Latest Leaks From WG Fest 2018 - Discussion Thread
Aragathor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
So a paper line of BBs no one outside Russia really wants and a CV line fitted into the failure you call a "rework". I'm not interested at all, in any of the things you have shown. -
T8 ships aren't doomed against T10s, they are at a severe disadvantage. Many of the T8 ships can hold their own against similar T10s. The problem lies when T7s and T6s face the +2 MM and play in games where the overwhelming majority of enemies has ships that outclass them completely. Let's not forget that starting from T8 ships get access to the concealment module and at T9 they have the 6th upgrade slot. T6 DD is easily outspotted by a T8, just because of the extra 10% concealment the T8 gets. I must disagree with your assumption that there are "magic" HE shells or any other things you claim, like cheats. Unless you have proof. The point I made, was that WG did not improve T8/T5 MM, they just screwed over the other mid tiers.

Wait for enough steel to get Stalin or get USS black (Ultimate crocodile camo)
Aragathor replied to Ysterpyp's topic in General Discussion
Hey, you forgot the disclaimer. Don't worry, I'll put it up for you: "This message has been brought to you by a Stalingrad owner, who will stoop as low as he can to prevent the ship from being nerfed by WG." Also a personal note, Stalingrad has already reached your personal top 10 of most played ships and it has been released only recently. I wonder why... -
It grew between each season. Between S1 and S2 the growth was around 20%. Between S2 and S3 by 10%. Between S3 and S4 by 12%. The average growth between seasons is 14%. The average number of clans that were added between seasons was 2044. The fact that the amount of clans participating in CBs dropped even though the amount of clans increased is also interesting. Do you have any hard data to support this? Because that's a far fetched generalization. Have you made a representative survey? A study? For you, you mean. And your clan. You can't really speak for WG, you don't represent them, you have 0 idea how they really see the CBs. It's an assumption you are making, an assumption based on a projection of your own feelings. Sorry, but feelings are not numbers. The amount of clans is growing, but not the amount of clans participating in clan battles. This is a failure and WG is to blame for that, because they design CBs not the players. They fail to attract people to this mode.

WG clearly needs more time to collect data.

Tier X Personal Combat Mission: who has that kind of time on his hand?
Aragathor replied to Bratwurst_Bob's topic in General Discussion
Those missions are not meant to be finished in one month. The game is just so designed that WG can't put missions in without an end date. So they compromised and put in the end of the year instead. But they also failed to put in any description in to warn people that the "end" date just just a place holder and the missions are there until you finish them. -
tanks freexp conversion special
Aragathor replied to Captain_Singleton's topic in General Discussion
We had one last year, so there's a chance. But I wouldn't count on anything. The Christmas offering this year has been rather poor. -
Season 1 had 11,2% of all clans playing CB, Season 2 had 10%, Season 3 had 8,2%, and until now Season 4 had 7%. Those numbers you want to conveniently put aside show that CB mode is slowly failing, after it failed to pull in a large amount of clans at the beginning. Not for people like you, you and your clan mates are secure at the top. But the overwhelming majority of clans sees no benefit in playing this mode. WG should rethink the idea behind Clan Battles to make it appeal to a broader audience, even if it ruffles the feathers of competitive clans. EDIT Fixed a calculation mistake.

“Yamamoto Isoroku” collection containers - Arsenal?
Aragathor replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in Archive
The drop rate is random. There is no guarantee for any of the daily crates. -
Wait for enough steel to get Stalin or get USS black (Ultimate crocodile camo)
Aragathor replied to Ysterpyp's topic in General Discussion
I would go for Stalingrad. Not because it's a great ship. It isn't. But because WG might replace it with the Azuma and never bring it back. After what happened to Kronshtadt and Musashi, I wouldn't be surprised if WG did this. PS: Black isn't going anywhere. -
Indeed. WG should make progress and CWs attractive to clans and not the other way around. I just looked up the stats for yesterday's sesion, here are the numbers: -1335 clans participated in yesterday's session. 1 in Hurricane, 25 in Typhoon, 198 in Storm, 510 in Gale, 601 in Squall. -17577 didn't participate. http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/cvc/season04/info03_eu.html That means that 7,6% of clans have taken the time and energy to play at least one game. Which is sad, as it shows that Clan battles are unattractive to the overwhelming majority of clans. We need more clans playing, but this would require WG to balance this mode, and they are clearly not interested. @Earl_of_Northeskyour solution would just erode the player base faster, as people in lower leagues would be outmatched more often and would just see no reason to play at all. No one wants to play games where they have lost on the loading screen already.

