It would also make it more enjoyable to play. Todays Gearing is a thicc little boi. In general I feel like agility buffs would make t10 DDs much more fun to play. Some/Most of them handle like cruisers others like battleships.

Thank you anyway. I doesnt seem that useful but then again it doesnt really cost you anything. Early game it would be useful as a lot of CVs will fly back and forth to spot. You can potentialy hit them several times with the "burst". Im still not touching the ManAA skill with a 10foot pole though. -

I do play on normaly and with some sucess I might add. As you described earlier Im also doing better after the REEE-work. Why that is might be debated though. And in regards to the CV-thread as Europizza already pointed out. That 500+ page monstrosity might be the reason why we dont see the complaints or suggestions for improvement. Just bury everything deep enough and we can pretend its fine. -

Yes we should. And have a look at our CCs (Flamu, Flambass etc.) they still are. IChase has gone the ironic route telling people how to exploit the mechanics in an effort to put focus on the lunacy. You are probably right that its no use. Atleast it helps me justify going to t4 once in a while to "club" CVs along with everything else. -

Her argumentation starts with CVs are ok because we dont see as much anti CV threads any more. That would imply that complaining about the current situation is still valid. If we dont we are stuck with what we have. -

The OP was about the balance between CV and DD. You are right in what you say about CVs getting exponentially stronger with the skill of the CV-player. As a DD you can do fairly well against potato CVs. Most of the time they ignore you and you can ignore them. But given equal skill the CV completely ruins the DDs game. You get to chose between getting destroyed or having very limited influence. And as an added bonus a potato CV can completely ruin the game of a super unicum DD-player by just focusing him/her all game. The constant spotting will do it even if the CV cant hit. The balance is better or worse depending on what CV and DD is involved. As well as what modules/captain-skills are taken. But in general the balance is completely f**ed. There is nothing else to it. Can it be fixed within the current rework? It could be a lot better: Only minimap spotting. Planes getting destroyed on the deck of a CV under fire. No sixth sense. Limited range of planes. Burningtime of CV normalised and no launching of planes while burning. Any one of those would make it better. And there are lots more to add. But you are not wrong in insinuating that the rework in it self is flawed. Personally I would like to see a slower version of CV play with higher alpha strikes but longer reload and fight times. -
Add to that all the different ranges to keep track of. Spotting ranges of different ships. Torpedo ranges. Radar ranges. Hydro ranges etc. If you play DD your life depends on it.

Another thing that I find funny is how people dont really understand what to do in the game. I just played a Daring game. No CV, 2 radars and 2 DDs. I chose to go Shima style on the outside of the cap instead of going in since I didnt know where the radars were. Turns out both of them were hiding behind "my" cap and both the enemy DDs were in it. All the while my team were pressuring me to go in the cap "Daring wtf are you doing". End results I got 3 kills and took the cap. My team dominate the side even though we were outnumbered as the enemy were completely starved for vision. On the other side the enemy got steamrolled as they were outnumbered and lacked vision as well. Is this really so hard to understand? Sitting in a contested cap is a waste of time and potential. It will also most likely get you killed.

I did a dirty thing before going to bed yesterday I went to t4 in Shenyang and murdered the 2 red CVs. Sadly there was some colatteral damage as 2 other boats were blocking my way and had to sink as well. Next time I'll probably just tell the enemy team at the start of the game to move aside and give up their CVs. That way they have a choise -

Is that really the same thing? As the Asashio is balanced around only being good against BBs. But sure it can also torp CVs. It does however suffer against DDs and Cruisers. What class does CVs suffer against? -
I figured as much. But eventually it will be available. And by then we should know if DW-torps are worth using any more.

Im kinda interested in the Siliwangi. As of now Im not spending money on it. But down the line, who knows. Might be worth using a 25% dubloon coupon on?

In general I like the idea. The only problem would be that it would heavily favor some ships... Look what ships did well in 1v1. -
That would have been even funnier This one he bought as they were auctioned off by the navy. I think he started a veterans club to save some more of the old torpedo boats. But this one he still owns juridicaly. Its his personal torp-boat. A torp focused captain would go great with the new Pan-EU (Swedish) DDs.

I have had fun with Asashio since forever. But it is kinda limited sometimes. When the team stubbornly refuses to shoot the spotted cruisers to farm BBs in the back you are limited. What works great in the current meta is russian gunboats with smoke. Since CVs are in close to every game you need smoke to survive. But the 14-15km range still means that with decent positioning you can usually hide from the planes and farm something while doing so. IFHE also lets me kill the red cruisers when the team refuses to shoot them (or cant hit them).

Jupp thats about the way it works. DDs were always a great counter to other DDs. This will be an amazing DD counter. The pan-eu torps will be great at catching other DDs unaware. And if you cant, just outspot the poor thing. If that fails push magic x-ray button. If the detection is as good as on the Lightning it will be to good at hunting DDs. It will be crap vs everything else. No smoke. No speed. 120mm guns, so even with IFHE it can only pen 25mm. Torps that do 10700 damage.

2x3 and 1x3 but otherwise Im completly with you. That IJN DD seems so forgettable. The 150 mm guns are crap on Gade and z23. The z39 work only because its a bad t8 DD at t7. The Lightning clone with radar and heal... well you can probably torp bigger stuff and do some crap damage. But it will murder DDs like no tomorrow. The 12km fast low damage torps will catch DDs in smoke if you cant just sneak up and murder them with radar.

I never liked ranked. I dont have the patience, the frustration just grows and I play worse and worse. Sprint is good fun though. Last ranked I wanted R11, after that was to much work for to little rewards. It took 6 games, 5 wins and 1 was a starsaved loss. This time I will own Colbert and Smolensk... It might be fun just to mess around ;)

Players that go for them could probably need the buff.

The fixed torp-detection also has some issues. To Shima 20km torps it would be a buff. To Black sea-mines it would be a huge nerf. To Pan-EU DDs, Frencies and IJN F3 it wouldnt do anything.
