to 1. Other daily shipment rewards will be most likely offered in the future or unlocked for free, like the Halloween daily shipment.
  13. The economy buffs also encourage people to grind fXP or buy doubloons for conversion. We will see a lot more ships for fXP if WG wants to keep the fXP rewards at the level they are now.

Hindenburg Nerf - An conceptual failure

IFHE must go or Germans have to be uparmored.

Henri IV - Special perma camo (available for purchase)

Funny thing, Marine Nationale cruisers used that color scheme during the WW2, after receiving refits in American ports. So the camo is in fact the American Measure 22, and not a French camo.

Hindenburg Nerf - An conceptual failure

This is the reason I don't believe the extra heal will change anything. Bad concealment and prevalence of hard counters means that the extra heal will be useless. You get blapped and you are out of the game even if you retain 1/3 of your health. You can heal some of it back, but you will do it hiding behind an island, and most likely only using the front guns. Won't change anything. Having better torps will only lure Hindens closer, where they will be melted with IFHE in addition to 20km sniper shots from Republiques. I took a long hard look at Henri IV just now, and that ship looks impressive with clear strengths and a defined role. Compared to Henri IV the Hindenburg has a long way to go to be competitive, because it has no role, it has no strength. There is nothing special about the Hindenburg. And WG is just throwing band aids on it, because they have no idea what to do with the ship.
  17. yup. But they have kept the torpedo damage change. No more terminator DDs tanking 17k torps.

Some interesting info around the world

After the first stage of the version 0.7.11 public test, we decided to cancel the changes affecting the damage of shells to bulges, secondary battery/AA defense, and fully destroyed parts of a ship. The decision was made based on the collected statistics and feedback left by participants of the public test. Due to the specifics of the armor and layout of some ships, especially battleships, the new mechanics led to an excessive increase in damage received when hit in the area of bulges, and that adversely affected the ships' survivability. At the same time, the interaction of shells with secondary battery/AA defense, and fully destroyed parts of a ship worked correctly, however, the disadvantages of this solution outweigh the advantages. Note that the same changes, but with torpedo damage, remain in effect. This will aid in avoiding situations in combat, when a destroyer remains afloat after receiving a lot of torpedo hits without damage, due to the fact that the section of the ship was 'damage saturated' and had no Hit points remaining. Since the game mechanics are not removed from the game, but only switched off by means of coefficients, now the ribbon of "Over penetration" without causing damage will be replaced by "Penetration" without causing damage. This will have no effect on the amount of damage done by shells and will leave it at the 0.7.10 update level. Although the mechanics will not appear in the game with update 0.7.11, we will continue to search for a solution for cases where the player receives a "Penetration" ribbon without causing damage to the ship. Thank you for the time spent on the test and for your feedback!

ST. Change in Secondary Armament. The changes will affect ships with Secondary Armament using AP shells. This type of shells will be replaced by HE shells. German battleships Nassau, Kaiser, Koenig, Koenig Albert and Bayern: Secondary Armament 150 mm: - Damage: 1800; - Chance of Fire: 10%; - Armor penetration: 1/4 caliber. Italian battleship Giulio Cesare: Secondary Armament 120 mm: - Damage: 1700; - Chance of Fire: 7%; - Armor penetration: 1/6 caliber. Italian battleship Roma: Secondary Armament 152 mm: - Damage: 2100; - Chance of Fire: 7%; - Armor penetration: 1/6 caliber. British battleship Nelson: Secondary Armament 152 mm: - Damage: 2150; - Chance of Fire: 9%; - Armor penetration: 1/6 caliber. Japanese battleship Izumo, the Yamato and Musashi: Secondary Armament 155 mm: - Damage: 2600; - Chance of Fire: 10%; - Penetration: 1/6 caliber. Japanese battleships Ishizuchi, Kawachi, Myogi, Fuso, Kongo, ARP Kongo, ARP Kirishima, ARP Haruna and ARP Hiei: Secondary Armament 152 mm: - Damage: 2500; - Chance of Fire: 9%; - Armor penetration: 1/6 caliber. Japanese battleships Mutsu, Ashitaka, Nagato, Amagi and Kii: Secondary Armament 140 mm: - Damage: 2400; - Chance of Fire: 10%; - Penetration: 1/6 caliber. AP shells Secondary Armament are very situational and effective only in rare cases, for example, when it is possible to penetrate the citadel of light cruisers. HE shells are more stable, can set fires, not ricochet and are effective against any class. The change is intended to improve the efficiency of these ships in close combat and to enable stable damage due to Secondary Armament. Japanese cruiser Chikuma: HE shells of Main Battery: - Damage reduced from 2600 to 2500; - Chance of Fire reduced from 13% to 9%; - MB reload reduced from 12 to 11.5 s. Changes to the shells of this cruiser bring the same parameters to those with the same guns. Due to the unification and decreased performance of the characteristics of the shells, the ship gets an acceleration to reloading of the MB guns. Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.
  20. I have posted a similar post in that thread. It is easy to change smaller numbers in the client. So we might as well assume this is the initial reaction to the posts made in that topic. I'm surprised by the fact that Atago is not getting a buffed reload.

    Anime

The series is great because of that character, he goes full smoked ham in every scene. It's so over the top that it's hilarious. I'm going to start watching Danshi Koukosei no Nichijou. From what I've been told it's similar to Nichijou in its humor.
  22. Yeah, 3 Hydros are enough with the special upgrade and SI was only good for the extra heal. Right now I'm torn between Vigilance and BFT to pick as a replacement. Nice IJN buffs. The Myoko one was long overdue. Interesting how the accuracy will be improved. I'm surprised they didn't improve Akatsuki's concealment, it's really bad.

Some interesting info around the world

ST. Japanese ships. Main Battery guns 203 mm of Japanese cruisers (Furutaka, Aoba, Myoko, Mogami, Ibuki, Atago, ARP Myoko, ARP Ashigara, ARP Haguro, Southern Dragon, Eastern Dragon, ARP Nachi, ARP Takao) receive an increase in the accuracy, similar to the accuracy of the cruiser Zao. The change highlights one of the main features of these ships - good volley damage at a relatively low rate of fire. To improve combat effectiveness and bring them in line with classmates, Japanese cruisers receive the following improvements Japanese cruisers Myoko, ARP Myoko, ARP Ashigara, ARP Haguro, Southern Dragon, Eastern Dragon, ARP Nachi: Main Battery rotation speed has been increased from 4 to 5 g/s. Japanese cruiser Ibuki: Reload Time decreased from 15 to 13.7 s. Japanese destroyers Hatsuharu, Fubuki, Shiratsuyu, Akatsuki, Kagero, Yugumo, Shimakaze, Shinonome, Asashio, Asashio B, HSF Harekaze: Increased damage from HE shells from 1800 to 2150; Increased Chance of Fire from 7 to 9%. Increasing the damage of the shells will allow the Japanese destroyers to more effectively resist classmates. With higher damage volleys and good Detectability Range, Japanese destroyers will be stronger in confrontations with ships with depleted Hit Points, even if they possess a superior rate of fire of their MBs. Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.
