Preventative Measures for Possible Pitchfork Feedback?
Aragathor replied to Reniwn's topic in General Discussion
I'm for transparency when it comes to threads. Making feedback invisible might make issues noticed by only a few less pronounced. -
Do not fall for the new Lunar lottery (the one available in the Arsenal)
Aragathor replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Irian is T8, but yeah. I'm not falling for it, I'm going for the free boxes from directives only. I'd love to get the Anshan and LoYang skins, but with no reliable way to buy I'll pass. -
WG is banning people who use the infinite silver CV exploit, where you use the compensation system to sell the CV and then buy them again with the clan discount, making a profit on the difference.
-
Me too. Atlanta right now is helpless between 3.1 km and 1.5 km, meaning a CV only has to move past 2,7 km of AA before it can delete a ship that is being sold as the strongest T7 AA cruiser:
-
I'm afraid of selling them, fearing that it's a fluke and if i do sell them WG will want the silver back.
-
Don't worry guys, starting from tomorrow the Z-52 will be equalized with other T10 DDs. It will just be as obsolete as them in the new perma-spotted CV meta. Reddit has NA guys posting their DD experience already.

There are two problems with the VU.The first is,that we don't know where the Italian Dante Alighieri will be on the tech tree. I assume it will be T4, with a ship study at T3, with Conte di Cavour at T5. VU was built to counter the Regia Marina in the Adriatic and any comparisons should be made against Italian ships. The second problem, is that the VU has been sunk during the closing of the war and never had a chance to get a post war upgrade, like T5 ships. That puts it into a very bad place, as those refits included improved AA. Putting her as she was at T5 is a cruel punishment, since she has no real AA.
-
That's an "X" for doubt. Let's look at the facts, shall we? SMS Viribus Unitis - Laid down on 24.07.1911, commissioned on 24.06.1912. T4 battleships: T5 battleships: All T5 BBs have been commissioned after the VU and received refits, real or fictional, after the war. Out of T4 BBs only the Orion has been commissioned earlier. SMS Viribus Unitis is only contemporary to later ships in the fact that it served in the WW1 before sinking in 1918, the T5 ships however as they are represented in the game are post war ships.
-
Let me point something out. The New York in the game, in its final form, represents the 1926 refit. That one added 3k long tons to her displacement, as the ship was considered obsolete by then and really needed upgrades. Texas represents the 1942 refit. So there is no comparison between the New York and Viribus Unitis, as VU sank in 1918 in her original form. To make VU viable for t5 she would need a completely fictional refit a la König, which would be pure fiction as by then neither Hungary nor Austria had any shipyards or fitting armaments. You do know that when the patch drops all AA upgrades will get demounted for free and skill resets for captains will be free for a week?

The very idea of such super ships becomes incredibly silly when you start considering the basics of construction. Germany would not even had had a place to build this thing.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]
Aragathor replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
3rd stage of Halsey campaign disappointed me completely: The two things I have in abundance, premium time and free XP. Camos and signals would have been a better drop. Blargh... At least this one was worth it. More of a reward than the two previous ones. -
I can't say whether WG is right or wrong, but as a customer I'm not happy with the direction the game is going and will respond accordingly. 1 - While I believe that introducing the CV rework now is unhealthy, I will continue playing the game. 2 - I expected the RU server to get fanservice and I'm not bothered with it. What bothers me is the balancing of the line, I think that the ships will be released in a state that will be stronger than other comparable lines. 3 - The changes to Azuma killed my interest in her. I wanted a T10 ship, something interesting and worth going for. What WG is doing is creating an Ibuki on steroids, which is boring. 4 - Again, a death sentence. A pre-war design is forced into a tier with post-war designs and naval treaty ships. The uptiering of VU is a sign of professional incompetence, as WG should be able to balance it at TIV. And yes I feel strongly about that one. 5 - It's sad, that a "bug" was one of the best features introduced to the game. 6 - The best way to disappoint and kill interest is to continue delaying. This ship could have been released for Christmas, with 1 month of live data already here. I start to think that WG wants to nerf the ship more compared to Kronshtadt. 7 - I'm going to give Ranked a good old academic try. I have several T9 DDs I'm grinding and it might be what the doctor ordered. 8 - KRI Irian was a real ship, with a Cold War story (RIP Lionel Crabb). I expect the ship to get a proper model and skin when the update drops, as it uses the Kutuzov model. I have no interest in it. 9 - I want to address the tiering of premiums, beyond VU. Ships like Exeter and Leone are clearly on wrong tiers, suffering from it as Leone has to be gimmicked and improved beyond what she was, and Exeter has to be weakened. It's something that will keep me from buying them. I would have loved to buy both ships, but as it stands I won't. I'm very unhappy with how the game develops and as a whale I'm less and less likely to continue spending money. I have enough premium, silver, and ships, not to care about buying anything for a long time.

Competition: Lifting the Siege of Leningrad - Discussion Thread
Aragathor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I'm surprised I didn't qualify in the Oktober Revolution, even though I played several games of coop in her during the weekend. Oh well, must have missed a game on Sunday. I'm still taking 3 boxes home, with my best result being the 3rd in Leningrad (curse you Friday game! If it weren't for you I'd be first!). Not bad for some coop fun. -

And if it doesn't, the introduction of the tanky and accurate fantasy Russian BBs with the best guns will. -

Aren't they? It's like they are trying so very hard to anger people and make them stop playing. It's as if they want the game to fail. -

Yeah, not spending money on those boxes. Would have loved the camos for Anshan and LoYang, but I won't risk getting single consumable camos for my cash. -
Logic by WG. Looking at the excuses made by them to explain changes is like listening to 5yo kid that broke a window.
-
Maybe instead of attacking each other you could realise that it's all WGs fault, and all of your ire should be aimed at them. Just a thought.
-
With the associated nerfing of course.

The HSF collaboration ended and all purchasable content has been removed from sale. I think it is still possible to finish the collection if you have it active. Unless WG and the HSF publisher agree to another collab, you won't be able to obtain any of the ships or other content in the future.

Price is one of the reasons, but not the only one. There are good and interesting premium BBs and DDs at T8. Kidd and LoYang, Massachusetts and Roma. But Vanguard and Terrible offer nothing, they aren't interesting gameplay wise and they aren't decent at what they do. Vanguard could have been an accurate and tanky gun platform like Warspite, instead it's a weak sister that has no punch and can't tank. Le Terrible has had a great concept, but without an exit strategy it's like a boxer that can only bleed on his gloves when the hits are coming.
