I think you missed the fact that you can buy economic flags in the client with doubloons and all types of flags in the Arsenal with coal. The doubloon price AFAIK is very similar to the old shop price, I think it's almost identical but i don't have the topic with the calculations at hand. WG made the right decision to de-clutter the shop and consolidate the flag sale by having them cost doubloons.

My personal favorites: T3 G-101 - better than the T4. Great for lulz and torpedo jousting. Bogatyr - a real fire breather of a ship. T4 Clemson - an overarmed answer to WoT's Luchs, the cutest little murder machine you can own. T5 Furutaka - 203mm guns at T5, combined with good torps and armor. T6 Fuso & Normandie - 12 gun monsters, the first being a fast shooting long range ship and the other a fast secondary derp. Budyonny - the proverbial Russian cruiser, with few weak points if you can understand the ship. T7 As many said there are few lemons on that tier. My personal highlights: Fiji - one of the best RN cruisers. Yorck - after the buffs a worthy introduction to the German heavy cruisers. Gadjah Mada - better than Jervis and still op. Akatsuki - a dedicated gunboat captain makes this ship better than Blyskawica in every category save HP. While still remaining a great torp boat. Lyon - 16x guns just can't do no wrong. T8 A bad tier for silver ships. Z-23 - unique enough to be kept and played with it's 5x 150mm guns. T9 Dimitr Donskoi - an interesting combination of unique guns on a decent platform. Saint Louis - a really good ship that takes the great Charles Martell and upgrades it further. T10 Everything that strikes your fancy. Honorable mention to the dearly departed: AS Bogue - a$$ c@ncer Bogue, the T5 that took a smelly dump on the enemy CV. You will be missed.

I took a speculative look at my accuracy, and the PEF is visibly worse than my overall average and much better than the Bayern. Interestingly enough, my PEF has an almost identical hit rate than my Dunkerque, with only a 0.01% difference. Curiouser and curiouser.

If it is so accurate, then why is your accuracy in it only 1% higher than when you play the Bayern? Also your overall accuracy and your hit rate in the Warspite are better. If the PEF is such accurate and consistent in its gunnery, then surely a unicum player like you should have better stats in those categories.

Funny thing, I haven't said that I follow them blindly, you did. I didn't say that they could not err. But like so many you have shown a vitriolic attitude, when I mentioned that CCs don't like the ship. Or is it maybe envy, because your twitch channel isn't popular? My opinion of the ship is based on my own performance. A pity you can't accept that and the fact that others share it. Maybe because good players recognize a lemon when they play one. I'd love to see how many will keep playing PEF after the 24th.

That's a minority opinion. I haven't seen any other CC besides PointyHairedJedi talking about the PEF this way. What I've seen is the opinion that the ship is barely average (LWM), through the ship being unfun and not worth it (Flamu), to outright hate (Zoup). And those people played the PEF before and after the nerfs. Some CCs didn't even bother to review the nerfed version (iChase, Notser).

Claiming that PEF is being bought mostly by potatoes because of steel is wishful thinking. You can get 2019 if you buy and play the ship, 4038 if you buy the expensive package. That's nothing, as even Flint costs over 10k steel. The people to which buying the PEF appeals most, are people with steel from ranked and clan battles. I bought the PEF to ease the steel collection and remove any need to grind ranked to get the Stalingrad, as I think it is going to get removed in the coming months (it's just a feeling, no hard data). People who have steel belong either to the minuscule group of active CB players (only 7,6% of all clans participated in this season on EU, 68,3% of which are gale league or below), and/or play ranked. Those players are often above average, since to get to the decent steel amounts they have to perform. But of course these facts won't stop some people from dreaming about window lickers and glue eaters doing good in the PEF.

I'm sorry that I can upvote this only once. WG needs to realize that the way they talked to the community has created a situation where the community can't believe a word of what they say.

To me the ship is bad because it doesn't fulfill the role of the class very well. It has nothing to do with whether I like BBs or not. Trying to get any damage in, while other T6 BBs just go in and do it, is an example of bad design.

Yeah, that DPM is tied to fun, when your potential DPM is garbage.

I disagree, at least partially. Stats alone say nothing about how the ship feels. A boring ship might have good stats because it is easy to use. Having people who earn money with WoWS by streaming say that the ship is bad, should be a signal that something is wrong with the ship. And I haven't seen a single CC praising the PEF as a good ship. Indeed, I'd really love to see how many people will remain playing the ship after there are no extra rewards attached to it.

This is how awesome this ship is, according to a 67% solo WR player: You can disagree, you can argue, but if someone who is really good at the game says it's bad, then it's quite a signal.
