It's Update 0.10.0, and a number of camouflages from the last update are now in the mod. The Winter permanent camouflages for Furutaka, T-22, Hawkins, Visby, Kotovsky and New York from the Ships and Fates campaign as well as Tachibana and Yahagi from the Dockyard are included in this update. They get changed to a beat-up, battle-weary look. I found it fitting for these camouflages to look like how 2020 has felt. We have been through some rough seas and we're right in the middle of another storm, but at least we're still afloat. The three new Ranked reward camouflages are also changed. Next: The camouflages for the Italian battleships are pretty much ready for release, so I guess I may work on a few other camouflages on my list of stuff to mod. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/3343484 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

Yes, I put the final touches to them yesterday. They will be included in the next update.
-
If you want to know the texture(s) used for a camouflage, you can just look at the <Textures> entry for the camouflage: Here are the textures - as you can see in the example from the camouflages.xml, the MS-21 just uses a solid black shape, Type 21 is just a green shape.
-
I think the names are Frosty Fir Tree = <name>camo_newyear_tile_3</name> MS-21 = <name>camo_Leyte_Gulf_01</name> Type 21 = <name>camo_Leyte_Gulf_02</name> New Year (blue colours) = <name>camo_newyear_tile_2</name> I'm only 90% sure about the MS-21 and Type 21, maybe you'll have to make a little test.

How to deactivate stupid floral decorations on Hizen War Paint camo??
TheKingOfUm replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
You would need to make a mod and edit the 3D model for that. Get the WoWS unpacker, find the primitives for the decorations and extract them. Then delete the polygons from the files and make a mod with your edited files. AstreTunes has compiled pretty much all the information that is publicly available about the primitives and how to edit them: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/120372-read-3d-models-from-“primitives”-files/?page=1 If this would be your first mod for WoWS, expect a steep learning curve. As in, if you were paid a wage for the hours that you are going to put in, that mod would cost hundreds of Euros. If you ask me, it's not worth the effort. -
That's <name>camo_NewYear2021_tile</name>. The colour scheme for this one contains white, black and dark blue, so you have a lot of nice realistic options for the replacement pattern's colours.

As Christmas update 0.9.12 comes out, I have added a replacement for the new Winter Strands camouflage: The Compass Rose pattern that was added to the game but (as far as I know) not made available yet, has got a new texture as well. In the mean time, I'm still working on the Italian battleships and preparing all the new permanent camouflages that will become available in this update. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/3245976 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

Update 0.9.11 is available. While I'm working on the Italian battleships, I have added the Go Navy camouflages for the US light cruisers to this mod. They are replaced by something that is almost as American as painting your ship with the stars and stripes all over: the Measure 22 camouflage. Also, if the Brazil camouflage ever becomes available in the game, you'll be prepared. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/3173843 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

A Simple Guide to Texture Modding
TheKingOfUm replied to PunishedKAsual's topic in Modding Tutorials, Guides and Tools (English)
The location for mods has changed. Put your textures in World_of_Warships/bin/3052606/res_mods/content/gameplay/usa/ship/destroyer/textures/ and you should be able to see them in the game. Note that this path is only valid for the current update, with the next update there will be a new folder inside World_of_Warships/bin/ and you'll have to put your mods into that new folder. Also note that the old mod folders are usually deleted when a new update is installed, so don't keep any source files in there. -
The modded Type 3 Halloween uses the same texture as the unmodded camo, I just changed the colour scheme. The colours that you can achieve by only changing the texture and keeping the original colour scheme are not that great, and you have a lot of side effects because the texture is used in so many camouflages (it's what I did before this update). If you want to use the colour scheme, you can get it from the mod's XML file, it's called TheKingOfUm Plus Halloween2015. The texture is Dazzle_tile_camo_01.dds.

Here's Update 0.9.10. I have finally had the time to change the family of camouflages using the Halloween 2015 texture. They were part of this mod before, but only as a not quite ideal compromise. With the possibility of changing the camouflages.xml, these camouflages can get proper replacement textures now. Type 3 - Halloween keeps the pattern but gets a colour theme based on very washed out Halloween colours. FTW, Mars and Sirocco are quite rare, but looked very out of place and immediately destroyed any immersion whenever a player used them in a match. These camouflages, as well as the Full Moon camouflage, get individual and more realistic designs now. The Ranked camouflage gets returned to its original design, as that was actually fine. Also, any camouflages using the Halloween texture for the guns (e.g. Atlanta permanent camouflage) are no longer affected by the mod and should now look the way they were intended by the developers. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/3052606 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

camo mod bug with german navy collection bonus
TheKingOfUm replied to SkollUlfr's topic in Announcements and General Discussion (English)
Do you mean the second colour schemes for the camouflages? Those have to be put into the mod to work. If there is only one colour scheme for a given camouflage in the mod, you can only use that one, even if you could use a second one in theory. I don't know the splinter mod in detail, but that will probably be the reason. -
For Update 0.9.9.1, you can simply download version 0.9.9 of the mod, which was published last week. You just have to put the files into a different folder. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/2979658 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.
-
Update 0.9.9 is out, and for this release, I have added Type 1/2/5 camouflages for the new US Navy chonky battleship line. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/2964395 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

