One advice you almost never see is play CO-OP. Play enough vs bots to learn brawling skills. Be stupidly agressive and learn how and when you can delete enemy ships. Im not saying you should play like that in randoms, but the lessons learned will help you decide those close games and get your WR up those extra percentages.

The T4 Shenyang and T6 Fushun are according to me the strongest non premium DDs in the game. The T2 might be tied with the v25. T7 is good but I cant make it work. Chung Mu and YY used to be great but are now just sad remnants of past glory. They are still playable though.

Im not playing much, and sometimes just CO-OP to finish quests. Kids, wife and a new puppy make time kinda scarse. But my stats are still decent, and I only play DDs in randoms. So I wouldnt say they are dead. In fact they are very much working. But I have changed tiers. I find t6 and 8 to be nice.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Still 2124 base xp loss is probably a record for me. Atleast at t6... I might have had higher at t8. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Played this game last night. People are always complaining about the potato quality of teams, and I sometimes agree. Yesterday was one of those days. 6 kills as a lowtier DD in a CV game where the CV went for me several times. And we were still not close to winning. -
I have not in any way mentioned reality. This is a game. Im just not convinsed that its nessesary for the game to function, and I never was.
-
Kinda true. If a Good CV wants you dead its just a timerace. You stall the inevitable and steal his time. What I dont like about radars is the no go zone they create. Making the gameplay more passive. I still dont see a reason why we have the x-ray effect. If radars didnt go through rock you could really start to pit your wits against the enemy cruiser. Playing hide and seek. But you are right that playing against radars is calculated play. With CVs its just random, even with spotting. If they just happen to fly over you at a key moment its over.
-
I can only agree. Radar and CVs do not mean that you cant do well. If you are unlucky they will however take you out of the game. A CV that wants you will seriously decrease your impact. Then again they won't be doing much else. Well placed radars will also seriously hinder any stealth/smoke play. And you are limited to spotting and calling target on them, praying that your team mates listen to you and can actually hit their shots. I do however find that in most games where I cant get anything done its because of competent DD-players. But having a duel with another decent DD is fun and rewarding on its own. Dealing with CVs and radar is not.

T4 is the best 😁 T5-7 when divisioning T8-9 are ok solo. I think the main problem with t10 is that everything scales to extreme-points. T10 play is a lot more punishing, maybe it should be, but it leads to blowouts or campfests. Still sPReadShEeT probably tells them that most people play t10 therefor its fine.

Yes I actually thought about how much better Cossak and Lightning are then Öland. Im guessing that will be true for t9 and 10 to. There is something about the playstyle that is lacking. You cant comitt as you have no tools to escape. Thanks for the heads up.
-
I just got back to the game. Played the t2-4 Pan EU DDs and they are ok. Nothing more. Then went to Öland as I love t8, I have not played Skåne. 12 games 66,7% WR with low damage numbers (40k) It excells at killing DDs, the DPM is ok for a DD fight and you can use the torps to catch DDs as 80 knots is nice. I will not keep playing it though. Slow to disengage and no smoke. Would rather play Kidd, Asashio, Kagero, Le T etc, even Ognevoi is more fun. If Skåne is the same with a lot worse detection then I won't be sad for missing it. Hoping that the t9 and 10 are better.

So doing the job that nets no xp, is high risk and also leaves the outcome of the game to your random team mates. I feel overwhelmed.
-
Im not saying that its a fun or easy job with either. Sitting in there and getting nothing done is frustrating. Maybe its just a bad map/game mode combo.
-
Well we are talking about ToD map and epicenter. I still hold on to that opinion.
-
True... The lack of plan, comunication etc is what makes it frustrating.
-
I played 8 games in ranked for enough steel to buy another t10. I lost 2, both epicenter. If I dont go and contest I have to watch us loose slowly on points. If I do Im locked down and rendered useless while I have to watch my team wither away. Its plague or cholera (two evils and there is no lesser). The problem is not really the map but the cruiser-players. They can contest while the DDs lock down the flanks and give vision, but few have the guts or brains to do so.

Hi everybody. Im on a break from the game to wait out new meta changes and take up hobbies that have been neglected these past 3 years playing WOWS. I was not having fun playing anyway. The biggest reason for that was often the team. 3 minutes in it was often decided already. One side was down several ships and had no map controle. Potatoes are gonna potate... We all know this is true. Some players wont learn no matter what you do. They dont want to or cant for whatever reason. My question to you fine gentlemen and ladies is if the game would be more enjoyable if ships survived longer even when misplaying. Say a 50% damage reduction across the board (including flooding and fires) or 50% HP buff to all ships. I do realize that something as extreme as that would require a lot of rebalancing. Still I would like to put it out there. Would it make the game more enjoyable? Take care guys, I'll miss you.

Would a global damage nerf help the game?
Sub_Human replied to Sub_Human's topic in General Discussion
But you cant have that There is no way of buffing these players and WR based MM will never work. So what is left to do? Carrying will probably be harder as it will be harder to destroy multiple ships. I still think that it would be more fun though. For us and for the people that usually die early in the games (jord pärena). -
Yes Im being a drama queen. What I meen to say is that it will be very hard to play DDs in high tiers with all that 12km radar. This will not stop the 20km Shimas though. For my mental healths sake I will probably take a break and let it "blow over". But then again lower tiers should be fine, so I might play some there.
-
Im sooooo looking forward to the meta when this goes live /s. 5x12km radar in every game will be glorious. BBs will love it though, so... 5xBB 5xCA/CL 1xCV 1x20km Shima Will be taking a siesta when it happens. Might play some t4-t5 though.

I vent a lot, rage and even TK on occation. Still sitting on close to 400 Karma. Play well and be upset about relevant things I guess.

cv vs dd balance - is this being looked at at all?
Sub_Human replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
I agree. And sometimes your manouvers make you an easy target. You have to chose between taking more damage from the CV or being shot. -
Well I get the feeling that the radar was the main issue. Even if they fix Gearings hull it still won't handle to well, but it will eat a whole lot less damage. It might happen ;) Also the 16.5 torps are starting to look spicy. I have been playing around with Legendary torp focused Gearing some and its not bad. Its a frustrating ship to face. The agility does however cause me to eat random torps from time to time aimed at whatever is behind me.
