Well, as I'm a whale, there are no premiums I want to buy for doubloons anymore (Terrible, Wichita, and Asashio are not my cup of tea). And I do play CVs in coop. So there is just 0 economic value to me of exchanging a ship that might be gone forever, AKA Enterprise, for gold I can just buy. Unfortunate, but good luck in getting her. Maybe she'll drop for you one day.

They also did this with Belfast and Kutuzov when the smoke firing changes happened. I paid full price for Kutuzov then to get the ship before removal, because I realized that was a bait and switch, and the nerf would not make the ship bad. Gold is never worth the value of a ship in port. I'm not a CV player, but I would never touch my premium CVs, even GrafTurd. Hell, I even bought Ark Royal the day of the release. Whatever Wargaming offers, never assume they are doing you a favor. They just want to play you, to spend money later. To them that's business.

No. By changing the rifling on the barrels. They had different types of ammo with different velocities, but you don't shoot starshells with high velocity.

Well, one thing that WoWS gets right is the gun velocity and shell weight. So those parameters are at least historical in this arcade game. And the barrel life issues were solved later on, but the fact that the early barrels could not even empty the ship magazines before needing to be exchanged is hilarious. Speaking of barrel life, the RN had built their's with long life principles in mind. The guns weren't stellar but could keep going and going. And going.

WG has never cared for IJN premiums. Just look at all the ships they released, only Atago is anywhere decent, and that was one of the first premiums in the game. Even Kamikaze is good only because it wasn't hit with the IJN torps nerf. Yahagi is a high skill floor/low skill ceiling ship.

Then let's see, I'm going to list only premiums dropped from event boxes now: Air Supply: Free - Kaga Paid - Saipan, GrafTurd, Enterprise. On paper the ship looks good, in practice it is hot garbage and a perfect example of "awful everything". No offensive armament that works, no defense to speak of, not even a gimmick that could be interesting, just a collection of underwhelming traits. Even an Emerald looks better and you can get one for silver. But since it's an IJN premium and on paper it looks good, it won't be buffed in any way. PS: I really hate the fact that I paid for it. At least I wasn't stupid enough to buy the admiral sucker gets milked package.

There's a reason why I'm using the Whale as my emblem. If I counted the Christmas boxes and air supply containers, and other event stuff, then I'd be listing more than 30+ premiums. But they don't count, as I opened my wallet.

I'm not counting any event box with a drop chance, like air supply or Christmas. I've got 2 ships from SC's, either daily boxes or campaign rewards: -Krasny Krym (seeing a pattern here). -Gremyashchy.

So Poltava gets a standard BB guns and better range, while remaining with the Russian DCP? I don't feel that setup. I'm going to wait and see what the testers and streamers say about it, but right now I think the whole ship is a missed opportunity. As to the Cali, this is just the first round of buffs for it to make it perform. Come on WG, give it secondary characteristics of the Massachoochoo. You want it.

Let me repeat what I wrote in the DevBlog post: So that "small" buff is actually a game changer, as it moves Blyskawica from being a bad gunboat to being decent again. Not great or OP. Seeing as PanEU DDs are gun heavy ships, this will fit perfectly. I'm a very harsh critic of WG, because they screw up a lot in places they shouldn't. But I understand game design, being involved professionally in game design before. It's not easy to balance things and even small changes can be huge, after players have had the time to tinker with the numbers in ways devs never thought of. Premium ship buffs are permanent, that means the moment this "small" buff hits the live server, it's never going away. So WG cannot go whole hog on making large changes and seeing if they work. I'm optimistic about the change and look forward to playing Blyskawica in the future.

Ja, sieht nach wenig aus. Die Wahrheit ist aber anders, es ist ein solider Buff. Die Blyskawica hat eine HE Alpha von 11900, die zweit höchste auf T7 nach Akatsuki. Die HE DPM zur Zeit ist sehr niedrig mit 109837. Nur Shiratsuyu, Yudachi, Akatsuki, und Z-39, sind schlechter. Der "kleine" Buff von 0,5s ändert die HE DPM auf 119000. 5000 besser als Leningrad. Nur amerikanische und britische DDs sind besser. Aber die haben Kanonen die über 10km wenig treffen. Mit BFT haben wir dann 132209 HE DPM. Nur Mahan und Haida sind da besser. Und Vaquelin mit MBRB an.

No, it won't be anywhere near Haida. Unbuffed Haida has an HE DPM of 136800, which is still higher than Blyskawica. And with Haida you are better served picking SI and IFHE over BFT. But these are apples and oranges, as Haida is a cap brawler, while Blyskawica is not.

Ok. On the surface this looks like a really small buff. But the more I look at the numbers the more I see the net gain for the ship. Here's a breakdown, for anyone not speaking numbers (base stats, no captain skills): Currently Blyska has an HE Alpha of 11900, eclipsed only by Akatsuki's 12900, and this was always a big selling point. The HE DPM is 109837, which is better only than Shiratsuyu, Yudachi, Akatsuki, Z-39. Quite bad for a gunboat. With the change the HE DPM becomes 119000, making it only inferior to USN and RN-type DDs, which can't hit anything over long range. And only Haida, Mahan, and Sims are much better. Even Leningrad/Minsk will have a worse DPM by exactly 5000. With BFT it gets even better, with a HE DPM of 132209, making it only worse in DPM against Mahan and Haida. And we are talking high alpha strikes here with good velocity. I'm cautiously optimistic. PS: Forgot to compare Blyska with Vauquelin. With the buff the ships will be comparable, with Blyskawica profiting from the smoke and Vaquelin from the MBRB.
