Uptiering ships that overperform is not the solution. I don't see any way to make the Kamikaze work at T6 for example. I'd rather have the ships balanced where they are... But this has been said by many before and not really addressed.

Targeted nerf of single premium ship is important precedent and warning finger
Aragathor replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
Seeing as WG already announced further nerfs on RU (see below), I'd say the bad sales policy of WG has caught up to them and forced them to look for desperate measures. This will only alienate paying customers and hurt the game even more. For the last year at least we have been telling them that jacking up prices for boxes, while nerfing contents makes us spend less. Now we are here. We have told them about overpowered ships before they were released, they didn't listen. Now we are here. And if WG doesn't start listening, we won't be here anymore. PS: I really like this game, but I don't like how the people developing and selling it act. -
Something interesting from the Russian forums

I have posted the 2 month game numbers for GC in the last 2 months on reddit, have a look: EU - 25136 NA - 24180 RU - 24205 SEA - 14798 Compare this with the 278953 games played in the Zao on EU alone in that time. http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/index.html Giulio Cesare isn't as popular as other ships. It's in fact one of the least popular T5 BB on EU: Kongo - 35438 König - 97511 Bretagne - 19876 Iron Duke - 42465 New York - 45967 Texas - 16833 It's already quite rare. -

At least WG is honest about upcoming nerfs to premium ships they advertised in Santa Crates, bait and switch. This will have consequences, as it will kill any trust people have in them. Looking at reddit, i'm now certain that WG is playing Russian roulette with a pistol. Every shot is a jackpot. PS: I'm now sorry for spending money on WoWS in the last few months. Could have used that money on games that aren't being killed by their own devs. -
Doubt it. They do such testing with ships named differently, example Henri IV -> Brennus, or the American cruisers.

Can you sell the nobilium camo without having lexington ?
Aragathor replied to anonym_FDOLXpxOfXXq's question in Q&A Section
You can't sell premium camos AFAIK. I would love to sell both it and the great gorgon for dubs. -
Exactly this. One only needs to look at Exeter. OP T5 cruiser according to CCs. After the "OMG OP RN CA!1!" hype dies down, WG will just uptier the ship to T6, but not before selling it at a premium through shady means (RNG boxes). And the only people at a loss will be all the players dumb enough to have paid for it.
-
Where were you when WG ignored feedback before the release of the aforementioned ship? Because the community and the CCs were telling them that, whenever they decided to release OP ships. It's not our fault that WG doesn't listen to feedback.
-
Let me just mention that terms and conditions can be rendered invalid by law even when previously accepted. That's why such contracts have a salvatorius at the end. With this change any RNG box sale promising rare ships will be effectively killed. Premium sales might also suffer, as you never know whether what you bought will not be nerfed into oblivion later on.
-
I can only talk about German consumer law, but drastically changing attributes of a sold item, to the point where the customer would not have bought the item, is in violation of consumer laws. Also, the compensation is in doubloons and not cash, which is problematic as store credit is not the same as money.
-
I wonder whether the consumer protection agencies in EU would consider this change a fraudulent behaviour, seeing as the bought product is massively changed and the compensation is not a straight cash back.
-
Arizona can extend its range with the spotter plane, Normandie has almost 18km range. When uptiered they can stay back. GC can't, and after firing the concealment advantage disappears. In fact with how CVs are, GC has no concealment advantage.
-
And it will suck like PEF. I agree with @quickr, the ship should be balanced at T5. What it will create is a precedent to uptier other ships, that aren't really higher tier material. You can't just take Kamikaze and put it at T6 as it is and say "balanced". I'd rather have WG man up and balance removed premiums where they are.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Aragathor replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, except it will stop seeing T4s and instead get uptiered up to T8. Every single BB there will overmatch the improved armor and with only 45k health the ship will become a XP pinata. -
With only a plating and burn chance modified i don't see any future for GC. With 406mm having 28mm overmatch it will be hell as the lowest HP BB at tier. And T6 gets uptiered +2 quite a lot.
-
No, it's fame is/was in clubbing T4s. It is adequate, but not great against T7s. When it starts seeing T8s it will just get eaten. With 406mm being common at T8 it will eat a ton of pens, and with the lowest HP pool of all T6s BBs...

You really don't want those three in your initial 10p. You are hobbling your performance with them. Especially with the SE.

Ranked Battles: Eleventh Season - Discussion Thread

For how long have we been telling WG that the save a star mechanic is bad? I think I'm too old to remember. -
Demolition Expert is a very useful skill for IJN cruisers, and especially a Zao with the legendary module. With the relevant signals mounted and the skill you get a 24% fire chance on 12 very accurate guns. He meant the skill Superintendent which is named differently in other languages, Inspekteur in German for example. I would however point out that his build is quite inefficient and not competitive. Taking SE and the Direction Center is a waste of skills. You are better off taking Expert Loader, to quickly switch between HE and AP, and either Vigilance if you want to hunt DDs or Torpedo Armament Expert, if you want to specialize in the 12km torpedoes. You can also use the 4 points for RPF.

You forgot the awesome picture she posted: The Exeter in game is the 1935 refit with the York camo. This ship should not be at t5, let's hope WG listens to feedback as we don't need another Buckfast. Ahem, Belfast. PS: In 1941 Exeter received a refit that might come in the future as a york B hull, if WG ever listens to us and gives us RN heavy cruisers. Do you hear that WG? Listen! -
CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
Aragathor replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
Most likely. I just had two games, one in the Budyonny in a T8 and a Kürfürst in a T10. In both cases the side with the concentrated push prevailed and won. What was disappointing, was that AA was useless even with DefAA against an equal tier CV. That one need to be balanced better. -
Yeah, that's disappointing. I would have bought them, as they are really pretty. But I'm not gambling with the boxes. So it's not my loss in the end.
