Exeter: Why is there only an "ADMIRAL PACK" ?!
Aragathor replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Thank you for showing a complete ignorance of the current state of the game. In coop CVs are not mirrored, instead a bot BB of the same tier is put in place of the CV. And please keep your opinion of a game mode to yourself, if you are not playing it. No one needs peanut gallery elitists. -
[PSA] Giulio Cesare Testing and Premium Ships Status

I'd prefer AD to be released as a silver ship with her 1941 setup: -
[UPD 22/3] Cross-Server Clan Battles: Second Test Round
Aragathor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Will WG address the fact that most of the top clans are running Henri IV heavy setups? Or will you claim that the boat is perfectly balanced compared to, say, Hindenburg? -
The whole German BB line is obsolete. T8+ its one garbage ship after another, compared to the other BBs.

You don't start a court case over a 30€ item to go for a settlement, you do it to establish precedent and force a legal ruling. Also, a settlement requires both parties to agree on it.
-
Sure, if you invest a lot of money in a good lawyer and accept the fact that this will be pushed up to the highest instance and take years.

We have tested heavy AA setups without a CV. When matched against an enemy team of more or less equal level (Top Storm/Bottom Typhoon) we always won. CVs offer an advantage in spotting plus they make ships that mostly remain stationary, like Moskva and Stalingrad, obsolete. I played a mobile Des Moines and had a blast yesterday. And if they find none? CBs are already unpopular, with the vast and overwhelming majority of clans not bothering with them. With this move WG might make the mode even more unappealing for clans outside the Hurricane/Typhoon bracket.

If it's the old premium port music (Hawaii), then the track is called Last Sunset. PS: Hawaii is my default port, when I'm not using an event one.

Giulio Cesare stays as it is + balance of other premiums
Aragathor replied to anonym_cwVecOS6ecVy's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't. They could have nerfed GC's dispersion, lower the sigma, or decrease concealment. For Belfast they could have removed the 5th upgrade slot or put radar and smoke into one slot, forcing the player to choose like they have to on T8+ RN CLs. Kami could have received weaker torps. Nikolai I could get the Russian BB dispersion. -
[PSA] Giulio Cesare Testing and Premium Ships Status
Aragathor replied to Sub_Octavian's topic in Development Blog
I'm quite ambivalent about all this. On the one hand, it is good to see that ships won't be uptiered even if it means that Exeter will never be T6. I can't imagine how radical the changes would have been to ships like Belfast if they were put at T+1. However, this decision also closes the door to balancing the ships down. I was for balancing the ships at tier, as it would have been possible to change their characteristics without changing their gameplay too much. This option is off the table now. I think the one thing WG and the devs especially could take from all this, is that they should communicate and talk with the active community before they start testing solutions, so that they can see beforehand what people are willing to accept. Because all of the bad feelings could have been avoided if WG first asked us to identify overperforming ships and how we would be willing to change them. -
Giulio Cesare stays as it is + balance of other premiums
Aragathor replied to anonym_cwVecOS6ecVy's topic in General Discussion
Yup. It's not like we the players are responsible for all this trouble. In the case of most of the OP premiums WG has been informed beforehand that the balance is off, they ignored it. Personally, as an owner of several of those ships, I didn't have a problem of balancing them at tier but I was vehemently against uptiering them. In the end neither happened, save for making the players insecure about buying premiums. -

Not really, but they are working on a mercy system so that people won't go ages without getting one. -
Ok, following that thought WG doesn't have to nerf GC, or Belfast, or Kami. Because it's the player not the ship.
-
I recently played a game with my clan leader, he played the Exeter and I played GC. Even though our team was losing we stomped the nemy team, he earned a confederate, a kraken, and placed first on the team list. Exeter might not be powerful in the hands of a potato, but a good player will be able to roll enemy teams over. And contrary to Furutaka you can put a 19p captain with all the bells and whistles on the ship.
-
The hypocrisy is real. We are being told that OP ships need to be nerfed, that they will uptier GC first to balance it. And then they release Exeter at T5 where no one but sealclubbers want it. At this point anyone believing WG's "arguments" is incredibly naive and foolish. Where are all those people wanting to nerf GC now? Why aren't they on the forum screaming to nerf Exeter?
-
It will get worse, the T8 MM is incredibly brutal to German BBs. The power creep has made them a pain to play in any other configuration than tank, and then they are subpar compared to others because of the bad firing angles.

"Sub Octavian" regarding possible changes to "Premium" ships that are considered "OP"

But repeating the mistake brings in money! And who cares about the response from the community and the damage to the game. Only the quarterly report maters. /s -
"Sub Octavian" regarding possible changes to "Premium" ships that are considered "OP"
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Putting the Kami at T6 will make it garbage. The only thing the ship will have at T6 is concealment, Fubuki and Shinonome have better offensive capabilities. Uptiering overperfoming ships will not make them balanced, it will ruin them. Having Kami receive weaker torps? Would balance the ship compared to Minekaze. Removing the Concealment Module slot on the Belfast? Would nerf the ship without ruining it. Or put hydro and radar into the same slot. WG could do a lot to balance the OP ships without changing them too much. Instead they chose the worst possible way to approach this. PS: Anyone still believing Blyska is fine, here's a deeper analysis. -
"Sub Octavian" regarding possible changes to "Premium" ships that are considered "OP"
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
The problem with this argument is that WG then changes the meta and your bought premium becomes a port queen. Look at Tirpitz, the strength of the ship has become irrelevant as pushing in the IFHE meta is suicide. Or Blyskawica, with the worst concealment and rudder shift at tier but without the stealth fire it once had. WG has been given a lot of slack for not dealing with the indirect nerfs to paid content. You are free to support them financially all you want, but others will be much less willing to spend their hard earned money on entertainment, that can lose its value because of an arbitrary decision by WG. Sure it is, just look at the recent stats of the ship, oh wait the boat is at the bottom of the list. Fine indeed. Not. -

In real world, and not the electronic wild west, replacing a leased car with a cheaper model would be a breach of contract. The leasing company would be in hot water, because there are laws, regulations, and agencies dealing with such situations. Digital content doesn't have such laws, it's a free for all, and we are at the receiving end. The leasing example would have you receive your money back, as you leased a specific car model. Also, the leasing company would be reported and fined by the customer protection agency. -

I don't believe you. It's coins against nuts the GC will be forced to T6 over any reaction of the community and testers, where it will become a garbage ship that doesn't fit because it was balanced around T5. -

Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. WG really wants to lose customers. Uptiering ships like the Belfast will kill them, as their stats aren't good enough to be competitive at higher tiers. Since knuckleheads are steering this ship I don't expect anything good to come out of this. -
The addition of signal packs for silver in the Arsenal was a great decision. I have a lot of silver but I'm burning through certain signals at an alarming rate. Having the ability to replenish them with silver makes me use them without worry as I can easily afford the rather high cost. I really hope a similar option can be made for consumables.

How is your Crown & Florin collecting (for the 3x RN CVs) going on?
Aragathor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Reached the Furious, not going to bother going for the implacable as I'm not interested in CVs (I'll take the goodies and free port slots). I'm going to use the remaining Florins on India Delta flags, as I'm burning through them fast.