WG's communication with the customers is faulty and you should not be surprised that people don't like it or that they are highly critical of both it and you as a WG rep. Let me use the current situation as an example: Clan emblems are announced for the 0.7.11 patch. Patch day comes and goes and there are no patches for collectors. Here's what happened: -People start asking on the forum whether anyone has received theirs. -A week passes. -You give the "a few days" response. -More time passes. -People start talking again, unsure what's happening. -You come in again and say "next week with the patch" -People see that WG doesn't take any of this seriously, being dismissive of both them and the issue. Here's what should have happened: -Unannounced you drop in to the topic the moment you see there's an issue and say: We are having problems with the emblems, this was unforeseen as the loaner and test ships have borked the counting. I'll get back to you when we have fixed the problem and have a new roll out date. BTW the flag will be credited with the first emblem. -People see that you and WG have the finger on the button. -You have a date for the emblems and again unprompted you drop in and say: The issue should be fixed and the emblems credited with the next patch. -Again people see that WG is proactive and not reactive. Also let me address something you like to do, you try to be funny with your responses. Often you appear to be flip instead. Talking to customers and making them feel that you don't take them seriously is not a good thing. Let me give you Colour Sergeant Bourne's advice on that, from the movie Zulu: I don't need to convince you or WG of anything, I will just spend my money elsewhere. You want my custom not the other way around, if I am not happy with the service you provide I can reduce my support for this Free to Play game. Besides, what you are right now doing is just confirming the discrepancy between servers and showing us that WG has lied when they said the servers will be treated equally. The Russian server has a separate forum section for collectors and it doesn't look like you are going to close it. We also do not know whether the Russian server will lose access to special shop offers and ship testing, and you have proven to be an unreliable source on that. What we will be getting is a few cosmetics as a consolation prize, reminding us that WG does not really care about collectors who actively support the game. PS: The forum audience is already split in many ways. Clan and non clan players. People owning Stalingrads and people being clubbed in CWs with them. People who dislike the CV rework and people who will quit playing when it comes to the main game. The divide is there, you just refuse to acknowledge it.

What happened to Red Oak Victory ship?
Aragathor replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
That's because for the duration of the Royal Navy event the container ship stopped being the SS Red Oak Victory. Instead it is a generic Victory-class cargo ship crewed by Royal Navy sailors. The SS Red Oak Victory served exclusively in the pacific theatre, so it has no connection to Great Britain and Royal Navy. It should return to normal next week with the patch. -
Why? WG has committed into making CBs into a horrible experience to everyone save the hurricane clans. The drop in numbers reflects that. We have so much going on that people are rightly deciding that doing missions outside the CBs is worth more, than getting clubbed in gale by a "for lulz" triple Stalingrad super unicum team from typhoon. The amount of events running parallel is staggering and most of them are not compatible with CBs. A Stalingrad in a 7 vs. 7 environment is just a too strong imbalancing factor. In Randoms it's a powerful ship akin to Belfast, too powerful but not an insta win ship.

WG plans to introduce bots in WoT, after WoWp. WoWs next?!
Aragathor replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
It will. Mostly because the devs are too blind to the mistakes they are making and too arrogant to listen to feedback. Maybe not next year, but it's not like the population is growing. -
The problem is that the way the meta progresses soon the good players will adjust by not playing those ships.

Is WoT getting the Christmass patch a week earlier?
Aragathor replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
This Christmas is boring, with all the noise about the campaigns and events, we are already halfway into December with nothing to show for it. Dropping a patch right before Christmas weekend is idiotic. How many people will be leaving on Friday after the patch? -
1 Description After locking onto a target the dispersion doesn't change. 2 Reproduction Lock onto a target and fire. 3 Result The fired shells disperse as if they were shot at a not selected target. 4 Expectation The target lock should reduce dispersion as designed. This bug has been reported several times already as the "lock on" bug.

Commander Snowflakes: Steel for all tier 9-10 and premium tier 8 ships. Coal for regular tier 5-8 and premium tier 2-7 ships.
Aragathor replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Compare this to a wallet warrior like me who is missing a lot of T9-10 silver ships, but has several T8 premiums, I will get 3000 out of this. I wonder how much steel we will get from the directives, the numbers posted by armored patrol on their site don't match the most recent leaks and they claim it will be 500 steel per directive. -
I find it sad that a personal spat between users, has completely overshadowed the fact that we have received an official WG response, confirming that the powercreep of the line is alright and even a visible loss in performance is acceptable. My heart goes out to anyone still playing high tier RN cruisers, I won't bother playing them in this meta anymore.

Instead of larger guns I'd prefer to have better turret angles on the Kurfürst, so that I don't need to show my whole broadside and eat pens to make the ship perform normally.

CV rework new gameplay: what about low AA ships?
Aragathor replied to LDPDC's topic in General Discussion
More or less this: -
Yeah, there's no special flag, no subforum, nothing there. I can't wait for the "you got the emblems, that's it for Collectors Club outside of RU" statement.
-
So just like this a "few days" have turned into 2,5 weeks? What happens when the emblems won't work on patch day? Will we get another lie? I'm growing disgusted with how WG communicates with us using half truths, misdirection, and even outright lies.
