After the cruiser split I had some horrible experience in the Pensacola and sold it, even though I had bought the perma camo for the T7 (it was a darling of a ship then). Decided to give the ship another chance today and holy hell it's as bad as I remembered. Deciding to take another more objective look, so I pulled up the 2 month stats: Pensacola has the worst WR, worst damage, kills, and K/D. It has the best AA, but that was always a USN trait. The accuracy is also ok, so why does it perform so badly? Time for ship values, starting with main guns: Now that's a pickle if I'd seen one. Pensacola is a total lemon when it comes to guns. It has battleship level turret traverse on guns that have the second worst DPM at tier. Those aren't bad guns per se, they have American AP angles, the alpha is great, both AP and HE, you get 10 of them. But it doesn't help when you can't react to enemy maneuvers. So maybe Pensacola can compensate with torps? She doesn't have any compared to other T6 cruisers. So she has to rely on her main battery, which is under-performing. The AA as stated above is really good, for a T6 cruiser. Nothing to complain here: On the defense front Pensacola has some additional issues: While she has the top HP pool, the advantage is completely nullified by other issues, the main of which are the concealment and armor protection. She has the worst possible concealment at tier. The next worst ship still has a 820m advantage. To add injury to the insult the Bayern with the B hull is stealthier, and the New Mex and Queen E are only slightly worse. That's right, this cruiser not only has battleship level turret traverse, it also has BB level concealment. When it comes to armor, she can't be compared to BBs. Even the other cruisers are better. First, her citadel is huge and above water. Second, she doesn't get a continuous belt, instead her extremities are 105mm, while center is only 76mm. Cit pen galore. To make it worse, she doesn't get torpedo bulges like Aoba or Nürnberg. No sir, she has her citadel in the open. None of those non-pen hits for her. So in the end the combination of guns that take forever to aim, high visibility, and low armor, can be blamed on the weak performance. @Crysantos@MrConwaycould you ring up the Leningrad office and ask them why they haven't buffed Pensacola yet? Both the potential numbers and stats show that she is bad. Anyone else has an opinion about the ship? Beyond the "I'm a super-unicum and the ship is fine". I find the 5,4s reload on 7 guns quite enjoyable. Replaced AFT with BFT and I wouldn't want to be in an Akatsuki with 7,5s reload when a Blyska comes around. Need more testing, but it feels much better now.

I bought it back on a lark today, stuck a 6p captain on it and had that game above. The ship is fragile, but hellishly fun now (at least to me). Sadly, the green Paddy perma camo can't be bought anymore.

Is the ship bad? Many people would say that Emerald is the worst T5 cruiser in the game, maybe the worst cruiser of all tiers. Let's compare Genova to it: HP - Genova has 3000 more HP, but Emerald has heal. Armor belt - Emerald has 6mm more belt armor. Concealment - Emerald has a 1,6 km advantage Rudder and Turning circle - Almost identical. Speed - Genova is faster by 1,5 kn. DPM (RN AP vs. SAP) - Emerald has a 9750 DPM advantage. Range - Genova has a 1,3km advantage plus spotter plane. Torpedo Range - Genova is 1 km better. Torpedo launchers - Emerald shoots 50% more torps per side. Torpedo damage - Emerald does 6666 more damage per torpedo. AA - Emerald has a good near AA DPS and better AA overall. Gimmicks - Emerald has heal, smoke, and hydro, which is better than the spotter plane on Genova. I frankly do not see Genova being better than the worst T5 CL in the game. So yes, Genova is really bad.

I've made a tier by tier analysis of German BB stats here. Not all of them are bad, but quite a few are. WG has announced they are working on a buff during one of the official streams.

WG also said they will never add subs to the game, and that Blyskawica is fine. Don't trust a word.

Ships and classes in the game: -Dreadnought -Bellerophon -Orion -Iron Duke -Queen Elizabeth (Twice) -Nelson -King George V (Twice) -Vanguard So out of 13 classes 7 are in. But wait, there's more. Bellerophon derivatives - St. Vincent, Neptune, Colossus. Orion derivatives - King George V (1911) Queen Elizabeth derivatives - Royal Sovereign class. So the ships not in the game, are either slight improvements of the class in the game, or a cheap version as is the case of the R class. Yeah, let's put them in, because almost identical ships are worth the trouble. HMS Erin - Improved Iron Duke class HMS Canada/HMS Eagle - Improved Orion class HMS Agincourt - Original construction. So only 1 out of 4 ships has anything to a to the game. And I'd love to see the gin palace introduced at t6 as a premium British shotgun. What's your point again?

What makes you think that attacking a guy doing his job is the proper response? Seriously, Sub_Octavian is just giving the reply he got from the devs, he's not at fault WG is ignoring feedback.

As always Sub_Octavian says the spreadsheet is fine and they need time: As with the Smolensk, Wargaming knows best how the ships play and if they are in need of changes.

This is an empty argument. Anyone who is working a fairly standard job from 8 AM to 5 PM won't be able to make any other time but EU. Most of my clan mates work these hours and I'm pretty certain if asked, most players who work would confirm that they can only play during these hours. As of now you are actively discouraging people who aren't Hurricane level from participating, with the lessened rewards, changed times, and bigger team requirements.

EU times are moved from 19-23 to 18-22, meaning that people who work for their living will have less time to play. Also the Storm steel reward was reduced by 500 and the Hurricane reward increased by 500, in a move to discourage average players from playing. Thank you WG for making CBs all about that 1% of all clans and not about the clan community as a whole.

Yeah. Most angled BBs are just immune to the A-mehfi. Had a Missouri leisurely stroll towards me, after the superstructure was saturated I got nothing. He got citadels on my angled @ss. I was able to solo a Kremlin in the Vanguard yesterday, thanks to HE. In fact any HE equipped ship can grill the Kremlin. Also killed one in my Minotaur by using islands and then just rushing one with single torps.

Looks like a typical management tactic of pumping out good quarterly numbers, cashing in a bonus, and then bailing before the company drops dead, because of no long term stability. Seen that one before.

Well, in my opinion having only ships that you struggle through, with the vague promise of the T10 being good, is a hallmark of bad design. Every other line in the game has at least one, if not more, ships at mid tiers that are fun to play after the grind. That's why perma camos are a thing. But the RM cruisers can all be sold after reaching T10. And why would anyone grind through a line of ships that aren't fun? As to the time argument, the stats are already a bit underwhelming. When everyone and his dog will have the ships, then we will for the first time, have a line of ships that are all at the bottom of the list.