With the impending arrival of the Transformers collaboration, I have prepared an interim update that changes the two consumable camouflages. If you're using this mod you probably won't buy hundreds of those camouflages, and it's a time-limited event anyway, so these are just quick throwaway patterns. To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/2832630 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's ModPack and the Wargaming ModStation.

For Update 0.9.8 I can only offer one new camouflage: Meanwhile, I'm working on the new US battleships. Edit: To install, move the folder res_mods from the mod download to folder World_of_Warships/bin/2832630 in the World of Warships installation on your computer. The mod is also available in Aslain's Modpack and the Wargaming ModStation.

For anyone else wondering how to install: The files need to be copied to World_of_Warships/bin/2744482/res_mods in this Update, but the folder named with a number will have a different name in every update. I publish the mod before the update is released so that it is available immediately after the update, but that means that I cannot know the name of the numbered folder when I prepare the download. For future updates, I'll include installation instructions in this thread as soon as I know the magic number for the update.

Update 0.9.7 is out and I have continued with the filling of gaps in the mod by adding camouflages for Alsace and République. Alsace gets the Admiralty Scheme that was worn by Richelieu in 1945 in the Pacific. New patterns are added for the rare bonus camouflages O.I.T.N.B., Red Soul, Brilliant Ray and Crimson Tear, aka the Hardware Partner camouflages (because that's what they are called in the camouflages.xml; I guess they were originally intended for promotion campaigns). Use Brilliant Ray on HMS Monarch if you want to get an approving nod from your lepidopterist friends. Also - for now, I have removed the Dunkerque Fleur d’Acier camouflage from this mod. I don't have the ship myself, so I can't easily test if it still works, and since I used a nonstandard way of changing the 3D files, I'm a bit wary of the mod breaking the game without me knowing about it. Plus, if you care about a realistic look, you probably already have disabled the display of these types of camouflages (right?). If you want to continue using the camo, you can still download the standalone version from here.
-
That looks like the "Texture not found" texture. If you put a texture file into the camouflages.xml that the game can't read (usually because it doesn't exist), a very low resolution replacement texture with the text "Texture not found" is used instead. Since the color scheme from the XML is applied to that texture as well, it appears in the colours of the camouflage. And since the resolution is so low, you can also see mixed colours in the gradients. My guess would be that the Red_tile_camo_01.dds and Red_gun_camo_01.dds don't exist (maybe they were renamed by the developers). I think that the built-in plain red texture is called R_gun_camo_01.dds, but I can't check at the moment. Alternatively, you could make your own single colour textures.
-
That's the "birthday special tiled camo", in the camouflages.xml: The texture is shared with the Restless Fire and Halloween 2016 camouflages, so if you don't want those to change as well, you need to mod the camouflages.xml

Here's Update 0.9.6.1 (No content changes except for the new folder number.)
-
Did you update the Unpacker? The old unpacker that still worked in 0.9.5 will not work anymore in 0.9.6. You can get it from here (The link is in the first spoiler text in the first post): Then you should be able to unpack everything again.
-
I have tested the mod, and at least on my computer it does not cause problems. But if you are experiencing problems or you just want to be on the safe side, please redownload the mod. I have updated the link with a new version containing a corrected XML file.
-
Thanks for the heads-up... does this cause problems in the game? I can't check at the moment because I'm not at my WoWS computer. If it does cause problems I'll update the file tonight.

Update 0.9.6 brings the German Carriers, in the game and in this mod. As usual, tiers VI+ get special Type 5 camouflages. The idea here is that Weser with her very high tower would be well suited to be used as a floating flight school. The yellow markings are meant to help the new pilots get used to ship-based aviation and improve operational safety. This camouflage is inspired by late war German Air Force night fighter camouflage schemes. Also, I have prepared a replacement texture for the new Black-White-Red camouflage. My guess is that this is going to be the designated national consumable camouflage for Germany (like the Victory camouflage for Russia, Union Jack for the UK or Lunar Warrior for Panasia), so it should become a pretty common sight in the future. The replacement is a modern take on the iconic Baltic pattern, without looking so German that it would be out of place on other nation's ships.
