Well, someone datamined the client on NA and it looks like Alaska will be a coal/steel ship which will also be available for doubloons, 18500 doubloons. It won't be available for free XP. The upcoming changes to Frederick the Great won't change the fact that it will remain ineffectual. With their large superstructures and lack of concealment, German BBs are prime targets for IFHE using ships. A brawling secondary specced BB is just dead weight, especially at T9-10. Also, the 1/4 pen rule should have been given to all German BBs armed with 105mm secondaries and not only the Freddy. PS: Investing in IFHE will leave you with no defensive skills, as secondary builds are very skill intensive.

Honesty was never a strength of WG. In fact I suspect that either Lesta is a very toxic place to work in or filled with a lot of fragile egos. WG seems not to be able to admit to making any mistakes. Everything is explained away in such a way that it's blatant that they are running a cover up. Instead of saying "we were mistaken" they create byzantine reasons for what's happening. That's why Kronshtadt has to go, because it's too popular. How popular: People would have been much happier with an honest answer and a raised price, than with this chicanery. The same goes for Alaska.

The bonus in the clan base says "+x% to Steel/Coal you receive". This bonus is applied to any and all additions of Steel/Coal no matter from which source. That's why those buildings are so expensive to upgrade.

And again WG shows that they have no idea how to communicate. Keeping mum about Alaska, even though it is a much anticipated ship, is a mistake. There is only negative hype right now, people are uncertain, don't know how much will it cost, what "currency" it will use etc. Keeping people in the dark will end up making them angry, when the lack of information prevents them from preparing. How many players have been caught off guard by the removal of both the Musashi and Kronshtadt? How many will have to choose between one or the other, unable to get both because they assumed the ships will stay for longer than one year? WG is doing a lot of work to convince people to reduce their investment in the game.

You may as well stop bothering. WG is a customer unfriendly company that thinks it knows better. That's why WoT is still growing, oh wait.

Steel - 4350 Coal - No idea, can't be bothered to count. Coal just doesn't hold as much value to me as steel.

AP bombs have made playing German BBs mostly pointless. Kurfurst is relatively safe and I think Fat Freddy, but everyone else is toast.

WG has offered no free content for Christmas, no daily login bonus, nothing.Everything is either a part of a mission requiring an investment of time, or locked behind a paywall. Even the codes given out during previous streams have had a limited availability, as if giving a free crate to active players would bankrupt the company.

As I grew up the presents did get smaller, until they ended up being just pieces of colored paper. What I've found out is that the value of the presents did not drop. But this here is not a discussion about what your family and friends give you for Christmas, this is business. A company should always work to entice people to use their products, not the other way around. Bad marketing has a way of getting back to the company, just look at the current stock market drops of all major publishers. Bethesda looks at a nasty class action lawsuit, Blizzard got a "dear john" letter from their fans, EA got woke and is going for broke. Last year I bought over a hundred Christmas boxes, this year only five. I didn't buy West Virginia, even though I wanted to. I don't have a problem with that.

Matchmaker. There is nothing less fun than being the sole -2 ship in a battle. The MM should spread the ships around instead of bunching them up and just waiting for a luckless player who clicked start at the wrong moment. Another thing about the MM, the steam roll battles where the victory is decided on the loading screen. Seeing a triple unicum division on the enemy team while potato bob on mine starts reversing in spawn makes me want to rage quit. In the end, proper balancing of premiums. Having ships power creeped after paying money for them is not fun. WG should take a better care of ships they offer for money.

On Thursday WG starts the Christmas directives. Those will give steel. You will also be able to buy a campaign which offers steel rewards. I really hope WG isn't dumb enough to time gate it in any way. Next normal ranked season should also give you steel.

Artificial scarcity strikes again. Just imagine you are American and wake up to see that not a single code works. You will surely be inspired to spend money on the game after that.

The devaluation of the rewards in-game continues. Last year the North Cape collection gave out 4x small santa containers, 1x permanent camo for the Duke of York, and a Flag. Now we get 4x days of premium, 1x small santa container, a flag and a patch. We went from 11,69€ in value to 5,26€. WG is getting really miserly this year.
